Effect of Degenerate Particles on Internal Bremsstrahlung of Majorana Dark Matter

Gamma-rays induced by annihilation or decay of dark matter can be its smoking gun signature. In particular, gamma-rays generated by internal bremsstrahlung of Majorana and real scalar dark matter is promising since it can be a leading emission of sharp gamma-rays. However in the case of Majorana dark matter, its cross section for internal bremsstrahlung cannot be large enough to be observed by future gamma-ray experiments if the observed relic density is assumed to be thermally produced. In this paper, we introduce some degenerate particles with Majorana dark matter, and show they lead enhancement of the cross section. As a result, increase of about one order of magnitude for the cross section is possible without conflict with the observed relic density, and it would be tested by the future gamma-ray experiments such as GAMMA-400 and Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). In addition, the constraints of perturbativity, positron observation by the AMS experiment and direct search for dark matter are discussed.

Impact of Semi-annihilation of Z3 Symmetric Dark Matter with Radiative Neutrino Masses

We investigate a Z3 symmetric model with two-loop radiative neutrino masses. Dark matter in the model is either a Dirac fermion or a complex scalar as a result of an unbroken Z3 symmetry. In addition to standard annihilation processes, semi-annihilation of the dark matter contributes to the relic density. We study the effect of the semi-annihilation in the model and and that those contributions are important to obtain the observed relic density. The experimental signatures in dark matter searches are also discussed, where some of them are expected to be different from the signatures of dark matter in Z2 symmetric models.

3.55 keV X-ray Line Signal from Excited Dark Matter in Radiative Neutrino Model

We study an exciting dark matter scenario in a radiative neutrino model to explain the X-ray line signal at $3.55$ keV recently reported by XMN-Newton X-ray observatory using data of various galaxy clusters and Andromeda galaxy. We show that the required large cross section for the up-scattering process to explain the X-ray line can be obtained via the resonance of the pseudo-scalar. Moreover this model can be compatible with the thermal production of dark matter and the constraint from the direct detection experiment.

Inert Extension of the Zee-Babu Model

We propose a two-loop induced Zee-Babu type neutrino mass model at the TeV scale. Although there is no dark matter candidate in the original Zee-Babu model, that is contained in our model by introducing an unbroken discrete $Z_2$ symmetry. The discrepancy between the experimental value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon $g-2$) and its prediction in the standard model can be explained by contributions from additional vector-like charged-leptons which are necessary to give non-zero neutrino masses. The mass of vector-like leptons to be slightly above 300 GeV is favored and allowed from the muon $g-2$ and the current LHC data. We find that from the structure of neutrino mass matrix, doubly-charged scalar bosons in our model can mainly decay into the same-sign and same-flavour dilepton plus missing transverse momentum. By measuring an excess of these events at the LHC, our model can be distinguished from the other models including doubly-charged scalar bosons.

Sharp Gamma-ray Spectral Features from Scalar Dark Matter Annihilations

The search for sharp features in the gamma-ray spectrum is a promising approach to identify a signal from dark matter annihilations over the astrophysical backgrounds. In this paper we investigate the generation of gamma-ray lines and internal bremsstrahlung signals in a toy model where the dark matter particle is a real scalar that couples to a lepton and an exotic fermion via a Yukawa coupling. We show that the Fermi-LAT and H.E.S.S. searches for line-like spectral features severely constrain regions of the parameter space where the scalar dark matter is thermally produced. Finally, we also discuss the complementarity of the searches for sharp spectral features with other indirect dark matter searches, as well as with direct and collider searches.

Two Loop Neutrino Model and Dark Matter Particles with Global $B-L$ Symmetry

We study a two loop induced seesaw model with global $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry, in which we consider two component dark matter particles. The dark matter properties are investigated together with some phenomenological constraints such as electroweak precision test, neutrino masses and mixing and lepton flavor violation. In particular, the mixing angle between the Standard Model like Higgs and an extra Higgs is extremely restricted by the direct detection experiment of dark matter. We also discuss the contribution of Goldstone boson to the effective number of neutrino species $ΔN_{\rm eff}\approx0.39$ which has been reported by several experiments.

Radiative Lepton Model and Dark Matter with Global $U(1)'$ Symmetry

We propose a radiative lepton model, in which the charged lepton masses are generated at one-loop level, and the neutrino masses are induced at two-loop level. On the other hand, tau mass is derived at tree level since it is too heavy to generate radiatively. Then we discuss muon anomalous magnetic moment together with the constraint of lepton flavor violation. A large muon magnetic moment is derived due to the vector like charged fermions which are newly added to the standard model. In addition, considering a scalar dark matter in our model, a strong gamma-ray signal is produced by dark matter annihilation via internal bremsstrahlung. We can also obtain the effective neutrino number by the dark radiation of the Goldstone boson coming from the imposed global $U(1)'$ symmetry.

Lepton Flavor Violation in the Scotogenic Model

We investigate lepton flavor violation in the scotogenic model proposed by Ma in which neutrinos acquire non-zero masses at the 1-loop level. Although some works exist in this direction, they have mainly focused on the radiative decay $\ell_α\to \ell_βγ$. Motivated by the promising new projects involving other low-energy processes, we derive complete analytical expressions for $\ell_α\to 3 \, \ell_β$ and $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei, and numerically study their impact on the phenomenology. We will show that these processes can actually have rates larger than the one for $\ell_α\to \ell_βγ$, thus providing more stringent constraints and better experimental perspectives.

New Interpretation of the Recent Result of AMS-02 and Multi-component Decaying Dark Matters with non-Abelian Discrete Flavor Symmetry

Recently the AMS-02 experiment has released the data of positron fraction with much small statistical error. Because of the small error, it is no longer easy to fit the data with a single dark matter for a fixed diffusion model and dark matter profile. In this paper, we propose a new interpretation of the data that it originates from decay of two dark matter. This interpretation gives a rough threshold of the lighter DM component. When DM decays into leptons, the positron fraction in the cosmic ray depends on the flavor of the final states, and this is fixed by imposing non-Abelian discrete symmetry in our model. By assuming two gauge-singlet fermionic decaying DM particles, we show that a model with non-Abelian discrete flavor symmetry, e.g. $T_{13}$, can give a much better fitting to the AMS-02 data compared with single dark matter scenario. Few dimension six operators of universal leptonic decay of DM particles are allowed in our model since its decay operators are constrained by the $T_{13}$ symmetry. We also show that the lepton masses and mixings are consistent with current experimental data, due to the flavor symmetry.

Internal Bremsstrahlung Signature of Real Scalar Dark Matter and Consistency with Thermal Relic Density

A gamma-ray excess from the galactic center consistent with line emission around 130 GeV was recently found in the Fermi-LAT data. Although the Fermi-LAT Collaboration has not confirmed its significance, such a signal would be a clear signature of Dark Matter annihilation. Until now, there have been many attempts to explain the excess by Dark Matter. However these efforts tend to give too-small cross sections into photons if consistency with the correct thermal relic density of Dark Matter is required. In this letter, we consider a simple Yukawa interaction that can be compatible with both aspects and show which parameters are favored.

Multicomponent dark matter particles in a two-loop neutrino model

We construct a loop induced seesaw model in a TeV scale theory with gauged U(1)_{B-L} symmetry. Light neutrino masses are generated at two-loop level and right-handed neutrinos also obtain their masses by one-loop effect. Multi-component Dark Matters (DMs) are included in our model due to the remnant discrete symmetry after the B-L symmetry breaking and the Z_2 parity which is originally imposed to the model. We investigate the multi-component DM properties, in which we have two fermionic DMs with different mass scales, O(10) GeV and O(100-1000) GeV. The former mass corresponds to the lightest right-handed neutrino mass induced by the loop effect, although the latter one to the SM gauge singlet fermion. We show each of the DM annihilation processes and compare to the the observation of relic abundance, together with the constraints of Lepton Flavor Violation (LFV) and active neutrino masses. Moreover we show that our model has some parameter region allowed by the direct detection result reported by XENON100, and it is possible to verify the model by the future XENON experiment.

Observing Higgs boson production through its decay into gamma-rays: A messenger for Dark Matter candidates

In this Letter, we study the gamma-ray signatures subsequent to the production of a Higgs boson in space by dark matter annihilations. We investigate the cases where the Higgs boson is produced at rest or slightly boosted and show that such configurations can produce characteristic bumps in the gamma-ray data. These results are relevant in the case of the Standard Model-like Higgs boson provided that the dark matter mass is about 63 GeV, 109 GeV or 126 GeV, but can be generalised to any other Higgs boson masses. Here, we point out that it may be worth looking for a 63 GeV line since it could be the signature of the decay of a Standard Model-like Higgs boson produced in space, as in the case of a di-Higgs final state if m_DM ~ 126 GeV. We show that one can set generic constraints on the Higgs boson production rates using its decay properties. In particular, using the Fermi-LAT data from the galactic center, we find that the dark matter annihilation cross section into gamma + a Standard Model-like Higgs boson produced at rest or near rest cannot exceed ~ a few 10^-25 cm^3/s or ~ a few 10^-27 cm^3/s respectively, providing us with information on the Higgs coupling to the dark matter particle. We conclude that Higgs bosons can indeed be used as messengers to explore the dark matter mass range.

Gamma-rays Constraint on Higgs Production from Dark Matter Annihilation

A gamma line signal in cosmic-ray observation would be found when Higgs is produced at rest or almost rest by DM annihilation because of decay of 126 GeV Higgs into two gamma. This line signal gives a constraint on Higgs production cross section by DM. We examine this point with simple analysis in this work.

We study a radiative inverse seesaw model with local B-L symmetry, in which we extend the neutrino mass structure that is generated through a kind of inverse seesaw framework to the more generic one than our previous work. We focus on a real part of bosonic particle as a dark matter and investigate the features in O(1-80) GeV mass range, reported by the experiments such as CoGeNT and XENON (2012).

Fermionic Dark Matter in Radiative Inverse Seesaw Model with U(1)_{B-L}

We construct a radiative inverse seesaw model with local B-L symmetry, and investigate the flavor structure of the lepton sector and the fermionic Dark Matter. Neutrino masses are radiatively generated through a kind of inverse seesaw framework. The PMNS matrix is derived from each mixing matrix of the neutrino and charged lepton sector with large Dirac CP phase. We show that the annihilation processes via the interactions with Higgses which are independent on the lepton flavor violation, have to be dominant in order to satisfy the observed relic abundance by WMAP. The new interactions with Higgses allow us to be consistent with the direct detection result reported by XENON100, and it is possible to verify the model by the exposure of XENON100 (2012).

Can A Higgs Portal Dark Matter be Compatible with the Anti-proton Cosmic-ray?

Recent direct detection experiments of Dark Matter (DM), CoGeNT and DAMA implicate a light DM of a few GeV. Such a light DM would generate a large amount of anti-proton since suppression for anti-proton flux from DM annihilation is ineffective. We discuss whether a light dark matter with mass of 5-15 GeV, which is especially in favor of the recent experiments reported by CoGeNT, is compatible with the anti-proton no excess in the cosmic-ray. In view of the direct detection of DM and no anti-proton excess in the cosmic-ray both, we show that a Dirac DM is favored than a scalar one since there is no s-wave of the annihilation cross section for the Dirac DM. A large elastic cross section for direct detection can be obtained through the additional light Higgs exchange. We show an allowed region that simultaneously satisfies the DM relic density, the elastic cross section favored by CoGeNT and also the constraint of H_L Z Z coupling of the light Higgs boson by LEP.

Direct Detection of Leptophilic Dark Matter in a Model with Radiative Neutrino Masses

We consider an electro-weak scale model for Dark Matter (DM) and radiative neutrino mass generation. Despite the leptophilic nature of DM with no direct couplings to quarks and gluons, scattering with nuclei is induced at the 1-loop level through photon exchange. Effectively, there are charge-charge, dipole-charge and dipole-dipole interactions. We investigate the parameter space consistent with constraints from neutrino masses and mixing, charged lepton-flavour violation, perturbativity, and the thermal production of the correct DM abundance, and calculate the expected event rate in DM direct detection experiments. We show that current data from XENON100 start to constrain certain regions of the allowed parameter space, whereas future data from XENON1T has the potential to significantly probe the model.
