In this paper, we investigate Fano manifolds whose Chern characters satisfy some positivity conditions. We prove that such manifolds admit long chains of higher order minimal families of rational curves and are covered by higher rational varieties.
Bright sources of polarization-entangled photon pairs are essential components for quantum information technologies. In general, it is necessary to introduce a resonator that combines active optical components such as an electric optical modulator to enhance the stimulated emission of polarization-entangled photons. It is technically difficult to perform the time series operation to output the stimulated entangled photons in the resonator by synchronizing laser pulses. In this paper, we propose a scheme to scale up the stimulated emission of polarization-entangled photon pairs using a resonator with only passive optical components. We show the theoretical aspects of the scheme and also perform a proof-of-principle experimental demonstration of the scheme in a double-pass configuration.
For a smooth projective variety $X$, we consider when the diagonal $Δ_X$ is nef as a cycle on $X\times X$. In particular, we give a classification of complete intersections and smooth del Pezzo varieties where the diagonal is nef. We also study the nefness of the diagonal for spherical varieties.
For an embedded Fano manifold $X$, we introduce a new invariant $S_X$ related to the dimension of covering linear spaces. The aim of this paper is to classify Fano manifolds $X$ which have large $S_X$.
A generalization of S. Mukai's conjecture says that if $X$ is a Fano $n$-fold with Picard number $ρ_X$ and pseudo-index $i_X$, then $ρ_X(i_X-1) \leq n$, with equality if and only if $X \cong (\mathbb{P}^{i_X-1})^{ρ_X}$. In this paper, we prove that this conjecture holds if $n=6$ and either $X$ admits a contraction of fiber type or $X$ admits no small contractions.
In this paper, we investigate higher order minimal families $H_i$ of rational curves associated to Fano manifolds $X$. We prove that $H_i$ is also a Fano manifold if the Chern characters of $X$ satisfy some positivity conditions. We also provide a sufficient condition for Fano manifolds to be covered by higher rational manifolds.
