Tilting-connected symmetric algebras

The notion of silting mutation was introduced by Iyama and the author. In this paper we mainly study silting mutation for self-injective algebras and prove that any representation-finite symmetric algebra is tilting-connected. Moreover we give some sufficient conditions for a Bongartz-type Lemma to hold for silting objects.

Generators and dimensions of derived categories

Several years ago, Bondal, Rouquier and Van den Bergh introduced the notion of the dimension of a triangulated category, and Rouquier proved that the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves on a separated scheme of finite type over a perfect field has finite dimension. In this paper, we study the dimension of the bounded derived category of finitely generated modules over a commutative Noetherian ring. The main result of this paper asserts that it is finite over a complete local ring containing a field with perfect residue field. Our methods also give a ring-theoretic proof of the affine case of Rouquier's theorem.

Silting mutation in triangulated categories

In representation theory of algebras the notion of `mutation' often plays important roles, and two cases are well known, i.e. `cluster tilting mutation' and `exceptional mutation'. In this paper we focus on `tilting mutation', which has a disadvantage that it is often impossible, i.e. some of summands of a tilting object can not be replaced to get a new tilting object. The aim of this paper is to take away this disadvantage by introducing `silting mutation' for silting objects as a generalization of `tilting mutation'. We shall develope a basic theory of silting mutation. In particular, we introduce a partial order on the set of silting objects and establish the relationship with `silting mutation' by generalizing the theory of Riedtmann-Schofield and Happel-Unger. We show that iterated silting mutation act transitively on the set of silting objects for local, hereditary or canonical algebras. Finally we give a bijection between silting subcategories and certain t-structures.

Mutating Brauer trees

In this paper we introduce mutation of Brauer trees. We show that our mutation of Brauer trees explicitly describes the tilting mutation of Brauer tree algebras introduced by Okuyama and Rickard.
