SIR models with demography, random transmission coefficient and non-autonomous vaccination rate

In this paper we investigate the asymptotic behavior of some SIR models incorporating demography, bounded random transmission coefficient and a time-dependent vaccination strategy targeting the susceptible population. In this setting, we establish the existence and uniqueness of non-negative global solution of the models and derive conditions under which either the disease is eradicated or becomes endemic. In addition, the theoretical results are further illustrated by several numerical simulations.

Symmetry results for $p$-Laplacian systems involving a first order term

In this paper we obtain symmetry and monotonicity results for positive solutions to some $p$-Laplacian cooperative systems in bounded domains involving first order terms and under zero Dirichlet boundary condition.

The Dirichlet-to-Neumann map in a disk with a one-step radial potential. An analytical and numerical study

We consider the Schrödinger operator with a potential q on a disk and the map that associates to q the corresponding Dirichlet to Neumann (DtN) map. We give some numerical and analytical results on the range of this map and its stability, for the particular class of one-step radial potentials.

On the Harnack inequality for quasilinear elliptic equations with a first order term

We consider weak solutions to $$-Δ_pu+a(x,u)|\nabla u|^q=f(x,u),$$ with $p>1$, $q\geq\max\,\{p-1,1\}$. We exploit the Moser iteration technique to prove a Harnack comparison inequality for $C^1$ weak solutions. As a consequence we deduce a strong comparison principle.
