More on Slavnov Products of Spin Chains and KP Hierarchy Tau Functions

Connections between classical and quantum integrable systems are analyzed from the viewpoint of Slavnov products of Bethe states. It is well known that, modulo model dependent aspects, the functional structure of Slavnov products generally takes the form of determinants. Building on recent results on the structure of rational and trigonometric models, we show that, provided certain conditions are satisfied, the Slavnov product of a given model can be interpreted as a tau function of the KP hierarchy, thus extending known results in a more general setting. Moreover, we show that Slavnov products can be expanded in terms of other tau functions. We also prove that their homogeneous limit can be systematically expressed as a Wronskian of functions related to the eigenvalues of the transfer matrices. Finally, we compute the Baker-Akhiezer functions associated with these Slavnov products and show that, apart from a universal multiplicative factor, they admit a closed determinantal representation.

$Q$-Boson model and relations with integrable hierarchies

This work investigates the intricate relationship between the q-boson model, a quantum integrable system, and classical integrable systems such as the Toda and KP hierarchies. Initially, we analyze scalar products of off-shell Bethe states and explore their connections to tau functions of integrable hierarchies. Furthermore, we discuss correlation functions within this formalism, examining their representations in terms of tau functions, as well as their Schur polynomial expansions.

PySymmPol: Symmetric Polynomials in Python

PySymmPol is a Python package designed for efficient manipulation of symmetric polynomials. It provides functionalities for working with various types of symmetric polynomials, including elementary, homogeneous, monomial symmetric, (skew-) Schur, and Hall-Littlewood polynomials. In addition to polynomial operations, PySymmPol offers tools to explore key properties of integer partitions and Young diagrams, such as transposition, Frobenius coordinates, characters of symmetric groups and others.

2D CFTs - Large Charge is not enough

In this note we study two-dimensional CFTs at large global charge. Since the large-charge sector decouples from the dynamics, it does not control the dynamics and an EFT construction that works in higher-dimensional theories fails. It is however possible to use large charge in a double-scaling limit when another controlling parameter is present. We find some general features of the spectrum of models that admit an NLSM description in a WKB approximation and use the large-charge sector of the solvable $SU(2)_k$ WZW model to argue the regimes of applicability of both the large-Q expansion and the double-scaling limit.

Comments on Slavnov products, Temperley-Lieb open spin chains, and KP tau functions

We study Slavnov's inner products for open Temperley-Lieb chains and their relations with the KP hierarchy. We show that when (s=1/2) the quantum group invariant XXZ spin chain has Slavnov products given by the quotient of tau functions. The Schur polynomials expansion and a matrix construction for the Baker-Akhiezer functions are also briefly considered.

Quantum crystals, Kagome lattice and plane partitions fermion-boson duality

In this work, we study quantum crystal melting in three space dimensions. Using an equivalent description in terms of dimers in a hexagonal lattice, we recast the crystal melting Hamiltonian as an occupancy problem in a Kagome lattice. The Hilbert space is spanned by states labeled by plane partitions and writing them as a product of interlaced integer partitions, we define a fermion-boson duality for plane partitions. Finally, based upon the latter result we conjecture that the growth operators for the quantum Hamiltonian can be represented in terms of the affine Yangian ${\cal Y}[\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(1)]$.

Towards Yang-Baxter integrability of quantum crystal melting: From Kagome lattice to vertex models

This paper considers aspects of a Kagome lattice system with states classified by plane partitions. Using two sets of free fermions, we rewrite the lattice in terms of two families of spin chains. In this formalism, the quantum crystals Hamiltonian becomes more transparent, and we determine expressions for the first 3 levels of plane partition states. A classical statistical model associated with local configurations in the Kagome lattice is also defined, and we show that a reduction of this classical system gives two Yang-Baxter integrable subsystems analogous to a descendant of the 6-vertex model.

Nonlocal charges from marginal deformations of 2D CFTs: Holographic $T \bar T$, $T \bar J$ and Yang-Baxter deformations

In this paper we study generic features of nonlocal charges obtained from marginal deformations of WZNW models. Using free-fields representations of CFTs based on simply laced Lie algebras, one can use simple arguments to build the nonlocal charges; but for more general Lie algebras these methods are not strong enough to be generally used. We propose a brute force calculation where the nonlocality is associated to a new Lie algebra valued field, and from this prescription we impose several constraints on the algebra of nonlocal charges. Possible applications for Yang-Baxter and holographic \(T\bar{T}\) and \(T\bar{J}\) deformations are also discussed.

Holographic integration of $T \bar{T}$ and $J \bar{T}$ via $O(d,d)$

Prompted by the recent developments in integrable single trace $T \bar{T}$ and $J \bar{T}$ deformations of 2d CFTs, we analyse such deformations in the context of $AdS_3/CFT_2$ from the dual string worldsheet CFT viewpoint. We observe that the finite form of these deformations can be recast as $O(d,d)$ transformations, which are an integrated form of the corresponding Exactly Marginal Deformations (EMD) in the worldsheet Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) model, thereby generalising the Yang-Baxter class that includes TsT. Furthermore, the equivalence between $O(d,d)$ transformations and marginal deformations of WZW models, proposed by Hassan and Sen for Abelian chiral currents, can be extended to non-Abelian chiral currents to recover a well-known constraint on EMD in the worldsheet CFT. We also argue that such EMD are also solvable from the worldsheet theory viewpoint.

Embedding the modified CYBE in Supergravity

It has recently been demonstrated that the Classical Yang-Baxter Equation (CYBE) emerges from supergravity via the open-closed string map. Thus, given any solution with an isometry group, there exists a deformed solution based on an $r$-matrix solution to the homogeneous CYBE. In this work, we argue that the CYBE emerges exclusively from the NS sector, while the RR sector acts largely as a spectator that supports the spacetimes. Moreover, shifting the dilaton by a constant, one can incorporate $r$-matrix solutions to the modified CYBE, but only for original geometries that are a direct-product of coset spaces. We illustrate our solution generating technique with deformations of $AdS_3 \times S^3 \times M_4$, where $M_4 = T^4$ (K3) and $S^3 \times S^1$, and explicitly construct one and two-parameter (integrable) q-deformations that are solutions to generalised supergravity.

Remarks on BMS${}_3$ invariant field theories: correlation functions and nonunitary CFTs

We use the isomorphism between the BMS${}_3$ and the $W(2,2)$ algebras to reconsider some generic aspects of CFTs with the BMS${}_3$ algebra defined as a chiral symmetry. For unitarity theories, it is known that the extended symmetry generator acts trivially, and the resulting theory is equivalent to a CFT with a Virasoro symmetry only. For nonunitary CFTs, we define an operator depending on a nilpotent variable, and we organize the Verma module through the action of this new operator. Finally, we find the conditions imposed by the modified Ward identity.

Conformal Twists, Yang-Baxter $σ$-models & Holographic Noncommutativity

Expanding upon earlier results [arXiv:1702.02861], we present a compendium of $σ$-models associated with integrable deformations of AdS$_5$ generated by solutions to homogenous classical Yang-Baxter equation. Each example we study from four viewpoints: conformal (Drinfeld) twists, closed string gravity backgrounds, open string parameters and proposed dual noncommutative (NC) gauge theory. Irrespective of whether the deformed background is a solution to supergravity or generalized supergravity, we show that the open string metric associated with each gravity background is undeformed AdS$_5$ with constant open string coupling and the NC structure $Θ$ is directly related to the conformal twist. One novel feature is that $Θ$ exhibits "holographic noncommutativity": while it may exhibit non-trivial dependence on the holographic direction, its value everywhere in the bulk is uniquely determined by its value at the boundary, thus facilitating introduction of a dual NC gauge theory. We show that the divergence of the NC structure $Θ$ is directly related to the unimodularity of the twist. We discuss the implementation of an outer automorphism of the conformal algebra as a coordinate transformation in the AdS bulk and discuss its implications for Yang-Baxter $σ$-models and self-T-duality based on fermionic T-duality. Finally, we comment on implications of our results for the integrability of associated open strings and planar integrability of dual NC gauge theories.

Penrose limits and spin chains in the GJV/CS-SYM duality

We examine Penrose limits of the duality proposed by Guarino, Jafferis and Varela between a type IIA massive background of the type of a warped, squashed $AdS_4\times S^6$, and a 2+1 dimensional IR fixed point of ${\cal N}=8$ super Yang-Mills deformed by Chern-Simons terms to ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetry. One type of Penrose limit for closed strings corresponds to a large charge closed spin chain, and another, for open strings on giant graviton D-branes, corresponds to an open spin chain on sub-determinant operators. For the first limit, we find that like in the ABJM case, there are functions $f_a(λ)$ that interpolate between the perturbative and nonperturbative (string) regions for the magnon energy. For the second, we are unable to match the gravity result with the expected field theory result, making this model more interesting than ones with more supersymmetry.

Yang-Baxter $σ$-models, conformal twists, and noncommutative Yang-Mills theory

The Yang-Baxter $σ$-model is a systematic way to generate integrable deformations of AdS$_5\times$S$^5$. We recast the deformations as seen by open strings, where the metric is undeformed AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ with constant string coupling, and all information about the deformation is encoded in the noncommutative (NC) parameter $Θ$. We identify the deformations of AdS$_5$ as twists of the conformal algebra, thus explaining the noncommutativity. We show that the unimodularity conditon on $r$-matrices for supergravity solutions translates into $Θ$ being divergence-free. Integrability of the $σ$-model for unimodular $r$-matrices implies the existence and planar integrability of the dual NC gauge theory.
