An Estimation of Favorite Value in Emotion Generating Calculation by Fuzzy Petri Net

Emotion Generating Calculations (EGC) method based on the Emotion Eliciting Condition Theory can decide whether an event arouses pleasure or not and quantify the degree under the event. An event in the form of Case Frame representation is classified into 12 types of calculations. However, the weak point in EGC is Favorite Value (FV) as the personal taste information. In order to improve the problem, this paper challenges to establish a learning method to learn speaker's taste information from dialog. Especially, the learning method employs Fuzzy Petri Net to find an appropriate FV to a word which has the unknown FV. This paper discusses the effective learning method to improve a weak point of EGC when a missing value of FV exists.

Affective Recommendation System for Tourists by Using Emotion Generating Calculations

An emotion orientated intelligent interface consists of Emotion Generating Calculations (EGC) and Mental State Transition Network (MSTN). We have developed the Android EGC application software which the agent works to evaluate the feelings in the conversation. In this paper, we develop the tourist information system which can estimate the user's feelings at the sightseeing spot. The system can recommend the sightseeing spot and the local food corresponded to the user's feeling. The system calculates the recommendation list by the estimate function which consists of Google search results, the important degree of a term at the sightseeing website, and the the aroused emotion by EGC. In order to show the effectiveness, this paper describes the experimental results for some situations during Hiroshima sightseeing.

An Adaptive Learning Method of Personality Trait Based Mood in Mental State Transition Network by Recurrent Neural Network

Mental State Transition Network (MSTN) is a basic concept of approximating to human psychological and mental responses. A stimulus calculated by Emotion Generating Calculations (EGC) method can cause the transition of mood from an emotional state to others. In this paper, the agent can interact with human to realize smooth communication by an adaptive learning method of the user's personality trait based mood. The learning method consists of the profit sharing (PS) method and the recurrent neural network (RNN). An emotion for sensor inputs to MSTN is calculated by EGC and the variance of emotion leads to the change of mental state, and then the sequence of states forms an episode. In order to learn the tendency of personality trait effectively, the ineffective rules should be removed from the episode. PS method finds out a detour in episode and should be deleted. Furthermore, RNN works to realize the variance of user's mood. Some experimental results were shown the success of representing a various human's delicate emotion.

Recommendation System of Grants-in-Aid for Researchers by using JSPS Keyword

An acquisition of a research grant is important for the researchers to conduct a research. The university will build up the organization and reinforce the acquirement of external funds. The researcher becomes aware of grant information and should investigate what kinds of grant it is. Therefore, the staff at the support center for the Industry-Academia collaboration will classify the grant into some categories according to the research fields. However, the task is difficult to realize the matching of the research fields, because the expert knowledge is required to completely classify them. We have developed recommendation system of Grant-in-Aid system for researchers by using JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) keywords. The characteristic keywords are extracted from web sites and then the association rules between researchers and grants are determined in the IF-THEN rule format. This paper discusses the experimental results by using the developed system.

Analysis of the Social Community Based on the Network Growing Model in Open Source Software Community

The social community in open source software developers has a complex network structure. The network structure represents the relations between the project and the engineer in the software developer's community. A project forms some teams which consist of engineers categorized into some task group. Source Forge is well known to be one of open source websites. The node and arc in the network structure means the engineer and their connection among engineers in the Source Forge. In the previous study, we found the growing process of project becomes strong according to the number of developers joining into the project. In the growing phase, we found some characteristic patterns between the number of agents and the produced projects. By such observations, we developed a simulation model of performing the growing process of project. In this paper, we introduced the altruism behavior as shown in the Army Ant model into the software developer's simulation model. The efficiency of the software developing process was investigated by some experimental simulation results.

A Generation Method of Immunological Memory in Clonal Selection Algorithm by using Restricted Boltzmann Machines

Recently, a high technique of image processing is required to extract the image features in real time. In our research, the tourist subject data are collected from the Mobile Phone based Participatory Sensing (MPPS) system. Each record consists of image files with GPS, geographic location name, user's numerical evaluation, and comments written in natural language at sightseeing spots where a user really visits. In our previous research, the famous landmarks in sightseeing spot can be detected by Clonal Selection Algorithm with Immunological Memory Cell (CSAIM). However, some landmarks was not detected correctly by the previous method because they didn't have enough amount of information for the feature extraction. In order to improve the weakness, we propose the generation method of immunological memory by Restricted Boltzmann Machines. To verify the effectiveness of the method, some experiments for classification of the subjective data are executed by using machine learning tools for Deep Learning.

A Proposal of Interactive Growing Hierarchical SOM

Self Organizing Map is trained using unsupervised learning to produce a two-dimensional discretized representation of input space of the training cases. Growing Hierarchical SOM is an architecture which grows both in a hierarchical way representing the structure of data distribution and in a horizontal way representation the size of each individual maps. The control method of the growing degree of GHSOM by pruning off the redundant branch of hierarchy in SOM is proposed in this paper. Moreover, the interface tool for the proposed method called interactive GHSOM is developed. We discuss the computation results of Iris data by using the developed tool.

Hierarchical Modular Reinforcement Learning Method and Knowledge Acquisition of State-Action Rule for Multi-target Problem

Hierarchical Modular Reinforcement Learning (HMRL), consists of 2 layered learning where Profit Sharing works to plan a prey position in the higher layer and Q-learning method trains the state-actions to the target in the lower layer. In this paper, we expanded HMRL to multi-target problem to take the distance between targets to the consideration. The function, called `AT field', can estimate the interests for an agent according to the distance between 2 agents and the advantage/disadvantage of the other agent. Moreover, the knowledge related to state-action rules is extracted by C4.5. The action under the situation is decided by using the acquired knowledge. To verify the effectiveness of proposed method, some experimental results are reported.

Early Discovery of Chronic Non-attenders by Using NFC Attendance Management System

Near Field Communication (NFC) standards cover communications protocols and data exchange formats. They are based on existing radio-frequency identification (RFID) standards. In Japan, Felica card is a popular way to identify the unique ID. Recently, the attendance management system (AMS) with RFID technology has been developed as a part of Smart University, which is the educational infrastructure using high technologies, such as ICT. However, the reader/writer for Felica is too expensive to build the AMS. NFC technology includes not only Felica but other type of IC chips. The Android OS 2.3 and the later can provide access to NFC functionality. Therefore, we developed AMS for university with NFC on Nexus 7. Because Nexus 7 is a low cost smart tablet, a teacher can determine to use familiarly. Especially, this paper describes the method of early discovery for chronic non-attenders by using the AMS system on 2 or more Nexus 7 which is connected each other via peer-to-peer communication. The attendance situation collected from different Nexus 7 is merged into a SQLite file and then, the document is reported to operate with the trunk system in educational affairs section.

Clustering and Retrieval Method of Immunological Memory Cell in Clonal Selection Algorithm

The clonal selection principle explains the basic features of an adaptive immune response to a antigenic stimulus. It established the idea that only those cells that recognize the antigens are selected to proliferate and differentiate. This paper explains a computational implementation of the clonal selection principle that explicitly takes into account the affinity maturation of the immune response. Antibodies generated by the clonal selection algorithm are clustered in some categories according to the affinity maturation, so that immunological memory cells which respond to the specified pathogen are created. Experimental results to classify the medical database of Coronary Heart Disease databases are reported. For the dataset, our proposed method shows the 99.6\% classification capability of training data.

A Clonal Selection Algorithm with Levenshtein Distance based Image Similarity in Multidimensional Subjective Tourist Information and Discovery of Cryptic Spots by Interactive GHSOM

Mobile Phone based Participatory Sensing (MPPS) system involves a community of users sending personal information and participating in autonomous sensing through their mobile phones. Sensed data can also be obtained from external sensing devices that can communicate wirelessly to the phone. Our developed tourist subjective data collection system with Android smartphone can determine the filtering rules to provide the important information of sightseeing spot. The rules are automatically generated by Interactive Growing Hierarchical SOM. However, the filtering rules related to photograph were not generated, because the extraction of the specified characteristics from images cannot be realized. We propose the effective method of the Levenshtein distance to deduce the spatial proximity of image viewpoints and thus determine the specified pattern in which images should be processed. To verify the proposed method, some experiments to classify the subjective data with images are executed by Interactive GHSOM and Clonal Selection Algorithm with Immunological Memory Cells in this paper.
