Inversion of the elliptical Radon transform arising in migration imaging using the regular Radon transform

In recent years, many types of elliptical Radon transforms that integrate functions over various sets of ellipses/ellipsoids have been considered, relating to studies in bistatic synthetic aperture radar, ultrasound reflection tomography, radio tomography, and migration imaging. In this article, we consider the transform that integrates a given function in $\mathbf R^n$ over a set of ellipses (when $n=2$) or ellipsoids of rotation (when $n\geq 3$) with foci restricted to a hyperplane. We show a relation between this elliptical Radon transform and the regular Radon transform, and provide the inversion formula for the elliptical Radon transform using this relation. Numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the suggested algorithms in two dimensions, and these simulations are also provided in this article.

On the determination of a function from its cone transform with fixed central axis

A Radon-type transform called a cone transform that assigns to a given function its integral over various sets of cones has arisen in the last decade in the context of the study of Compton cameras used in Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography. Here, we study the cone transform for which the central axis of the cones of integration is fixed. We present many of its properties, such as two inversion formulas, a stability estimate, and uniqueness and reconstruction for a local data problem.

A Radon-type transform arising in Photoacoustic Tomography with circular detectors: spherical geometry

This paper is devoted to a Radon-type transform arising in a version of Photoacoustic Tomography that uses integrating circular detectors. We show that the transform can be decomposed into the spherical Radon transform and the Funk-Minkowski transform. An inversion formula and a range description are obtained by combining existing inversion for- mulas and range descriptions for the spherical Radon transform and the Funk-Minkowski transform. Numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate our proposed algorithm.

On the determination of a function from cylindrical Radon transforms

This paper is devoted to a Radon-type transform arising in Photoacoustic Tomography that uses integrating line detectors. We consider two situations: when the line detectors are tangent to the boundary of a cylindrical domain and when the line detectors are located on a plane. We present the analogue of the Fourier slice theorems for each case of the Radon-type transforms. Also, we provide several new inversion formulas, a support theorem, and stability estimate and necessary range condition results.

A Radon-type transform arising in Photoacoustic Tomography with circular detectors

PAT is the best-known example of a hybrid imaging method. In this article, we define a Radon-type transform arising in a version of PAT that uses integrating circle detectors and describe how the Radon transform integrating over all circles with a fixed radius is determined from this Radon-type transform. Also, the inversion of the Radon transform integrating over all circles is provided. Various configuration of detectors have their own geometry problems. Here we consider three situations: when the centers of the detectors are located on a cylinder, on a plan, and on a sphere. This transform is similar to a toroidal transform, which maps a given function to its integrals over a set of tori. We also study this mathematically similar object.

Inversions of the windowed ray transform

The windowed ray transform is a natural generalization of the "Analytic-Signal Transform" which is developed to extend arbitrary functions from $\RR^n$ to $\CC^n$. We present several inversion formulas here.

On the Determination of a Function from an Elliptical Radon Transform

In recent years, Radon type transforms that integrate functions over various sets of ellipses/ellipsoids have been considered in SAR, ultrasound reflection tomography, and radio tomography. In this paper, we consider the transform that integrates a given function in $\RR^n$ over a set of solid ellipsoids of rotation with a fixed eccentricity and foci restricted to a hyperplane. Inversion formulas are obtained for appropriate classes of functions that are even with respect to the hyperplane. Stability estimates, range description, and local uniqueness results are also provided.
