$D^{\ast}$ polarization vs. $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ anomalies in the leptoquark models

Polarization measurements in $\bar{B} \to D^{(\ast)} τ\overlineν$ are useful to check consistency in new physics explanations for the $R_{D}$ and $R_{D^{\ast}}$ anomalies. In this paper, we investigate the $D^{\ast}$ and $τ$ polarizations and focus on the new physics contributions to the fraction of a longitudinal $D^{\ast}$ polarization ($F_{L}^{D^{\ast}}$), which is recently measured by the Belle collaboration $F_{L}^{D^{\ast}} = 0.60 \pm 0.09$, in model-independent manner and in each single leptoquark model (${\rm R}_2$, ${\rm S}_1$ and ${\rm U}_1$) that can naturally explain the $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ anomalies. It is found that $\mathcal{B}(B_c^{+} \to τ^{+} ν)$ severely restricts deviation from the Standard Model (SM) prediction of $F_{L, \textrm{SM}}^{D^{\ast}} = 0.46 \pm 0.04$ in the leptoquark models: [0.43, 0.44], [0.42, 0.48], and [0.43, 0.47] are predicted as a range of $F_{L}^{D^{\ast}}$ for the ${\rm R}_2$, ${\rm S}_1$, and ${\rm U}_1$ leptoquark models, respectively, where the current data of $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ is satisfied at $1\,σ$ level. It is also shown that the $τ$ polarization observables can much deviate from the SM predictions. The Belle II experiment, therefore, can check such correlations between $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ and the polarization observables, and discriminate among the leptoquark models.

Flavor physics in the multi-Higgs doublet models induced by the left-right symmetry

In this paper, we discuss the multi-Higgs doublet models, that could be effectively induced by the extended Standard Model (SM). In particular, we focus on the phenomenology in the supersymmetric model with left-right (LR) symmetry, where the down-type and the up-type Yukawa couplings are unified and the Yukawa coupling matrices are expected to be hermitian. In this model, several Higgs doublets are introduced to realize the realistic fermion mass matrices, and the heavy Higgs doublets have flavor changing couplings with quarks and leptons. The LR symmetry is assumed to break down at high energy to realize the Type-I seesaw mechanism. The supersymmetry breaking scale is expected to be around 100 TeV to achieve the 125 GeV Higgs. In such a setup, the flavor-dependent interaction of the Higgs fields becomes sizable, so that we especially discuss the flavor physics induced by the heavy Higgs fields in our work. Our prediction depends on the structure of neutrinos, e.g., the neutrino mass ordering. We demonstrate how the flavor structure of the SM affects the flavor violating couplings. In our analysis, we mainly focus on the four-fermi interaction induced by the scalar exchanging, and we propose a simple parameterization for the coefficients. Then, we find the correlations among the flavor observables and, for instance, see that our prediction for the $μ\to 3 e$ process could be covered by the future experiment, in one case where the neutrino mass hierarchy is normal.

Status of the semileptonic $B$ decays and muon g-2 in general 2HDMs with right-handed neutrinos

In this paper, we study the extended Standard Model (SM) with an extra Higgs doublet and right-handed neutrinos. If the symmetry to distinguish the two Higgs doublets is not assigned, flavor changing neutral currents (FCNCs) involving the scalars are predicted even at the tree level. We investigate the constraints on the FCNCs at the one-loop level, and especially study the semileptonic $B$ meson decays, e.g. $B \to D^{(*)} τν$ and $B \to K^{(*)} ll$ processes, where the SM predictions are more than $2 σ$ away from the experimental results. We also consider the flavor-violating couplings involving right-handed neutrinos and discuss if the parameters to explain the excesses of the semileptonic $B$ decays can resolve the discrepancy in the the anomalous muon magnetic moment. Based on the analysis, we propose the smoking-gun signals of our model at the LHC.

$R(D^{(*)})$ in a general two Higgs doublet model

Motivated by an anomaly in $R(D^{(*)})={\rm BR}(\bar{B}\rightarrow D^{(*)} τ^-\barν)/{\rm BR}(\bar{B}\rightarrow D^{(*)} l^-\barν)$ reported by BaBar, Belle and LHCb, we study $R(D^{(*)})$ in a general two Higgs doublet model (2HDM). Although it has been suggested that it is difficult for the 2HDM to explain the current world average for $R(D^{(*)})$, it would be important to clarify how large deviations from the standard model predictions for $R(D^{(*)})$ are possible in the 2HDM. We investigate possible corrections to $R(D^{(*)})$ in the 2HDM by taking into account various flavor physics constraints (such as $B_c^-\rightarrow τ^- \barν$, $b\rightarrow sγ$, $b\rightarrow s l^+l^-$, $Δm_{B_{d,s}}$, $B_s\rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ and $τ^+τ^-$, and $B^-\rightarrow τ^- \barν$), and find that it would be possible (impossible) to accommodate the 1$σ$ region suggested by the Belle's result when we adopt a constraint ${\rm BR}(B_c^-\rightarrow τ^- \barν)\le30~\%$ (${\rm BR}(B_c^-\rightarrow τ^- \barν)\le10~\%$). We also study productions and decays of heavy neutral and charged Higgs bosons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment and discuss the constraints and implications at the LHC. We show that in addition to well-studied production modes $bg\rightarrow tH^-$ and $gg\rightarrow H/A$, exotic productions of heavy Higgs bosons such as $cg\rightarrow bH^+,t+H/A$ and $c\bar{b}\rightarrow H^+$ would be significantly large, and the search for their exotic decay modes such as $H/A\rightarrow t\bar{c}+c\bar{t},~μ^\pmτ^\mp$ and $H^+\rightarrow c\bar{b}$ as well as $H/A\rightarrow τ^+τ^-$ and $H^+\rightarrow τ^+ν$ would be important to probe the interesting parameter regions for $R(D^{(*)})$.
