Null limit of large-charge correlators in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ Super-Yang-Mills theory

We present a conjecture for the double-logarithmic behavior of the logarithm of large-charge correlators in the null limit in planar $\mathcal{N} = 4$ Super-Yang-Mills theory. Generalizing earlier results for four- and five-point functions, our proposal predicts this behavior for $n$-point functions to all loops in terms of the tilted cusp anomalous dimension. In the dual amplitude description, it reproduces the expected small-mass behavior of massive amplitudes in the equal-mass limit.

Higher-Point Integrands in N=4 super Yang-Mills Theory

We compute the integrands of five-, six-, and seven-point correlation functions of twenty-prime operators with general polarizations at the two-loop order in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. In addition, we compute the integrand of the five-point function at three-loop order. Using the operator product expansion, we extract the two-loop four-point function of one Konishi operator and three twenty-prime operators. Two methods were used for computing the integrands. The first method is based on constructing an ansatz, and then numerically fitting for the coefficients using the twistor-space reformulation of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. The second method is based on the OPE decomposition. Only very few correlator integrands for more than four points were known before. Our results can be used to test conjectures, and to make progresses on the integrability-based hexagonalization approach for correlation functions.

On Factorizable S-matrices, Generalized TTbar, and the Hagedorn Transition

We study solutions of the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations for relativistic theories defined by the factorizable $S$-matrix of an integrable QFT deformed by CDD factors. Such $S$-matrices appear under generalized TTbar deformations of integrable QFT by special irrelevant operators. The TBA equations, of course, determine the ground state energy $E(R)$ of the finite-size system, with the spatial coordinate compactified on a circle of circumference $R$. We limit attention to theories involving just one kind of stable particles, and consider deformations of the trivial (free fermion or boson) $S$-matrix by CDD factors with two elementary poles and regular high energy asymptotics -- the "2CDD model". We find that for all values of the parameters (positions of the CDD poles) the TBA equations exhibit two real solutions at $R$ greater than a certain parameter-dependent value $R_*$, which we refer to as the primary and secondary branches. The primary branch is identified with the standard iterative solution, while the secondary one is unstable against iterations and needs to be accessed through an alternative numerical method known as pseudo-arc-length continuation. The two branches merge at the "turning point" $R_*$ (a square-root branching point). The singularity signals a Hagedorn behavior of the density of high energy states of the deformed theories, a feature incompatible with the Wilsonian notion of a local QFT originating from a UV fixed point, but typical for string theories. This behavior of $E(R)$ is qualitatively the same as the one for standard TTbar deformations of local QFT.

$AdS_5 \times S^5$ supergravity vertex operators

In any type II superstring background, the supergravity vertex operators in the pure spinor formalism are described by a gauge superfield. In this paper, we obtain for the first time an explicit expression for this superfield in an $AdS_5 \times S^5$ background. Previously, the vertex operators were only known close to the boundary of $AdS_5$ or in the minus eight picture. Our strategy for the computation was to apply eight picture raising operators in the minus eight picture vertices. In the process, a huge number of terms are generated and we have developed numerical techniques to perform intermediary simplifications. Alternatively, the same numerical techniques can be used to compute the vertices directly in the zero picture by constructing a basis of invariants and fitting for the coefficients. One motivation for constructing the vertex operators is the computation of $AdS_5 \times S^5$ string amplitudes.

Decagon at Two Loops

We have computed the simplest five point function in $\mathcal{N} = 4$ SYM at two loops using the hexagonalization approach to correlation functions. Along the way we have determined all two-particle mirror contributions at two loops and we have computed all the integrals involved in the final result. As a test of our results we computed a few four-point functions and they agree with the perturbative results computed previously. We have also obtained $l$ loop results for some parts of the two-particle contributions with $l$ arbitrary. We also derive differential equations for a class of integrals that should appear at higher loops in the five point function.

Non-planar data of $\mathcal N=4$ SYM

The four-point function of length-two half-BPS operators in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM receives non-planar corrections starting at four loops. Previous work relied on the analysis of symmetries and logarithmic divergences to fix the integrand up to four constants. In this work, we compute those undetermined coefficients and fix the integrand completely by using the reformulation of $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM in twistor space. The final integrand can be written as a combination of finite conformal integrals and we have used the method of asymptotic expansions to extract non-planar anomalous dimensions and structure constants for twist-two operators up to spin eight. Some of the results were already know in the literature and we have found agreement with them.

Handling Handles. Part II. Stratification and Data Analysis

In a previous work, we proposed an integrability setup for computing non-planar corrections to correlation functions in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory at any value of the coupling constant. The procedure consists of drawing all possible tree-level graphs on a Riemann surface of given genus, completing each graph to a triangulation, inserting a hexagon form factor into each face, and summing over a complete set of states on each edge of the triangulation. The summation over graphs can be interpreted as a quantization of the string moduli space integration. The quantization requires a careful treatment of the moduli space boundaries, which is realized by subtracting degenerate Riemann surfaces; this procedure is called stratification. In this work, we precisely formulate our proposal and perform several perturbative checks. These checks require hitherto unknown multi-particle mirror contributions at one loop, which we also compute.

Handling Handles: Nonplanar Integrability in $\mathcal{N}=4$ Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Theory

We propose an integrability setup for the computation of correlation functions of gauge-invariant operators in $\mathcal{N}=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory at higher orders in the large $N_{\text{c}}$ genus expansion and at any order in the 't Hooft coupling $g_{\text{YM}}^2N_{\text{c}}$. In this multi-step proposal, one polygonizes the string worldsheet in all possible ways, hexagonalizes all resulting polygons, and sprinkles mirror particles over all hexagon junctions to obtain the full correlator. We test our integrability-based conjecture against a non-planar four-point correlator of large half-BPS operators at one and two loops.

Hexagons and Correlators in the Fishnet Theory

We investigate the hexagon formalism in the planar 4d conformal fishnet theory. This theory arises from N=4 SYM by a deformation that preserves both conformal symmetry and integrability. Based on this relation, we obtain the hexagon form factors for a large class of states, including the BMN vacuum, some excited states, and the Lagrangian density. We apply these form factors to the computation of several correlators and match the results with direct Feynman diagrammatic calculations. We also study the renormalisation of the hexagon form factor expansion for a family of diagonal structure constants and test the procedure at higher orders through comparison with a known universal formula for the Lagrangian insertion.

Hexagonalization of Correlation Functions II: Two-Particle Contributions

In this work, we compute one-loop planar five-point functions in $\mathcal{N}$=4 super-Yang-Mills using integrability. As in the previous work, we decompose the correlation functions into hexagon form factors and glue them using the weight factors which depend on the cross ratios. The main new ingredient in the computation, as compared to the four-point functions studied in the previous paper, is the two-particle mirror contribution. We develop techniques to evaluate it and find agreement with the perturbative results in all the cases we analyzed. In addition, we consider next-to-extremal four-point functions, which are known to be protected, and show that the sum of one-particle and two-particle contributions at one loop adds up to zero as expected. The tools developed in this work would be useful for computing higher-particle contributions which would be relevant for more complicated quantities such as higher-loop corrections and non-planar correlators.

Hexagonalization of Correlation Functions

We propose a nonperturbative framework to study general correlation functions of single-trace operators in $\mathcal{N}=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory at large $N$. The basic strategy is to decompose them into fundamental building blocks called the hexagon form factors, which were introduced earlier to study structure constants using integrability. The decomposition is akin to a triangulation of a Riemann surface, and we thus call it hexagonalization. We propose a set of rules to glue the hexagons together based on symmetry, which naturally incorporate the dependence on the conformal and the R-symmetry cross ratios. Our method is conceptually different from the conventional operator product expansion and automatically takes into account multi-trace operators exchanged in OPE channels. To illustrate the idea in simple set-ups, we compute four-point functions of BPS operators of arbitrary lengths and correlation functions of one Konishi operator and three short BPS operators, all at one loop. In all cases, the results are in perfect agreement with the perturbative data. We also suggest that our method can be a useful tool to study conformal integrals, and show it explicitly for the case of ladder integrals.

Fermionic Correlators from Integrability

We study three-point functions of single-trace operators in the su(1|1) sector of planar N = 4 SYM borrowing several tools based on Integrability. In the most general configuration of operators in this sector, we have found a determinant expression for the tree-level structure constants. We then compare the predictions of the recently proposed hexagon program against all available data. We have obtained a match once additional sign factors are included when the two hexagon form-factors are assembled together to form the structure constants. In the particular case of one BPS and two non-BPS operators we managed to identify the relevant form-factors with a domain wall partition function of a certain six-vertex model. This partition function can be explicitly evaluated and factorizes at all loops. In addition, we use this result to compute the structure constants and show that at strong coupling in the so-called BMN regime, its leading order contribution has a determinant expression.

On the Pure Spinor Heterotic Superstring $b$ Ghost

A simplified pure spinor superstring $b$ ghost in a curved heterotic background was constructed recently. The $b$ ghost is a composite operator and it is not holomorphic. However, it satisfies $\bar\partial b = [ Q , Ω]$, where $Q$ is the BRST charge. In this paper, we find a possible $Ω$.

Three-Point Functions and su(1|1) Spin Chains

We compute three-point functions of general operators in the su(1|1) sector of planar N = 4 SYM in the weak coupling regime, both at tree-level and one-loop. Each operator is represented by a closed spin chain Bethe state characterized by a set of momenta parameterizing the fermionic excitations. At one-loop, we calculate both the two-loop Bethe eigenstates and the relevant Feynman diagrams for the three-point functions within our setup. The final expression for the structure constants is surprisingly simple and hints at a possible form factor based approach yet to be unveiled.

Harmonic Superspace from the $AdS_5\times S^5$ Pure Spinor Formalism

On-shell supergravity vertex operators in an $AdS_5\times S^5$ background are described in the pure spinor formalism by the zero mode cohomology of a BRST operator. After expanding the pure spinor BRST operator in terms of the $AdS_5$ radius variable, this cohomology is computed using N=4 harmonic superspace variables and explicit superfield expressions are obtained for the behavior of supergravity vertex operators near the boundary of $AdS_5$.
