On the entropy corrected thermal features of black holes

In this work, we investigate the thermal properties of black holes using a new class of generalized entropy functions [K. Ourabah, Class. Quantum Grav., 41, 015010 (2024)]. At the fundamental level, these entropic forms are associated with alternative gravitational laws, within an entropic gravity framework. Our investigation revolves around three distinct entropy functions associated with the Yukawa Potential Correction, Non-local Gravity Correction, and Gradient Field Gravity Correction. Through comparative analysis, we study how such entropic constructs impact the thermodynamic behavior of black holes. For each case, we derive the stability thermodynamic conditions associated with the respective entropic constructs.

Revisiting the Evolving Lorentzian Wormhole: a General Perspective

Wormholes can be described as geometrical structures in space and time that can serve as connection between distant regions of the universe. Mathematically, general wormholes can be defined both on stationary as well as on dynamic line elements. However, general relativistic and evolving Lorentzian wormholes are less studied than their static wormhole counterpart. Accordingly, in this work we shall focus on some evolving wormhole geometries. Starting from a general class of spherically symmetric line element supporting wormhole geometries, we shall use the Einstein's field equations to develop viable astatic wormhole solutions. We will also discuss various evolving wormhole solutions together with their physical significance, properties and throat energy conditions. We claim that the method discussed in this work shall be applicable for developing wormhole solutions corresponding to any general Lorentzian wormhole metric.

Bouncing Cosmology for Entropy Corrected Models in Horava-Lifshitz Gravity and Fractal Universe

The modified field equations are written in logarithmic and power law versions of entropy corrected models in Einstein's gravity in the background of FRW universe. In one section, a brief review of the Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity is discussed and the modified field equations in logarithmic and power law versions of entropy corrected models in Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity are formulated. The stability analysis for these models are performed by describing the dynamical system. In another section, a brief review of the fractal universe is presented and the modified field equations in logarithmic and power law versions of entropy corrected models in fractal universe are formulated. The stability analysis for the dynamical system for these models in the framework of fractal universe are described. Furthermore, the bouncing scenarios of the universe in Ho$\check{\text r}$ava-Lifshitz gravity and fractal model for both logarithmic and power law entropy corrected versions in $k=0,+1,-1$ separately are analyzed. For different cases, the validity of null energy condition (NEC) at the time of bounce is examined. Finally, the behaviors of the physical quantities are depicted through diagrams.

Parameterizing Dark Energy Models and Study of Finite Time Future Singularities

A review on spatially flat D-dimensional Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) model of the universe has been performed. Some standard parameterizations of the equation of state parameter of the Dark Energy models are proposed and the possibilities of finite time future singularities are investigated. It is found that certain types of these singularities may appear by tuning some parameters appropriately. Moreover, for a scalar field theoretic description of the model, it was found that the model undergoes bouncing solutions in some favorable cases.

Bouncing Universe in the Contexts of Generalized Cosmic Chaplygin Gas and Variable Modified Chaplygin Gas

In this work, we have considered the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) model of the universe where bounce occurs and the universe is filled with Generalized Cosmic Chaplygin Gas (GCCG) or Variable Modified Chaplygin Gas (VMCG). We have studied the stability analysis through dynamical system for both models and found the critical points in flat, open and closed universe. In presence of scalar field, the dynamical behavior of scale factor and Hubble parameter is described in both models. Finally, we have analyzed the energy conditions for both the models in bouncing universe.

Thermodynamic Prescription of Cosmological Constant in Randall Sundrum-II Brane

In this work, we apply quantum corrected entropy function derived from the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) to the Holographic Equipartition Law to study the cosmological scenario in Randall-Sundrum (RS) II brane. An extra driving term has come up in the effective Friedmann equation for a homogeneous, isotropic and spatially flat universe. Further, thermodynamic prescription of the universe constraints this term eventually with order equivalent to that of the cosmological constant.

Thermodynamics of an Evolving Lorentzian Wormhole with Entropy Corrections

In this work, we study the generalized second law of thermodynamics (GSL) at the apparent horizon of an evolving Lorentzian wormhole. We obtain the expressions of thermal variables at the apparent horizon. Choosing the two well-known entropy functions i.e. power-law and logarithmic, we obtain the expressions of GSL. We have analyzed the GSL using a power-law form of scale factor $a(t)=a_0t^n$ and the special form of shape function $b(r)=\frac{b_{0}}{r}$. It is shown that GSL is valid in the evolving wormhole spacetime for both choices of entropies if the power-law exponent is small, but for large values of $n$, the GSL is satisfied at initial stage and after certain stage of the evolution of the wormhole, it violates.

Study of Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics in Loop Quantum Cosmology with the Effect of Non-Linear Electrodynamics

In this work, we have discussed the Maxwell's electrodynamics in non-linear forms in FRW universe. The energy density and pressure for non-linear electrodynamics have been written in the electro-magnetic universe. The Einstein's field equations for flat FRW model in loop quantum cosmology have been considered if the universe is filled with the matter and electro-magnetic field. We separately assumed the magnetic universe and electric universe. The interaction between matter and magnetic field have been considered in one section and for some particular form of interaction term, we have found the solutions of magnetic field and the energy density of matter. We have also considered the interaction between the matter and electric field and another form of interaction term has been chosen to solve the field equations. The validity of generalized second law of thermodynamics has been investigated on apparent and event horizons using Gibb's law and the first law of thermodynamics for magnetic and electric universe separately.

A Study of Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics in Magnetic Universe in the light of Non-Linear Electrodynamics

In this work, we have considered the magnetic universe in non-linear electrodynamics. The Einstein's field equations for non-flat FRW model have been considered when the universe is filled with the matter and magnetic field only. We have discussed the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics of the magntic universe bounded by Hubble, apparent, particle and event horizons using Gibb's law and the first law of thermodynamics for interacting and non-interacting scenarios. It has been shown that the GSL is always satisfied for Hubble, apparent and particle horizons but for event horizon, the GSL is violated initially and satisfied at late stage of the universe.

Emergent Universe in Brane World Scenario with Schwarzschild-de Sitter Bulk

A model of an emergent universe is obtained in brane world. Here the bulk energy is in the form of cosmological constant, while the brane consists of a fluid satisfying an equation of state of the form $p_{b}={1/3} ρ_{b}$, which is effectively a radiation equation of state at high energies. It is shown that with the positive bulk cosmological constant, one of our models represents an emergent universe.

Wormhole and its Analogue in Brane World

In Einstein gravity, for an inhomogeneous phantom energy distribution having linear equation of state (but anisotropic), there exists simple exact solution for spherically symmetric space time describing a wormhole. At infinity, the space time is not asymptotically flat and possesses a regular cosmological Killing horizon with an infinite area. In this work, we have shown that, this wormhole solution is also possible in brane world for various matter distribution, which are not necessarily phantom in nature.

Schwarzschild Solution on the Brane

In this communication we have shown that Schwarzschild solution is possible in brane world for some specific choices of brane matter and the non local effects from the bulk. A conformally flat bulk space time with fine-tuned vacuum energy (brane tension) shows that, Schwarzschild solution may also be the vacuum solution for brane world scenario.

Modified Chaplygin Traversable Wormholes

The modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) is a strong candidate for the unified model of dark matter and dark energy. The equation of state of this modified model is valid from the radiation era to the $Λ$CDM model. In early epoch (when $ρ$ was large), dark matter had the dominant role while at later stages (when $ρ$ is small), the MCG model behaves as dark energy. In this work, we have found exact solution of static spherically symmetric Einstein equations describing a wormhole for an inhomogeneous distribution of modified Chaplygin gas. For existence of wormhole solution, there are some restrictions relating the parameters in the equation of state for MCG and the throat radius of the wormhole. Physical properties and characteristics of these modified Chaplygin wormholes are analyzed in details.

Matter in the Bulk and its Consequences on the Brane: A Possible Source of Dark Energy

The usual brane world scenario with anti de Sitter bulk has been generalized by considering a general form of energy momentum tensor in the bulk. The modified Einstein equation on the brane has been constructed. Two examples have been cited of which, the first one shows the usual brane equations when matter in the bulk is a negative cosmological constant. In the second example, the bulk matter is in the form of perfect fluid and as a result, an effective perfect fluid is obtained in the brane. Also it is noted that the effect of the dust bulk on the brane shows a dark energy behaviour and may be a possible explanation of the dark energy from the present day observational point of view.

Emergent Universe in Brane World Scenario

A model of an emergent universe is obtained in brane world. Here the bulk energy is in the form of cosmological constant, while the brane consists of the Chaplygin gas with the modified equation of state such as $p=Aρ-B/ρ$. Initially the brane matter for the special choice $A=1/3$ may have negative or positive pressure depending on the relative magnitudes of the parameter $B$ and the cosmological constant of the bulk, while asymptotically in future the brane world approaches a $Λ$CDM model.

Brane world solutions of perfect fluid in the background of a bulk containing dust or cosmological constant

The paper presents some solutions to the five dimensional Einstein equations due to a perfect fluid on the brane with pure dust filling the entire bulk in one case and a cosmological constant (or vacuum) in the bulk for the second case. In the first case, there is a linear relationship between isotropic pressure, energy density and the brane tension, while in the second case, the perfect fluid is assumed to be in the form of chaplygin gas. Cosmological solutions are found both for brane and bulk scenarios and some interesting features are obtained for the chaplygin gas on the brane which are distinctly different from the standard cosmology in four dimensions.

Collapse Dynamics of a Star of Dark Matter and Dark Energy

In this work, we study the collapse dynamics of an inhomogeneous spherically symmetric star made of dark matter (DM) and dark energy (DE). The dark matter is taken in the form of a dust cloud while anisotropic fluid is chosen as the candidate for dark energy. It is investigated how dark energy modifies the collapsing process and is examined whether dark energy has any effect on the Cosmic Censorship Conjecture. The collapsing star is assumed to be of finite radius and the space time is divided into three distinct regions $Σ$ and $V^{\pm}$, where $Σ$ represents the boundary of the star and $V^{-}(V^{+})$ denotes the interior (exterior) of the star. The junction conditions for matching $V^{\pm}$ over $Σ$ are specified. Role of Dark energy in the formation of apparent horizon is studied and central singularity is analyzed.

Collapsing Inhomogeneous Dust Fluid in the Background of Dark Energy

In the present work, gravitational collapse of an inhomogeneous spherical star model, consisting of inhomogeneous dust fluid (dark matter) in the background of dark energy is considered. The collapsing process is examined first separately for both dark matter and dark energy and then under the combined effect of dark matter and dark energy with or without interaction. The dark energy is considered in the form of perfect fluid and both marginally and non-marginally bound cases are considered for the collapsing model. Finally dark energy in the form of anisotropic fluid is investigated and it is found to be similar to ref. [12]
