On the Ando-Hiai property for spectral geometric means

In this paper, we consider a two-variable operator function that includes two weighted spectral geometric means, and show fundamental properties of the operator function. Moreover, it satisfies the Ando-Hiai type inequality under some restricted conditions. As an application, we show the log-majorization relations and norm inequalities for the spectral geometric means of positive definite matrices.

Limit of iteration of the induced Aluthge transformations of centered operators

Aluthge transform is a well-known mapping defined on bounded linear operators. Especially, the convergence property of its iteration has been studied by many authors. In this paper, we discuss the problem for the induced Aluthge transforms which is a generalization of the Aluthge transform defined in 2021. We give the polar decomposition of the induced Aluthge transformations of centered operators and show its iteration converges to a normal operator. In particular, if $T$ is an invertible centered matrix, then iteration of any induced Aluthge transformations converges. Using the canonical standard form of matrix algebras we show that the iteration of any induced Aluthge transformations with respect to the weighted arithmetic mean and the power mean converge. Those observation are extended to the $C^*$-algebra of compact operators on an infinite dimensional Hilbert space, and as an application we show the stability of $\mathcal{AN}$ and $\mathcal{AM}$ properties under the iteration of the induced Aluthge transformations. We also provide concrete forms of their limit points for centered matrices and several examples. Moreover, we discuss the limit point of the induced Aluthge transformation with respect to the power mean in the injective $II_1$-factor $\mathcal{M}$ and determine the form of its limit for some centered operators in $\mathcal{M}$.

Joint numerical radius of spherical Aluthge transforms of tuples of Hilbert space operators

Let $\mathbf{T}=(T_1,\ldots,T_d)$ be a $d$-tuple of operators on a complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$. The spherical Aluthge transform of $\mathbf{T}$ is the $d$-tuple given by $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}:=(\sqrt{P}V_1\sqrt{P},\ldots,\sqrt{P}V_d\sqrt{P})$ where $P:=\sqrt{T_1^*T_1+\ldots+T_d^*T_d}$ and $(V_1,\ldots,V_d)$ is a joint partial isometry such that $T_k=V_k P$ for all $1 \le k \le d$. In this paper, we prove several inequalities involving the joint numerical radius and the joint operator norm of $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}$. Moreover, a characterization of the joint spectral radius of an operator tuple $\mathbf{T}$ via $n$-th iterated of spherical Aluthge transform is established.

A generalization of the Aluthge transformation in the viewpoint of operator means

The Aluthge transformation is generalized in the viewpoint of the axiom of operator means by using double operator integrals. It includes the mean transformation which is defined by S. H. Lee, W. Y. Lee and Yoon. Next we shall give some properties of it. Especially, we shall show that the $n$-th iteration of mean transformation of an invertible matrix converges to a normal matrix. Inclusion relations among numerical ranges of generalized Aluthge transformations respect to some operator means are considered.

Cartesian decomposition and Numerical radius inequalities

We show that if $T=H+iK$ is the Cartesian decomposition of $T\in \mathbb{B(\mathscr{H})}$, then for $α,β\in \mathbb{R}$, $\sup_{α^{2}+β^{2}=1}\Vert αH+βK\Vert =w(T)$. We then apply it to prove that if $A,B,X\in \mathbb{B(\mathscr{H})}$ and $0\leq mI\leq X$, then \begin{align*} m\Vert \mbox{Re}(A)-\mbox{Re}(B)\Vert & \leq w(\mbox{Re}(A)X-X\mbox{Re}(B)) \\ & \leq \frac{1}{2}\sup_{θ\in \mathbb{R}}\left\Vert (AX-XB)+e^{iθ}(XA-BX)\right\Vert \\ & \leq \frac{\Vert AX-XB\Vert +\Vert XA-BX\Vert }{2}, \end{align*} where $\mbox{Re}(T)$ denotes the real part of an operator $T$. A refinement of the triangle inequality is also shown.

Some generalized numerical radius inequalities for Hilbert space operators

We generalize several inequalities involving powers of the numerical radius for product of two operators acting on a Hilbert space. For any $A, B, X\in \mathbb{B}(\mathscr{H})$ such that $A,B$ are positive, we establish some numerical radius inequalities for $A^αXB^α$ and $A^αX B^{1-α}\,\,(0 \leq α\leq 1)$ and Heinz means under mild conditions.
