On some new moments of Gamma type

We investigate certain positive random variables having moments of Gamma type. Some necessary and some sufficient conditions are given for their existence. In particular, we observe that the Weber-Schafheitlin formula for the Bessel function makes it possible to construct non-trivial moments of Gamma type having a signed spectral measure.

Fractional non-homogeneous Poisson and Pólya-Aeppli processes of order $k$ and beyond

We introduce two non-homogeneous processes: a fractional non-homogeneous Poisson process of order $k$ and and a fractional non-homogeneous Pólya-Aeppli process of order $k$. We characterize these processes by deriving their non-local governing equations. We further study the covariance structure of the processes and investigate the long-range dependence property.

Busy period, time of the first loss of a customer and the number of customers in $ M^{\varkappa}|G^δ|1|B$

A two-sided exit problem is solved for a difference of a compound Poisson process and a compound renewal process. More precisely, the Laplace transforms of the joint distribution of the first exit time, the value of the overshoot and the value of a linear component at this instant are found. Further, we study the process reflected in its supremum. We determine the main two-boundary characteristics of the process reflected in its supremum. These results are then applied for studying the $ M^{\varkappa}|G^δ|1|B$ system. We derive the distribution of a busy period and the numbers of customers in the system in transient and stationary regimes. The advantage is that these results are in a closed form, in terms of resolvent sequences of the process.

Exit problems for oscillating compound Poisson process

In this article we determine the Laplace transforms of the main boundary functionals of the oscillating compound Poisson process. These are the first passage time of the level, the joint distribution of the first exit time from the interval and the value of the overshoot through the boundary. Under certain conditions we establish the asymptotic behaviour of the mentioned functionals.

On several two-boundary problems for a particular class of Lévy processes

Several two-boundary problems are solved for a special Lévy process: the Poisson process with an exponential component. The jumps of this process are controlled by a homogeneous Poisson process, the positive jump size distribution is arbitrary, while the distribution of the negative jumps is exponential. Closed form expressions are obtained for the integral transforms of the joint distribution of the first exit time from an interval and the value of the overshoot through boundaries at the first exit time. Also the joint distribution of the first entry time into the interval and the value of the process at this time instant are determined in terms of integral transforms.
