Truncated Bernoulli-Carlitz and truncated Cauchy-Carlitz numbers

In this paper, we define the truncated Bernoulli-Carlitz numbers and the truncated Cauchy-Carlitz numbers as analogues of hypergeometric Bernoulli numbers and hypergeometric Cauchy numbers, and as extensions of Bernoulli-Carlitz numbers and the Cauchy-Carlitz numbers. These numbers can be expressed explicitly in terms of incomplete Stirling-Carlitz numbers.

Convolution identities for Tribonacci numbers with symmetric formulae

Many kinds of convolution identities have been considered about several numbers, including Bernoulli, Euler, Genocchi, Cauchy, Stirling, and Fibonacci numbers. The well-known basic result about Bernoulli numbers is due to Euler. The convolution identities have been studied. In this paper, we give convolution identities for Tribonacci numbers without binomial coefficients and with binomial coefficients. Convolution identities of Fiboancci numbers or Lucas numbers can be expressed in the form of linear combinations of Fibonacci numbers and Lucas numbers only. Fibonacci numbers and Lucas numbers are in pairs with different values. Covolution identities of Tribonacci numbers can be expressed in the linear combination of several Tribonacci numbers with different values. Symmetric formulas are basic tools for these expressions.

Higher-order identities for balancing numbers

Let $B_n$ be the $n$-th balancing number. In this paper, we give some explicit expressions of $\sum_{l=0}^{2 r-3}(-1)^l\binom{2 r-3}{l}\sum_{j_1+\cdots+j_r=n-2 l\atop j_1,\dots,j_r\ge 1}B_{j_1}\cdots B_{j_r}$ and $\sum_{j_1+\cdots+j_r=n\atop j_1,\dots,j_r\ge 1}B_{j_1}\cdots B_{j_r}$. We also consider the convolution identities with binomial coefficients: $$ \sum_{k_1+\cdots+k_r=n\atop k_1,\dots,k_r\ge 1}\binom{n}{k_1,\dots,k_r}B_{k_1}\cdots B_{k_r} $$ This type can be generalized, so that $B_n$ is a special case of the number $u_n$, where $u_n=a u_{n-1}+b u_{n-2}$ ($n\ge 2$) with $u_0=0$ and $u_1=1$.

New Characterization of Appell polynomials

We prove characterizations of Appell polynomials by means of symmetric property. For these polynomials, we establish a simple linear expression in terms of Bernoulli and Euler polynomials. As applications, we give interesting examples. In addition, from our study, we obtain Fourier expansions of Appell polynomials. This result recovers Fourier expansions known for Bernoulli and Euler polynomials and obtains the Fourier expansions for higher order Bernoulli-Euler's one.

On Multi Poly-Bernoulli Polynomials

In this paper, we define multi poly-Bernoulli polynomials using multiple polylogarithm and derive some properties parallel to those of poly-Bernoulli polynomials. Furthermore, an explicit formula for certain Hurwitz-Lerch type multi poly-Bernoulli polynomials is established using the $r$-Whitney numbers of the second kind.

The log-convexity of the poly-Cauchy numbers

In 2013, Komatsu introduced the poly-Cauchy numbers, which generalize Cauchy numbers. Several generalizations of poly-Cauchy numbers have been considered since then. One particular type of generalizations is that of multiparameter-poly-Cauchy numbers. In this paper, we study the log-convexity of the multiparameter-poly-Cauchy numbers of the first kind and of the second kind. In addition, we also discuss the log-behavior of multiparameter-poly-Cauchy numbers.

A $(p,q)$-Analogue of Poly-Euler Polynomials and Some Related Polynomials

In the present article, we introduce a $(p,q)$-analogue of the poly-Euler polynomials and numbers by using the $(p,q)$-polylogarithm function. These new sequences are generalizations of the poly-Euler numbers and polynomials. We give several combinatorial identities and properties of these new polynomials. Moreover, we show some relations with the $(p,q)$-poly-Bernoulli polynomials and $(p,q)$-poly-Cauchy polynomials. The $(p,q)$-analogues generalize the well-known concept of the $q$-analogue.

On Generalized Multi Poly-Euler and Multi Poly-Bernoulli Polynomials

In this paper, we establish more identities of generalized multi poly-Euler polynomials with three parameters and obtain a kind of symmetrized generalization of the polynomials. Moreover, generalized multi poly-Bernoulli polynomials are defined using multiple polylogarithm and derive some properties parallel to those of poly-Bernoulli polynomials. These are generalized further using the concept of Hurwitz-Lerch multiple zeta values.

On a divisibility relation for Lucas sequences

In this note, we study the divisibility relation $U_m\mid U_{n+k}^s-U_n^s$, where ${\bf U}:=\{U_n\}_{n\ge 0}$ is the Lucas sequence of characteristic polynomial $x^2-ax\pm 1$ and $k,m,n,s$ are positive integers.

Cauchy-Carlitz numbers

In 1935 Carlitz introduced Bernoulli-Carlitz numbers as analogues of Bernoulli numbers for the rational function field $\mathbb F_r(T)$. In this paper, we introduce Cauchy-Carlitz numbers as analogues of Cauchy numbers. By using Stirling-Carlitz numbers, we give their arithmetical and combinatorial properties and relations with Bernoulli-Carlitz numbers for $\mathbb F_r(T)$. Several new identities are also obtained by using Hasse-Teichimüller derivatives.

Incomplete poly-Bernoulli numbers associated with incomplete Stirling numbers

By using the associated and restricted Stirling numbers of the second kind, we give some generalizations of the poly-Bernoulli numbers. We also study their arithmetical and combinatorial properties. As an application, at the end of the paper we present a new infinite series representation of the Riemann zeta function via the Lambert $W$.

$q$-poly-Bernoulli numbers and $q$-poly-Cauchy numbers with a parameter by Jackson's integrals

We define $q$-poly-Bernoulli polynomials $B_{n,ρ,q}^{(k)}(z)$ with a parameter $ρ$, $q$-poly-Cauchy polynomials of the first kind $c_{n,ρ,q}^{(k)}(z)$ and of the second kind $\widehat c_{n,ρ,q}^{(k)}(z)$ with a parameter $ρ$ by Jackson's integrals, which generalize the previously known numbers and polynomials, including poly-Bernoulli numbers $B_n^{(k)}$ and the poly-Cauchy numbers of the first kind $c_n^{(k)}$ and of the second kind $\widehat c_n^{(k)}$. We investigate their properties connected with usual Stirling numbers and weighted Stirling numbers. We also give the relations between generalized poly-Bernoulli polynomials and two kinds of generalized poly-Cauchy polynomials.

Barnes-type Daehee polynomials

In this paper, we consider Barnes-type Daehee polynomials of the first kind and of the second kind. From the properties of Sheffer sequences of these polynomials arising from umbral calculus, we derive new and interesting identities.

Upper bounds on cyclotomic numbers

In this article, we give upper bounds for cyclotomic numbers of order e over a finite field with q elements, where e is a divisor of q-1. In particular, we show that under certain assumptions, cyclotomic numbers are at most $\lceil\frac{k}{2}\rceil$, and the cyclotomic number (0,0) is at most $\lceil\frac{k}{2}\rceil-1$, where k=(q-1)/e. These results are obtained by using a known formula for the determinant of a matrix whose entries are binomial coefficients.

Self-Consistent-Field Method and $τ$-Functional Method on Group Manifold in Soliton Theory: a Review and New Results

The maximally-decoupled method has been considered as a theory to apply an basic idea of an integrability condition to certain multiple parametrized symmetries. The method is regarded as a mathematical tool to describe a symmetry of a collective submanifold in which a canonicity condition makes the collective variables to be an orthogonal coordinate-system. For this aim we adopt a concept of curvature unfamiliar in the conventional time-dependent (TD) self-consistent field (SCF) theory. Our basic idea lies in the introduction of a sort of Lagrange manner familiar to fluid dynamics to describe a collective coordinate-system. This manner enables us to take a one-form which is linearly composed of a TD SCF Hamiltonian and infinitesimal generators induced by collective variable differentials of a canonical transformation on a group. The integrability condition of the system read the curvature C=0. Our method is constructed manifesting itself the structure of the group under consideration. >...
