Sterile neutrino dark matter from a TeV Scale Seesaw

In this article, we investigate the phenomenological aspects of a feebly interacting sterile neutrino dark matter candidate within a low-scale seesaw framework. The Type-I seesaw model is augmented by a second complex scalar doublet ($\Phi_{\nu}$), which couples exclusively to the heavy right-handed neutrinos and the lepton doublet, thereby generating the neutrino Dirac mass term while the first scalar doublet is responsible for giving mass to the remaining Standard Model particles. The lightest sterile neutrino ($N_1$) acts as a feebly interacting massive particle (FIMP), produced via decays of $W^\pm$, $Z$ and extra scalars present in the setup. We point out that $W^\pm$ and $Z$ contributions were overlooked in the previous studies, which actually dominate the $N_1$ production by a factor of $\sim 10^{13}$ and solely determines the relic abundance. Incorporating them leads to several novel consequences for the DM phenomenology like a new non-thermal condition which leads to smaller Yukawa couplings. We thoroughly discuss about the enhancement possibilities of $N_1$'s mass which is controlled by the small vacuum expectation value ($v_{\nu}$) of the second Higgs doublet. After incorporating the latest Lyman-$\alpha$ forest observations, this setup can accommodate both warm and cold dark matter scenarios.

Reconciling Fractional Power Potential and EGB Gravity in the light of ACT

Recent results from the ACT collaboration indicate a higher value for the scalar spectral index, with $n_s = 0.9743 \pm 0.0034$, which sets tighter constraints on inflationary models, and these shifts are not in favor of many pre existing scenarios, including the widely studied and accepted standard Starobinsky model. In this paper, we examine the fractional power scalar potential within the framework of Einstein Gauss Bonnet (EGB) gravity, incorporating standard slow roll approximation. The EGB theory, motivated by higher dimensional models, introduces quadratic curvature corrections and a coupling between the scalar field and the Gauss Bonnet term, thereby modifying the cosmological dynamics. The results show good agreement with observational data, placing the predictions within the $1 \sigma$ region of the ACT $r-n_s$ constraint plot. Furthermore, incorporating the running of the scalar spectral index reinforces the models consistency with observational bounds. We also explore the parameter space of the EGB couplings and identify the range of free parameters for which the results of $n_s$ and $r$ values remain within the $1 \sigma$ region of the ACT constraints. Finally, we also investigate the reheating phase, demonstrating that the model not only agrees with ACT data but also satisfies the lower bound on the reheating temperature, thereby ensuring a consistent and viable cosmological scenario.

Photon orbits and phase transition for gravitational decoupled Kerr anti-de Sitter black holes

Interpreting the cosmological constant as the energy of the vacuum and using a gravitational decoupling approach leads to a new Kerr--anti-de Sitter (AdS) black hole. The metric of the new Kerr--AdS is simpler than the standard Kerr--AdS and exhibits richer geometry, where the effects of rotation appear as warped curvature. We investigate the relationship between unstable photon orbits and thermodynamic phase transitions in this new Kerr--AdS black hole background. We derive an exact expression for various thermodynamic properties, including mass ($M$), Hawking temperature ($T$), entropy ($S$), heat capacity ($C$), and free energy ($G$), by relating the negative cosmological constant to positive pressure through the equation $P = -\Lambda/(8 \pi) = 3/(8 \pi l^2)$, where $l$ represents the horizon radius, and by introducing its conjugate variable as the thermodynamic volume $V$. When $P < P_c$, black holes with $C_P > 0$ are thermodynamically stable, while those with $C_P \leq 0$ are unstable. Our analysis of the Gibbs free energy reveals a phase transition from small, globally unstable black holes to large, globally stable ones. Additionally, investigating the system's $P$-$V$ criticality and determining the critical exponents shows that our system shares similarities with a Van der Waals (vdW) fluid. In the reduced parameter space, we observe non-monotonic behavior of the photon sphere radius and the critical impact parameter when the pressure is below its critical value. Furthermore, we present the distribution of critical points in parameter space and derive a fitting formula for the coexistence curve.

Leptogenesis in exponential $f(R)$ gravity model

We show that gravitational leptogenesis with dynamical $CPT$ breaking in an expanding universe can be reconciled with the exponential $f(R)$ gravity model, which introduces only one additional parameter $\beta$ compared to the standard $\Lambda$CDM cosmology. This model incorporated axions as cold dark matter. For $L$ violating interactions, we consider both a non-supersymmetric model with heavy right-handed neutrino decay and a supersymmetric model with sneutrino decay. For both cases, we have shown that the required baryonic asymmetry could be obtained. We have also shown the variation of decoupling temperature for lepton number violating interactions with the $\beta$ parameter in exponential $f(R)$ gravity. Lepton number-violating model parameters are constrained with the $\beta$ through the decoupling temperature. An upper bound on the $\beta$ parameter of the exponential $f(R)$ gravity is also obtained.

Naturalness in Soft Leptogenesis and Gravitino Mass Bound due to Primordial Black Holes

If sneutrinos are produced through primordial black hole (PBH) evaporation, then some interesting features of soft leptogenesis in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with heavy right-handed neutrinos, are found. The required baryonic asymmetry could be possible from the decays of sneutrinos, for the soft SUSY breaking trilinear $A$ and bilinear $B$ parameters around the electroweak scale. The resonance condition in soft leptogenesis is not required. The allowed regions of different relevant parameters are discussed in detail. Using experimental constraints from collider searches on heavy leptons, the lower bound on the right-handed neutrino mass is found to be around $300$ GeV with Yukawa coupling lesser than about $0.4$. The allowed region of the typical mass scale of some supersymmetric particles and the $|A|$ parameter is also shown from the experimental constraint on the branching ratio for $\mu \rightarrow e \gamma$ in MEG-II search. Depending on PBH mass, bounds on the mass of gravitinos, produced from PBH evaporation, is discussed and gravitino mass around the electroweak scale is found to be possible only for unstable gravitino.

Concircular vector fields for Kantowski Sachs and Bianchi type III spacetimes

This paper intends to obtain concircular vector fields of Kantowski Sachs and Bianch type III spacetimes. For this purpose, ten conformal Killing equations and their general solution in the form of conformal Killing vector fields are derived along with their conformal factors. The obtained conformal Killing vector fields are then placed in Hessian equations to obtain the final form of concircular vector fields. The existence of concircular symmetry imposes restrictions on the metric functions. The conditions imposing restrictions on these metric functions are obtained as a set of integrability conditions. It is shown that Kantowski Sachs and Bianchi type III spacetimes admit four, six, or fifteen dimensional concircular vector fields. It is established that for Einstein spaces, every conformal Killing vector field is a concircular vector field. Moreover, it is explored that every concircular vector field obtained here is also a conformal Ricci collineation.

Homothetic Vectors of Bianchi Type I Spacetimes in Lyra Geometry and General Relativity

In this paper Bianchi type I spacetimes are completely classified by their homothetic vectors in the context of Lyra geometry. The non-linear coupled Lyra homothetic equations are obtained and solved completely for different cases. In some cases, Bianchi type I spacetimes admit proper Lyra homothetic vectors (LHVs) for special choices of the metric functions, while there exist other cases where the spacetime under consideration admits only Lyra Killing vectors (LKVs). In all the possible cases where Bianchi type I spacetimes admit proper LHVs or LKVs, we obtained homothetic and Killing vectors for Bianchi type I spacetimes in general relativity by taking the displacement vector of Lyra geometry as zero. Matter collineation symmetry is explained by taking the matter field as a perfect fluid. The obtained proper LHVs and LKVs are used in matter collineation equations and a barotropic equation of state having $ρ(t)\,=\,γ\,p(t)$, $0\,\leq\,γ\,\leq\,1$ form is always obtained when the displacement vector is considered as a function of $t$ or treated as a constant.

Teleparallel Conformal Killing Vector Fields of LRS Bianchi Type V Spacetimes in Teleparallel Gravity

The aim of this paper is to explore teleparallel conformal Killing vector fields (CKVFs) of locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type V spacetimes in the context of teleparallel gravity and compare the obtained results with those of general relativity. The general solution of teleparallel conformal Killing's equations is found in terms of some unknown functions of t and x , along with a set of integrability conditions. The integrability conditions are solved in some particular cases to get the final form of teleparallel CKVFs. It is observed that the LRS Bianchi type V spacetimes admit proper teleparallel CKVF in only one case, while in remaining cases the teleparallel CKVFs reduce to teleparallel Killing vector fields (KVFs). Moreover, it is shown that the LRS Bianchi type V spacetimes do not admit any proper teleparallel homothetic vector field (HVF).

Conformal Killing Vectors Of Plane Symmetric Four Dimensional Lorentzian Manifolds

In this paper, we investigate conformal Killing's vectors (CKVs) admitted by some plane symmetric spacetimes. Ten conformal Killing's equations and their general forms of CKVs are derived along with their conformal factor. The existence of conformal Killing's symmetry imposes restrictions on the metric functions. The conditions imposing restrictions on these metric functions are obtained as a set of integrability conditions. Considering the cases of time-like and inheriting CKVs, we obtain spacetimes admitting plane conformal symmetry. Integrability conditions are solved completely for some known non-conformally flat and conformally flat classes of plane symmetric spacetimes. A special vacuum plane symmetric spacetime is obtained, and it is shown that for such a metric CKVs are just the homothetic vectors (HVs). Among all the examples considered, there exists only one case with a six dimensional algebra of special CKVs admitting one proper CKV. In all other examples of non-conformally flat metrics, no proper CKV is found and CKVs are either HVs or Killing's vectors (KVs). In each of the three cases of conformally flat metrics, a fifteen dimensional algebra of CKVs is obtained of which eight are proper CKVs.

Classification of non conformally flat cylindrically symmetric non static space-times according to their proper conformal motions

In this paper we considered the most general form of non conformally flat cylindrically symmetric non-static space-times to study proper conformal motions using direct integration technique. We have shown that very special classes for cylindrically symmetric space-times admit proper conformal motions. This classification also covers non-static and static plane symmetric space-times. In [9] it was claimed that non conformally flat plane symmetric static space-times do not admit proper conformal motion. Here it is also shown that static and non static plane symmetric space-times admit proper conformal motions. We also discuss the Lie algebra in each case.
