Entanglement constraint on wave-particle duality for tripartite systems

A global multi-partite entanglement may place a constraint on the wave-particle duality. We investigate this constraint relation of the global entanglement and the quantitative wave-particle duality in tripartite systems. We perform quantum state tomography to reconstruct the reduced density matrix by using the OriginQ quantum computing cloud platform. As a result, we show that, theoretically and experimentally, the quantitative wave-particle duality is indeed constrained by the global tripartite entanglement.

Multipartite entanglement detection via generalized Wigner-Yanase skew information

The detection of multipartite entanglement in multipartite quantum systems is a fundamental and key issue in quantum information theory. In this paper, we investigate $k$-nonseparability and $k$-partite entanglement of $N$-partite quantum systems from the perspective of the generalized Wigner-Yanase skew information introduced by Yang $et$ $al$. [\href{https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.106.052401 }{Phys. Rev. A \textbf{106}, 052401 (2022)}]. More specifically, we develop two different approaches in form of inequalities to construct entanglement criteria, which are expressed in terms of the generalized Wigner-Yanase skew information. Any violation of these inequalities by a quantum state reveals its $k$-nonseparability or $k$-partite entanglement, so these inequalities present the hierarchic classifications of $k$-nonseparability or $k$-partite entanglement for all $N$-partite quantum states from $N$-nonseparability to $2$-nonseparability or from $2$-partite entanglement to $N$-partite entanglement, which are more refined than well-known ways. It is shown that our results reveal some $k$-nonseparability and $k$-partite entanglement that remain undetected by other methods, and these are illustrated through some examples.

Efficient Privacy-Preserving Convolutional Spiking Neural Networks with FHE

With the rapid development of AI technology, we have witnessed numerous innovations and conveniences. However, along with these advancements come privacy threats and risks. Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) emerges as a key technology for privacy-preserving computation, enabling computations while maintaining data privacy. Nevertheless, FHE has limitations in processing continuous non-polynomial functions as it is restricted to discrete integers and supports only addition and multiplication. Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) operate on discrete spike signals, naturally aligning with the properties of FHE. In this paper, we present a framework called FHE-DiCSNN. This framework is based on the efficient TFHE scheme and leverages the discrete properties of SNNs to achieve high prediction performance on ciphertexts. Firstly, by employing bootstrapping techniques, we successfully implement computations of the Leaky Integrate-and-Fire neuron model on ciphertexts. Through bootstrapping, we can facilitate computations for SNNs of arbitrary depth. This framework can be extended to other spiking neuron models, providing a novel framework for the homomorphic evaluation of SNNs. Secondly, inspired by CNNs, we adopt convolutional methods to replace Poisson encoding. This not only enhances accuracy but also mitigates the issue of prolonged simulation time caused by random encoding. Furthermore, we employ engineering techniques to parallelize the computation of bootstrapping, resulting in a significant improvement in computational efficiency. Finally, we evaluate our model on the MNIST dataset. Experimental results demonstrate that, with the optimal parameter configuration, FHE-DiCSNN achieves an accuracy of 97.94% on ciphertexts, with a loss of only 0.53% compared to the original network's accuracy of 98.47%. Moreover, each prediction requires only 0.75 seconds of computation time

An Optimal Control Method to Compute the Most Likely Transition Path for Stochastic Dynamical Systems with Jumps

Many complex real world phenomena exhibit abrupt, intermittent or jumping behaviors, which are more suitable to be described by stochastic differential equations under non-Gaussian Lévy noise. Among these complex phenomena, the most likely transition paths between metastable states are important since these rare events may have a high impact in certain scenarios. Based on the large deviation principle, the most likely transition path could be treated as the minimizer of the rate function upon paths that connect two points. One of the challenges to calculate the most likely transition path for stochastic dynamical systems under non-Gaussian Lévy noise is that the associated rate function can not be explicitly expressed by paths. For this reason, we formulate an optimal control problem to obtain the optimal state as the most likely transition path. We then develop a neural network method to solve this issue. Several experiments are investigated for both Gaussian and non-Gaussian cases.

Well-posedness and averaging principle for Lévy-type McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations under local Lipschitz conditions

In this paper, we investigate a class of McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations under Lévy-type perturbations. We first establish the existence and uniqueness theorem for solutions of the McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations by utilizing the Euler-like approximation. Then under some suitable conditions, we show that the solutions of McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations can be approximated by the solutions of the associated averaged McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations in the sense of mean square convergence. In contrast to the existing work, a novel feature is the use of a much weaker condition -- local Lipschitzian in the state variables, allowing for possibly super-linearly growing drift, but linearly growing diffusion and jump coefficients. Therefore, our results are suitable for a wider class of McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations.

Parameterized multipartite entanglement measures

We investigate parameterized multipartite entanglement measures from the perspective of $k$-nonseparability in this paper. We present two types of entanglement measures in $n$-partite systems, $q$-$k$-ME concurrence $(q\geq2,~2\leq k\leq n)$ and $α$-$k$-ME concurrence $(0\leqα\leq\frac{1}{2},~2\leq k\leq n)$, which unambiguously detect all $k$-nonseparable states in arbitrary $n$-partite systems. Rigorous proofs show that the proposed $k$-nonseparable measures satisfy all the requirements for being an entanglement measure including the entanglement monotone, strong monotone, convexity, vanishing on all $k$-separable states, and being strictly greater than zero for all $k$-nonseparable states. In particular, the $q$-2-ME concurrence and $α$-2-ME concurrence, renamed as $q$-GME concurrence and $α$-GME concurrence, respectively, are two kinds of genuine entanglement measures corresponding the case where the systems are divided into bipartition $(k=2)$. The lower bounds of two classes $k$-nonseparable measures are obtained by employing the approach that takes into account the permutationally invariant part of a quantum state. And the relations between $q$-$n$-ME concurrence ($α$-$n$-ME concurrence) and global negativity are established. In addition, we discuss the degree of separability and elaborate on an effective detection method with concrete examples. Moreover, we compare the $q$-GME concurrence defined by us to other genuine entanglement measures.

Strong quantum nonlocality with genuine entanglement in an $N$-qutrit system

In this paper, we construct genuinely multipartite entangled bases in $(\mathbb{C}^{3})^{\otimes N}$ for $N\geq3$, where every state is one-uniform state. By modifying this construction, we successfully obtain strongly nonlocal orthogonal genuinely entangled sets and strongly nonlocal orthogonal genuinely entangled bases, which provide an answer to the open problem raised by Halder $et~al.$ [\href{https://journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevLett.122.040403} {Phy. Rev. Lett. \textbf{122}, 040403 (2019)}]. The strongly nonlocal orthogonal genuine entangled set we constructed in $(\mathbb{C}^{3})^{\otimes N}$ contains much fewer quantum states than all known ones. When $N>3$, our result answers the open question given by Wang $et~al$. [\href{https://journals.aps.org/pra/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevA.104.012424} {Phys. Rev. A \textbf{104}, 012424 (2021)}].

Privacy-Preserving Discretized Spiking Neural Networks

The rapid development of artificial intelligence has brought considerable convenience, yet also introduces significant security risks. One of the research hotspots is to balance data privacy and utility in the real world of artificial intelligence. The present second-generation artificial neural networks have made tremendous advances, but some big models could have really high computational costs. The third-generation neural network, SNN (Spiking Neural Network), mimics real neurons by using discrete spike signals, whose sequences exhibit strong sparsity, providing advantages such as low energy consumption and high efficiency. In this paper, we construct a framework to evaluate the homomorphic computation of SNN named FHE-DiSNN that enables SNN to achieve good prediction performance on encrypted data. First, benefitting from the discrete nature of spike signals, our proposed model avoids the errors introduced by discretizing activation functions. Second, by applying bootstrapping, we design new private preserving functions FHE-Fire and FHE-Reset, through which noise can be refreshed, allowing us to evaluate SNN for an arbitrary number of operations. Furthermore, We improve the computational efficiency of FHE-DiSNN while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Finally, we evaluate our model on the MNIST dataset. The experiments show that FHE-DiSNN with 30 neurons in the hidden layer achieves a minimum prediction accuracy of 94.4%. Under optimal parameters, it achieves a 95.1% accuracy, with only a 0.6% decrease compared to the original SNN (95.7%). These results demonstrate the superiority of SNN over second-generation neural networks for homomorphic evaluation.

Muon spin force

Current discrepancy between the measurement and the prediction of the muon anomalous magnetic moment can be resolved in the presence of a long-range force created by ordinary atoms acting on the muon spin via axial-vector and/or pseudoscalar coupling, and requiring a tiny, $\mathcal{O}(10^{-13}\,{\rm eV})$ spin energy splitting between muon state polarized in the vertical direction. We suggest that an extension of the muon spin resonance ($μ$SR) experiments can provide a definitive test of this class of models. We also derive indirect constraints on the strength of the muon spin force, by considering the muon-loop-induced interactions between nuclear spin and external directions. The limits on the muon spin force extracted from the comparison of $^{199}$Hg/$^{201}$Hg and $^{129}$Xe/$^{131}$Xe spin precession are strong for the pseudoscalar coupling, but are significantly relaxed for the axial-vector one. These limits suffer from significant model uncertainties, poorly known proton/neutron spin content of these nuclei, and therefore do not exclude the possibility of a muon spin force relevant for the muon $g-2$.

Reservoir Computing with Error Correction: Long-term Behaviors of Stochastic Dynamical Systems

The prediction of stochastic dynamical systems and the capture of dynamical behaviors are profound problems. In this article, we propose a data-driven framework combining Reservoir Computing and Normalizing Flow to study this issue, which mimics error modeling to improve traditional Reservoir Computing performance and integrates the virtues of both approaches. With few assumptions about the underlying stochastic dynamical systems, this model-free method successfully predicts the long-term evolution of stochastic dynamical systems and replicates dynamical behaviors. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed framework in several experiments, including the stochastic Van der Pal oscillator, El Niño-Southern Oscillation simplified model, and stochastic Lorenz system. These experiments consist of Markov/non-Markov and stationary/non-stationary stochastic processes which are defined by linear/nonlinear stochastic differential equations or stochastic delay differential equations. Additionally, we explore the noise-induced tipping phenomenon, relaxation oscillation, stochastic mixed-mode oscillation, and replication of the strange attractor.

Learning Stochastic Dynamical Systems as an Implicit Regularization with Graph Neural Networks

Stochastic Gumbel graph networks are proposed to learn high-dimensional time series, where the observed dimensions are often spatially correlated. To that end, the observed randomness and spatial-correlations are captured by learning the drift and diffusion terms of the stochastic differential equation with a Gumble matrix embedding, respectively. In particular, this novel framework enables us to investigate the implicit regularization effect of the noise terms in S-GGNs. We provide a theoretical guarantee for the proposed S-GGNs by deriving the difference between the two corresponding loss functions in a small neighborhood of weight. Then, we employ Kuramoto's model to generate data for comparing the spectral density from the Hessian Matrix of the two loss functions. Experimental results on real-world data, demonstrate that S-GGNs exhibit superior convergence, robustness, and generalization, compared with state-of-the-arts.

In this paper, we mainly investigate the detection of quantum states containing fewer than $k$ unentangled particles in multipartite quantum systems. Based on calculations about operators, we derive two practical criteria for judging $N$-partite quantum states owning fewer than $k$ unentangled particles. In addition, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our frameworks through some concrete examples, and specifically point out the quantum states having fewer than $k$ unentangled particles that our methods can detect, while other criteria cannot recognize.

Deep Reinforcement Learning in Finite-Horizon to Explore the Most Probable Transition Pathway

In many scientific and engineering problems, noise and nonlinearity are unavoidable, which could induce interesting mathematical problem such as transition phenomena. This paper focuses on efficiently discovering the most probable transition pathway for stochastic dynamical systems employing reinforcement learning. With the Onsager-Machlup action functional theory to quantify rare events in stochastic dynamical systems, finding the most probable pathway is equivalent to solving a variational problem on the action functional. When the action function cannot be explicitly expressed by paths near the reference orbit, the variational problem needs to be converted into an optimal control problem. First, by integrating terminal prediction into the reinforcement learning framework, we develop a Terminal Prediction Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TP-DDPG) algorithm to deal with the finite-horizon optimal control issue in a forward way. Next, we present the convergence analysis of our algorithm for the value function in terms of the neural network's approximation error and estimation error. Finally, we conduct various experiments in different dimensions for the transition problems in applications to illustrate the effectiveness of our algorithm.

Strong quantum nonlocality without entanglement in $n$-partite system with even $n$

In multipartite systems, great progress has been made recently on the study of strong quantum nonlocality without entanglement. However, the existence of orthogonal product sets with strong quantum nonlocality in even party systems remains unknown. Here the even number is greater than four. In this paper, we successfully construct strongly nonlocal orthogonal product sets in $n$-partite systems for all even $n$, which answers the open questions given by Halder et al. [\href{https://journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevLett.122.040403} {Phys. Rev. Lett \textbf{122}, 040403 (2019)}] and Yuan et al. [\href{https://journals.aps.org/pra/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevA.102.042228} {Phys. Rev. A \textbf{102}, 042228 (2020)}] for any possible even party systems. Thus, we find general construction of strongly nonlocal orthogonal product sets in space $\otimes_{i=1}^{n}\mathcal{C}^{d_{i}}$ ($n,d_{i}\geq 3$) and show that there do exist incomplete orthogonal product bases that can be strongly nonlocal in any possible $n$-partite systems for all even $n$. Our newly constructed orthogonal product sets are asymmetric. We analyze the differences and connections between these sets and the known orthogonal product sets in odd party systems. In addition, we present a local state discrimination protocol for our sets by using additional entangled resource. When at least two subsystems have dimensions greater than three, the protocol consumes less entanglement than teleportation-based protocol. Strongly nonlocal set implies that the information cannot be completely accessed as long as it does not happen that all parties are together. As an application, we connect our sets with local information hiding in multipartite system.

Model Based Reinforcement Learning with Non-Gaussian Environment Dynamics and its Application to Portfolio Optimization

With the fast development of quantitative portfolio optimization in financial engineering, lots of AI-based algorithmic trading strategies have demonstrated promising results, among which reinforcement learning begins to manifest competitive advantages. However, the environment from real financial markets is complex and hard to be fully simulated, considering the observation of abrupt transitions, unpredictable hidden causal factors, heavy tail properties and so on. Thus, in this paper, first, we adopt a heavy-tailed preserving normalizing flows to simulate high-dimensional joint probability of the complex trading environment and develop a model-based reinforcement learning framework to better understand the intrinsic mechanisms of quantitative online trading. Second, we experiment with various stocks from three different financial markets (Dow, NASDAQ and S&P) and show that among these three financial markets, Dow gets the best performance based on various evaluation metrics under our back-testing system. Especially, our proposed method is able to mitigate the impact of unpredictable financial market crises during the COVID-19 pandemic period, resulting in a lower maximum drawdown. Third, we also explore the explanation of our RL algorithm. (1), we utilize the pattern causality method to study the interactive relation among different stocks in the environment. (2), We analyze the dynamic loss and actor loss to ensure the convergence of our strategies. (3), by visualizing high dimensional state transition data comparisons from real and virtual buffers with t-SNE, we uncover some effective patterns of better portfolio optimization strategies. (4), we also utilize eigenvalue analysis to study the convergence properties of the environmen's model.

Detecting the Most Probable High Dimensional Transition Pathway Based on Optimal Control Theory

Many natural systems exhibit phase transition where external environmental conditions spark a shift to a new and sometimes quite different state. Therefore, detecting the behavior of a stochastic dynamic system such as the most probable transition pathway, has made sense. We consider stochastic dynamic systems driven by Brownian motion. Based on variational principle and Onsager-Machlup action functional theory, the variational problem is transformed into deterministic optimal control problem. Different from traditional variational method, optimal control theory can handle high dimensional problems well. This paper describes the following three systems, double well system driven by additive noise, Maire-Stein system driven by multiplicative noise, and Nutrient-Phytoplankton-Nooplanktonr system. For numerical computation, based on Pontryagin's Maximum Principle, we adopt method of successive approximations to compute the optimal solution pathway, which is the most probable transition pathway in the sense of Onsager - Machlup.

Orthogonal product sets with strong quantum nonlocality on plane structure

In this paper, we consider the orthogonal product set (OPS) with strong quantum nonlocality. Based on the decomposition of plane geometry, we present a sufficient condition for the triviality of orthogonality-preserving POVM on fixed subsystem and partially answer an open question given by Yuan et al. Phys. Rev. A \textbf{102}, 042228 (2020)}. The connection between the nonlocality and the plane structure of OPS is established. We successfully construct a strongly nonlocal OPS in $\mathcal{C}^{d_{A}}\otimes \mathcal{C}^{d_{B}}\otimes \mathcal{C}^{d_{C}}$ $(d_{A,B,C}\geq 4)$, which contains fewer quantum states, and generalize the structures of known OPSs to any possible three and four-partite systems. In addition, we present several entanglement-assisted protocols for perfectly local discrimination the sets. It is shown that the protocols without teleportation use less entanglement resources on average and these sets can always be discriminated locally with multiple copies of 2-qubit maximally entangled states. These results also exhibit nontrivial signification of maximally entangled states in the local discrimination of quantum states.
