Ultralow-Power Single-Sensor-Based E-Nose System Powered by Duty Cycling and Deep Learning for Real-Time Gas Identification

This study presents a novel, ultralow-power single-sensor-based electronic nose (e-nose) system for real-time gas identification, distinguishing itself from conventional sensor-array-based e-nose systems whose power consumption and cost increase with the number of sensors. Our system employs a single metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensor built on a suspended 1D nanoheater, driven by duty cycling-characterized by repeated pulsed power inputs. The sensor's ultrafast thermal response, enabled by its small size, effectively decouples the effects of temperature and surface charge exchange on the MOS nanomaterial's conductivity. This provides distinct sensing signals that alternate between responses coupled with and decoupled from the thermally enhanced conductivity, all within a single time domain during duty cycling. The magnitude and ratio of these dual responses vary depending on the gas type and concentration, facilitating the early-stage gas identification of five gas types within 30 s via a convolutional neural network (classification accuracy = 93.9%, concentration regression error = 19.8%). Additionally, the duty-cycling mode significantly reduces power consumption by up to 90%, lowering it to 160 $μ$W to heat the sensor to 250$^\circ$C. Manufactured using only wafer-level batch microfabrication processes, this innovative e-nose system promises the facile implementation of battery-driven, long-term, and cost-effective IoT monitoring systems.

Standard conjecture D for local stacky matrix factorizations

We establish the non-commutative analogue of Grothendieck's standard conjecture D for the differential graded category of $G$-equivariant matrix factorizations associated to an isolated hypersurface singularity where $G$ is a finite group.

Canonical pairing and Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch formula for matrix factorizations

We formulate a realization of the canonical pairing in the negative cyclic homology of the category of local matrix factorizations and for global matrix factorizations, by introducing a twisted de Rham valued Todd class we establish a formula of the Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch theorem in the case of periodic cyclic homology.

Maximal domains of solutions for analytic quasilinear differential equations of first order

We study the real-analytic continuation of local real-analytic solutions to the Cauchy problems of quasi-linear partial differential equations of first order for a scalar function. By making use of the first integrals of the characteristic vector field and the implicit function theorem we determine the maximal domain of the analytic extension of a local solution as a single-valued function. We present some examples including the scalar conservation laws that admit global first integrals so that our method is applicable.

Chern characters for curved dg-algebras

We construct a quasi-inverse of the cochain map on the negative cyclic complexes of the second kind induced from the quasi-Yoneda embedding on a curved dg algebra. This gives an explicit formula for the Chern character of a perfect module.

A chain-level HKR-type map and a Chern character formula

We construct a Hochschild-Kostant-Rosenberg-type quasi-isomorphism for the negative cyclic homology of the category of global matrix factorizations on a smooth separated scheme of finite type over a field. The map is explicit enough to yield a negative cyclic Chern character formula for global matrix factorizations. We also extend these results to the equivariant case of a finite group.

Abel-Jacobi map under Schiffer variation

We characterize how to vary the Abel-Jacobi map in terms of Schiffer variation. From this characterization, we will interpret the relation of hyperellipticity of curves with Schiffer variation and describe the deformation of elliptic solitons under Schiffer variation.

Tangency and a ruled surface associated with a Hitchin system

We will generalize the Treibich-Verdier theory about elliptic solitons to a Hitchin system by constructing a particular ruled surface and we will propose a generalization of a tangency condition associated with elliptic solitons to a Hitchin system. In particular, we will calculate the dimension of the moduli space of Hitchin covers satisfying the tangency condition. With this new point of view, we will see a subtle relation between the characterizations of coverings and the singularities of divisors in a particular algebraic surface.

Hyperelliptic curves and Hitchin tangential covers

In \cite{kim11} we have generalized a tangency condition in the Treibich-Verdier theory \cite{trei89,tv90,trei97} about elliptic solitons to a Hitchin system. As an application of this generalization, we will define, so-called, Hitchin hyperelliptic tangential covers and show the finiteness of them among all Hitchin tangential covers.

The linear flows in the space of Krichever-Lax matrices over an algebraic curve

In \cite{kri02}, I. M. Krichever invented the space of matrices parametrizing the cotangent bundle of moduli space of stable vector bundles over a compact Riemann surface, which is named as the Hitchin system after the investigation \cite{hit87}. We study a necessary and sufficient condition for the linearity of flows on the space of Krichever-Lax matrices in a Lax representation in terms of cohomological classes using the similar technique and analysis from the work \cite{grif85} by P. A. Griffiths.
