Electron and muon $g-2$, radiative neutrino mass, and $\ell' \to \ell γ$ in a $U(1)_{e-μ}$ model

A nonconventional $U(1)_{e-μ}$ gauge model is proposed to explain the unexpected anomalous magnetic moments of the electron and muon (lepton $g-2$), where only the right-handed electron and muon in the standard model carry the $U(1)_{e-μ}$ charge. Although the light lepton masses are suppressed when the gauge symmetry is spontaneously broken, they can be generated through the Yukawa couplings to newly introduced particles, such as vector-like lepton doublets and singlet, and scalar singlets. It is found that the same Yukawa couplings combined with the new scalar couplings to the Higgs can induce the radiative lepton-flavor violation processes $\ell' \to \ell γ$ and lepton $g-2$, where the lepton $g-2$ is proportional to $m_{\ell}$. When Majorana fermions and a scalar singlet are further added into the model, the active neutrinos can obtain masses via the radiative seesaw mechanism. When the bounds from the $m_e$ and $m_μ$ and the neutrino data are satisfied, we find that the electron $g-2$ can reach an order of $-10^{-12}$, and the muon $g-2$ can be an order of $10^{-9}$. In addition, when the $μ\to e γ$ decay is suppressed, the resulting branching ratio for $τ\to e γ$ can be of $O(10^{-8})$, and that for $τ\to μγ$ can be as large as the current upper limit.

A radiatively induced neutrino mass model with hidden local $U(1)$ and LFV processes $\ell_i \to \ell_j γ$, $μ\to e Z'$ and $μe \to e e$

We investigate a model based on hidden $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry in which neutrino mass is induced at one-loop level by effects of interactions among particles in hidden sector and the Standard Model leptons. Neutrino mass generation is also associated with $U(1)_X$ breaking scale which is taken to be low to suppress neutrino mass. Then we formulate neutrino mass matrix, lepton flavor violating processes and muon $g-2$ which are induced via interactions among Standard Model leptons and particles in $U(1)_X$ hidden sector that can be sizable in our scenario. Carrying our numerical analysis, we show expected ratios for these processes when generated neutrino mass matrix can fit the neutrino data.

Search for $Z'$ pair production from scalar boson decay in minimal $U(1)_{L_μ- L_τ}$ model at the LHC

We consider a model with gauged $L_μ- L_τ$ symmetry in which the symmetry is spontaneously broken by a scalar field. The decay of the scalar boson into two new gauge bosons is studied as a direct consequence of the spontaneous symmetry breaking. Then, a possibility of searches for the gauge and scalar bosons through such a decay at the LHC experiment is discussed. We consider the case that the mass range of the gauge boson is $\mathcal{O}(10)$ GeV, which is motivated by anomalies reported by LHCb. We will show that the signal significance of the searches for the gauge boson and scalar boson reach to $3$ and $5$ for the scalar mixing $0.012$ and $0.015$, respectively.

Vector dark matter from a gauged $SU(2)$ symmetry

We propose a scenario of dark sector described by a hidden $SU(2)$ gauge symmetry which is broken by a vacuum expectation value(VEV) of a scalar multiplet. We discuss a general mass relation among $SU(2)$ gauge bosons after spontaneous symmetry breaking which is determined by weight of gauge group representation associated with a scalar multiplet developing VEV. Then a model with quintet and triplet scalar fields is discussed in which hidden gauge boson can be dark matter(DM) stabilized by remnant discrete $Z_2$ symmetry and resonant dark matter annihilation is realized by mass relation between DM and mediator. We estimate relic density and spin independent DM-nucleon scattering cross section searching for allowed parameter region.

Type II seesaw models with modular $A_4$ symmetry

We discuss type-II seesaw models adopting modular $A_4$ symmetry in supersymmetric framework. In our approach, the models are classified by the assignment of $A_4$ representations and modular weights for leptons and triplet Higgs fields. Then neutrino mass matrix is characterized by modulus $τ$ and two free parameters. Carrying out numerical analysis, we find allowed parameter sets which can fit the neutrino oscillation data. For the allowed parameter sets, we obtain the predictions in neutrino sector such as CP violating phases and the lightest neutrino mass. Finally we also show the predictions for the branching ratios of doubly charged scalar boson focusing on the case where the doubly charged scalar boson dominantly decays into charged leptons.

A two-loop induced neutrino mass model, dark matter, and LFV processes $\ell_i \to \ell_j γ$, and $μe \to e e$ in a hidden local $U(1)$ symmetry

We discuss a model based on a hidden $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry in which neutrino mass is induced at two-loop level by effects of interactions among particles in hidden sector and the Standard Model leptons. Since neutrino mass is suppressed by two-loop, its associate Yukawa couplings can be sizable and it would affect lepton flavor phenomenology. We analyze neutrino mass matrix, lepton flavor violating processes, electron/muon $g-2$ and dark matter annihilation cross section which are induced via interactions among Standard Model leptons and particles in $U(1)_X$ hidden sector, and their interactions can be sizable in our scenario. Performing numerical analysis, we show expected ratios for these processes using allowed parameters which can fit the neutrino data and satisfy flavor constraints.

Modular $A_4$ symmetric inverse seesaw model with $SU(2)_L$ multiplet fields

We propose an inverse seesaw model with large $SU(2)_L$ multiplets applying modular $A_4$ symmetry where $SU(2)_L$ quartet and septet fermions are introduced as triplets under the symmetry. The neutral components of the quartet contribute to mass matrix for inverse seesaw mechanism and interactions involving the septet induce Majorana mass terms of these extra fermions. Although there are several free parameters in the mass matrix we can obtain some predictions for observables in neutrino sector such as CP phases, sum of neutrino mass and effective mass for neutrinoless double beta decay, especially around fixed points of modulus motivated by string theories.

A radiative seesaw model linking to XENON1T anomaly

We propose an attractive model that excess of electron recoil events around 1-5 keV reported by the XENON1T collaboration nicely links to the tiny neutrino masses based on a radiative seesaw scenario. Our dark matter(DM) is an isospin singlet inert boson that plays an role in generating non-vanishing neutrino mass at one-loop level, and this DM inelastically interacts with a pair of electrons at one-loop level that is required to explain the XENON1T anomaly. It is also demanded that the mass difference between an excited DM and DM has to be of the order keV. Interestingly, the small mass difference $\sim$keV is proportional to the neutrino masses. It suggests that we have double suppressions through the tiny mass difference and the one-loop effect. Then, we show some benchmark points to explain the XENON1T anomaly, satisfying all the constraints such as the event ratio of electrons of XENON1T, a long lived particle be longer than the age of Universe, and relic density in addition to the neutrino oscillation data and lepton flavor violations(LFVs).

Dark matter physics in dark $SU(2)$ gauge symmetry with non-Abelian kinetic mixing

We investigate a model of dark sector based on non-Abelian $SU(2)_D$ gauge symmetry. This dark gauge symmetry is broken into discrete $Z_2$ via vacuum expectation values of two real triplet scalars, and an $SU(2)_D$ doublet Dirac fermion becomes $Z_2-$odd particles whose lighter component makes stable dark matter candidate. The standard model and dark sector can be connected via the scalar mixing and the gauge kinetic mixing generated by higher dimensional operators. We then discuss relic density of dark matter and implications to collider physics in the model. The most unique signatures of this model at the LHC would be the dark scalar ($Φ_1^{(')}$) productions where it subsequently decays into : (1) a fermionic dark matter ($χ_l$) and a heavy dark fermion ($χ_h$) pair, $Φ_1^{(')} \to \bar χ_l χ_h(\bar χ_h χ_l) $, followed by $χ_h$ decays into $χ_l$ and non-Abelian dark gauge bosons ($X_i$'s) which decays into SM fermion pair $\bar f_{SM} f_{SM}$ resulting in the reaction $p p \rightarrow Φ_1^{(')} \rightarrow \bar χ_h χ_l (\bar χ_l χ_h) \to f_{SM} \bar f_{SM} χ_l \bar χ_l $, (2) a pair of $X_i$'s followed by $X_i$ decays into a DM pair or the SM fermions resulting in the reaction, $p p \rightarrow Φ_1^{(')} \rightarrow X_i X_i \rightarrow \bar χ_l χ_l f_{SM} \bar f_{SM}$ or even number of $f_{SM} \bar{f}_{SM}$ pairs.

Axion and neutrino mass from a hidden gauge symmetry model

We propose a model of dark sector described by gauged hidden $U(1)_H$ symmetry in which neutrino masses are generated at one-loop level and axion is induced by assigning Peccei-Quinn charge to fermions in dark sector relevantly. Then our scenario connects exotic fermion mass generation, neutrino mass matrix and axion through scalar fields associated with $U(1)_H$ and Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking. We investigate neutrino mass formula, lepton flavor violation, anomalous magnetic moment of muon, dark matter relic density and axion couplings, which are originated from interactions among our dark sector and the standard model particles.

A modular $A_4$ symmetric scotogenic model

We propose a minimal extention of the Standard Model where neutrino masses are generated radiatively at one-loop level via Scotogenic scanario. The model is augmented with $A_4$ modular symmetry as a scotogenic and flavor symmetry. With minimal number of parameters, the model makes predictions for neutrino oscillation data, Majorana and Dirac phases, dark matter characteristics, and neutrinoless double beta decay.

Scotogenic neutrino mass with large $SU(2)_L$ multiplet fields

We construct a scotogenic neutrino mass model introducing large $SU(2)_L$ multiplet fields without adding an extra symmetry. We have introduced extra scalar fields such as a septet, quintet and quartet where we make the vacuum expectation value of quartet scalar to be zero while septet and quintet develop non-zero ones. Then the neutrino mass is generated at one-loop level by introducing quintet fermion. We analyze the neutrino mass matrix taking constraints from lepton flavor violation into account and discuss collider physics regarding charged fermions from large multiplet fields. We have analysed the production and the decays of the quintet fermions, as well as the discovery reach at 14 TeV and 27 TeV LHC.

Lepton specific two-Higgs-doublet model based on a $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry with dark matter

We discuss a two Higgs doublet model with extra $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry where lepton specific (type-X) structure for Yukawa interactions is realized by charge assignment of fields under the $U(1)_X$. Extra charged leptons are introduced to cancel gauge anomaly associated with extra gauge symmetry. In addition, we introduce scalar fields as dark matter candidates to which we assign $Z_2$ odd parity for guaranteeing stability of them. We then analyze phenomenology of the model such as scalar potential, muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment, collider physics associated with $Z'$ boson from $U(1)_X$, and dark matter physics. Carrying out numerical analysis we search for phenomenologically viable parameter region.

Seesaw model with hidden $SU(2)_H \times U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry

We propose a seesaw model with a hidden gauge symmetry $SU(2)_H \times U(1)_X$ where two types of standard model singlet fermions in realizing a seesaw mechanism are organized into $SU(2)_H$ doublet. Then we formulate scalar and gauge sector, neutrino mass matrix and lepton flavor violations. In our gauge sector, $Z$-$Z'$ mixing appears after spontaneous symmetry breaking and we investigate constraint from $ρ$-parameter. In addition we discuss $Z'$ production at the large hadron collider via $Z$-$Z'$ mixing, where $Z'$ tends to dominantly decay into heavy neutrinos.

An Inverse Seesaw model with $A_4$-modular symmetry

We discuss an inverse seesaw model based on right-handed fermion specific $U(1)$ gauge symmetry and $A_4$-modular symmetry. These symmetries forbid unnecessary terms and restrict structures of Yukawa interactions which are relevant to inverse seesaw mechanism. Then we can obtain some predictions in neutrino sector such as Dirac-CP phase and sum of neutrino mass, which are shown by our numerical analysis. Besides the relation among masses of heavy pseudo-Dirac neutrino can be obtained since it is also restricted by the modular symmetry. We also discuss implications to lepton flavor violation and collider physics in our model.

Radiatively scotogenic type-II seesaw and a relevant phenomenological analysis

When a small vacuum expectation value of Higgs triplet ($v_Δ$) in the type-II seesaw model is required to explain neutrino oscillation data, a fine-tuning issue occurs on the mass-dimension lepton-number-violation (LNV) scalar coupling. Using the scotogenic approach, we investigate how a small LNV term is arisen through a radiative correction when an $Z_2$-odd vector-like lepton ($X$) and an $Z_2$-odd right-handed Majorana lepton ($N$) are introduced to the type-II seesaw model. Due to the dark matter (DM) direct detection constraints, the available DM candidate is the right-handed Majorana particle, whose mass depends on and is close to the $m_X$ parameter. Combing the constraints from the DM measurements, the $h\to γγ$ decay, and the oblique $T$-parameter, it is found that the preferred range of $v_Δ$ is approximately in the region of $10^{-5}-10^{-4}$ GeV; the mass difference between the doubly and the singly charged Higgs is less than 50 GeV, and the influence on the $h\to Zγ$ is not significant. Using the constrained parameters, we analyze the decays of each Higgs triplet scalar in detail, including the possible three-body decays when the kinematic condition is allowed. It is found that with the exception of doubly charged Higgs, scalar mixing effects play an important role in the Higgs triplet two-body decays when the scalar masses are near-degenerate. In the non-degenerate mass region, the branching ratios of the Higgs triplet decays are dominated by the three-body decays.

A neutrino mass model with hidden $U(1)$ gauge symmetry

We propose a realisation of inverse seesaw model controlled by hidden $U(1)$ gauge symmetry, and discuss the impact of a bosonic dark matter (DM) candidate by imposing a $Z_2$ parity. We present the detail of scalar spectra and apply the Casas-Ibarra parametrisation to fit the neutrino oscillation data. For this model, the allowed region is extracted to explain the observed relic density and the muon $g-2$ discrepancy, satisfying flavor constraints with DM involved. We interpret the DM annihilation into $\bar f f $ including all SM charged fermions and investigate the direct detection to place the bound on DM-Higgs coupling. Finally the LHC DM production is explored in light of charged lepton pair signature plus missing transverse energy.
