A Search for the Quark-Hadron Phase Transition in pp collisions at $\sqrt s$ = 13 TeV using UrQMD model

Charged particle multiplicity fluctuations in pp collisions at $\sqrt s$ = 13 TeV have been studied by the method of scaled factorial moment for the minimum bias events generated by Ultra Relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model in the pseudo-rapidity (η), azimuthal angle ($ϕ$) and two dimensional anisotropic ($η$-$ϕ$) phase space. Strong intermittent type of fluctuations have been observed for the UrQMD simulated data. Systematic studies of intermittent fluctuations in terms of scaled factorial moments was utilized to extract the anomalous fractal dimension in the pseudo-rapidity (η), azimuthal angle ($ϕ$) and two dimensional anisotropic ($η$-$ϕ$) phase space. Search for the quark-hadron phase transition in the framework of Ginzburg-Landau theory of second-order phase transition by the analysis with the factorial moment method has also been performed.

Event-By-Event Fluctuation of Maximum Particle Density in Narrow Pseudo-Rapidity Interval at a Few AGeV/c

A detailed study of event by event fluctuation of maximum particle density of the produced particles in narrow pseudo-rapidity interval in terms of the scaled variance ω has been carried out for 16O-AgBr, 28Si-AgBr and 32S-AgBr interactions at an incident momentum of 4.5 AGeV/c. For all the interactions the values of scaled variance are found to be greater than zero indicating the presence of strong event by event fluctuation of maximum particle density values in the multiparticle production process. The event by event fluctuations are found to decrease with the increase of pseudo-rapidity interval. Experimental analysis has been compared with the results obtained from the analysis of events simulated by the Ultra Relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model. UrQMD model could not replicate the experimental results.

Event by Event analysis of Maximum Pseudo-rapidity Gap Fluctuation in High energy Nucleus-nucleus Collisions

A study of Event by Event analysis of maximum Pseudo-rapidity Gap Fluctuation in heavy-ion collisions in terms of the scaled variance ω has been carried out for relativistic AA collisions with multiplicity cut (N >10) using nuclear emulsion data at 4.5 AGeV/c. The values of scaled variance are found to be greater than zero indicating the presence of strong fluctuation of maximum rap gap values in the multiparticle production process. The event by event fluctuations are found to decrease with the increase of average multiplicity of the interactions. Experimental analysis has been compared with the results obtained from the analysis of events simulated by generating random numbers (MC-RAND events) and also by Ultra Relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model. UrQMD model simulated values of event by event fluctuations of maximum rapidity gap are less than the corresponding experimental values.

Multifractal analysis of charged particle multiplicity distribution in the framework of Renyi entropy

A study of multifractality and multifractal specific heat has been carried out for the produced shower particles in nuclear emulsion detector for 16O-AgBr, 28Si-AgBr and 32S-AgBr interactions at 4.5AGeV/c in the framework of Renyi entropy. Experimental results have been compared with the prediction of Ultra Relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model. Our analysis reveals the presence of multifractality in the multiparticle production process in high energy nucleus-nucleus interactions. Degree of multifractality is found to be higher for the experimental data and it increases with the increase of projectile mass. The investigation of quark-hadron phase transition in the multiparticle production in 16O-AgBr, 28Si-AgBr and 32S-AgBr interactions at 4.5 AGeV/c in the framework of Ginzburg-Landau theory from the concept of multifractality has also been presented. Evidence of constant multifractal specific heat has been obtained for both experimental and UrQMD simulated data.

Projectile Fragmentation of relativistic nuclei in peripheral Collisions

A study of multiplicity distribution of singly charged, doubly charged, multi charged projectile fragments and shower particles have been carried out for the peripheral collisions in 16O-emulsion,22Ne-emulsion and 28Si-emulsion interactions at an incident momentum of (4.1-4.5) AGeV/c. Events having no target fragments have been designated as peripheral collision events. Percentage of peripheral events has been found to increase with the increase of projectile mass. Dispersion of the multiplicity distribution and its dependence on projectile mass for projectile fragments and shower particles has also been investigated. Dependence of average multiplicity of projectile fragments and shower particles on the mass of the projectile beam has been studied. Study of different fragmentation mode during the emission of multi charged projectile fragments has also been carried out.

A Comparative Study of kaon to pion ratio in Proton-Proton Collisions at different energies ---Experimental Results vs. Model Simulation

A detailed study of energy dependence of positive kaon to pion, negative kaon to pion and total kaon to pion multiplicity ratio have been carried out in pp collisions at 6.3, 17.3, 62.4, 200 and 900 GeV and also at root s =2.76 TeV and 7 TeV in the framework of UrQMD and DPMJET III model. Energy dependence of positive kaon to pion and negative kaon to pion show different behavior in case of UrQMD and DPMJET III model. The presence of the horn like structure in the variation of positive kaon to pion and negative kaon to pion ratio with energy for the experimental data is supported by the DPMJET III model. Experimentally it has been observed that as energy increases, the total kaon to pion multiplicity ratio increases systematically for pp collisions at lower energies and becomes independent of energy in LHC energy regime. Our analysis on total kaon to pion multiplicity ratio with UrQMD data is well supported by the experimental results obtained by different collaborations in different times. In case of DPMJET III data, the saturation of kaon to pion ratio at LHC region has not been observed.

Ring like correlation in relativistic heavy ion collision: an experimental probe using continuous wavelet transform approach

Continuous wavelet transform approach has been applied to the pseudo-rapidity distribution of shower particles produced in 16O-AgBr interactions at 60 AGeV and 32S-AgBr interactions at 200 AgeV. Multiscale analysis of wavelet pseudo-rapidity spectra has been performed in order to find out the presence of ring-like correlation, which could be either due to production of Cherenkov gluons or due to propagation of Mach Shock wave through excited nuclear matter. This approach fulfils the basic requirement of both effects that they lead to an overabundance of considered particles at some typical pseudo-rapidities. Comparison of experimental results with that obtained from analyzing events generated by FRITIOF code are not reproduced.

Comparative Multi Fractal De-trended Fluctuation Analysis of heavy ion interactions at a few GeV to a few hundred GeV

We have studied the multifractality of pion emission process in 16O-AgBr interactions at 2.1AGeV & 60AGeV, 12CAgBr &24Mg-AgBr interactions at 4.5AGeV and 32S-AgBr interactions at 200AGeV using Multifractal Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (MFDFA) method which is capable of extracting the actual multifractal property filtering out the average trend of fluctuation. The analysis revels that the pseudo rapidity distribution of the shower particles is multifractal in nature for all the interactions i.e. pion production mechanism has in built multi-scale self-similarity property. We have employed MFDFA method for randomly generated events for 32S-AgBr interactions at 200 AGeV. Comparison of expt. results with those obtained from randomly generated data set reveals that the source of multifractality in our data is the presence of long range correlation. Comparing the results obtained from different interactions, it may be concluded that strength of multifractality decreases with projectile mass for same projectile energy and for a particular projectile it increases with energy. The values of ordinary Hurst exponent suggest that there is long range correlation present in our data for all the interactions.
