Etude expérimentale et numérique des transferts de chaleur en convection naturelle le long de parois verticales épaisses rayonnantes fortement chauffées

Thermal balances and complete investigation of air flow along a uniformly heated vertical black thick steel plate (1000 to 8000 W/m\^2) have been obtained by means of a thermoanemometric method and infrared pyrometry. Several physical models have been solved with a commercial CFD (FLUENT) and the numerical results are compared with the experimental values.

Plancher solaire direct mixte à double réseau en habitat bioclimatique - Conception et bilan thermique réel. Double direct solar floor heating in boclimatic habitation - Design and real energetical balance

This study presents a new direct solar floor heating technique with double heating network wich allows simultaneous use of solar and supply energy. Its main purpose is to store and to diffuse the whole available solar energy while regulating supply energy by physical means without using computer controlled technology. This solar system has been tested in real user conditions inside a bioclimatic house to study the interaction of non-inertial and passive walls on the solar productivity. Daily, monthly and annual energy balances were drawn up over three years and completed by real-time measurements of several physical on-site parameters. As a result the expected properties of this technique were improved. The use of per-hour solar productivity, saved primary energy and corrected solar covering ratio is recommended to analyze the performances of this plant and to allow more refined comparisons with other solar systems

Transition to turbulence in strongly heated vertical natural convection boundary layers

The mechanisms governing the transition to turbulence in natural convection boundary layers along strongly heated vertical walls remain neither very clear nor well understood, because of the lack of experiments and the difficulties of physical modelling. Our measurements bring experimental data focusing on this transition in quiescent air along radiating and conducting plates in the whole range of 2000 to 8000 W/m\^2 heating rate. The analysis of the time series obtained by sliding window cross-correlation thermoanemometry leads us to point out coherent turbulent structures on short heights throughout the thin boundary layer, which seem to be governed by heat transfer and time-microscales of turbulence through the inner sublayer. Physical interpretations are given to relate to the observed heat transfer correlation and these turbulence transition structures along with radiation and conduction.
