On a non-separable quantum many-particle system on the half-line

In this paper we will report on a one-dimensional, non-separable quantum many-particle system introduced in [arXiv:1504.08283,arXiv:1604.06693]. It consists of two (distinguishable) particles moving on the half-line being subjected to two different kinds of two-particle interactions: singular many-particle interactions localised at the origin and a binding-potential leading to a molecular-like state. We will formulate the model precisely, obtaining a well-defined self-adjoint operator (the Hamiltonian of our system) and elaborate on its spectral properties. In addition, we will present possible directions for future research.

On a two-particle bound system on the half-line

In this paper we provide an extension of the model discussed in [arXiv:1504.08283] describing two singularly interacting particles on the half-line. In this model, the particles are interacting only whenever at least one particle is situated at the origin. Stimulated by [arXiv:1503.08814] we then provide a generalisation of this model in order to include additional interactions between the particles leading to a molecular-like state. We give a precise mathematical formulation of the Hamiltonian of the system and perform spectral analysis. In particular, we are interested in the effect of the singular two-particle interactions onto the molecule.

Two interacting particles on the half-line

In the case of compact quantum graphs, many-particle models with singular two-particle interactions where introduced in [arXiv:1207.5648, arXiv:1112.4751] to provide a paradigm for further studies on many-particle quantum chaos. In this note, we discuss various aspects of such singular interactions in a two-particle system restricted to the half-line $\mathbb{R}_+$. Among others, we give a description of the spectrum of the two-particle Hamiltonian and obtain upper bounds on the number of eigenstates below the essential spectrum. We also specify conditions under which there is exactly one such eigenstate. As a final result, it is shown that the ground state is unique and decays exponentially as $\sqrt{x^2+y^2} \to \infty$.

Eichler integrals for Maass cusp forms of half-integral weight

In this paper, we define and discuss Eichler integrals for Maass cusp forms of half-integral weight on the full modular group. We discuss nearly periodic functions associated to the Eichler integrals, introduce period functions for such Maass cusp forms, and show that the nearly periodic functions and the period functions are closely related. Those functions are extensions of the periodic functions and period functions for Maass cusp forms of weight 0 on the full modular group introduced by Lewis and Zagier.

Generalized Maass Wave Forms

We initiate the study of generalized Maass wave forms, those Maass wave forms for which the multiplier system is not necessarily unitary. We then prove some basic theorems inherited from the classical theory of modular forms with a generalization of some examples from the classical theory of Maass forms.

Nearest lambda_q-multiple fractions

We discuss the nearest lambda_q--multiple continued fractions and their duals for lambda_q = 2 cos(pi/q) which are closely related to the Hecke triangle groups G_q, q=3,4,... . They have been introduced in the case q=3 by Hurwitz and for even q by Nakada. These continued fractions are generated by interval maps f_q respectively f_q^* which are conjugate to subshifts over infinite alphabets. We generalize to arbitrary q a result of Hurwitz concerning the G_q-- and f_q-equivalence of points on the real line. The natural extension of the maps f_q and f_q^* can be used as a Poincare map for the geodesic flow on the Hecke surfaces G_q\H and allows to construct the transfer operator for this flow.

The transfer operator for the Hecke triangle groups

In this paper we extend the transfer operator approach to Selberg's zeta function for cofinite Fuchsian groups to the Hecke triangle groups G_q, q=3,4,..., which are non-arithmetic for q \not= 3,4,6. For this we make use of a Poincare map for the geodesic flow on the corresponding Hecke surfaces which has been constructed in arXiv:0801.3951 and which is closely related to the natural extension of the generating map for the so called Hurwitz-Nakada continued fractions. We derive simple functional equations for the eigenfunctions of the transfer operator which for eigenvalues rho =1 are expected to be closely related to the period functions of Lewis and Zagier for these Hecke triangle groups.

Hecke Operators for Period Functions for Congruence Subgroups

This is basically a summary of [Mu]. The focus of the paper is the explicit computation of Hecke operators for period functions. In particular we compute the matrix representations of the 2nd Hecke operator on period functions for the full modular group $SL(2,Z)$ and the congruence subgroup $Γ_0(2)$. [Mu] Tobias Mühlenbruch. Hecke operators on period functions for $Γ_0(n)$

Matrix representations of Hecke operators on classical holomorphical cusp forms and the corresponding period polynomials are well known. In this article we derive representations of Hecke operators for vector valued period functions for the congruence subgroups $Γ_0(n)$. For this we use an integral transform from the space of vector valued cusp forms to the space of vector valued period functions.

Hecke operators on period functions for the full modular group

Matrix representations of Hecke operators on classical holomorphical cusp forms and corresponding period polynomials are well known. In this article we define Hecke operators on period functions and show that they correspond to the Hecke operators on Maass cusp forms. Moreover we give an explicite general compatibility criterion for formal sums of matrices to represent Hecke operators ob period functions. An explicite example with only nonnegative entries in the matrices is constructed.
