Comultiplicative map on projective resolution for a family of algebras one of which is cluster-tilted type D4

We construct a comultiplicative map on the projective bimodule resolution for a family of algebras one of which is cluster-tilted of type D4. The comultiplicative map is presented in terms of idempotents associated with vertices of the quiver and a chain homotopy map is used to describe the multiplicative structure on the Hochschild cohomology ring of the first member of the family. We define a star product used to describe the cup product structure on the Hochschild cohomology ring for all family members.

Actions of Drinfeld doubles of finite groups on Artin-Schelter regular algebras

For a finite group $G$ and $\Bbbk$ an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero we consider Artin-Schelter regular algebras $A$ on which the Drinfeld double $D(G)$ acts inner faithfully, and its associated algebras of invariants $A^{D(G)}$. Explicit computations for the cases when $G$ is the (generalized) quaternion group of order 8 and 16 are given.

Homotopy lifting maps on Hochschild cohomology and connections to deformation of algebras using reduction systems

We describe the Gerstenhaber bracket structure on Hochschild cohomology of Koszul quiver algebras in terms of homotopy lifting maps. There is a projective bimodule resolution of Koszul quiver algebras that admits a comultiplicative structure. Introducing new scalars, we describe homotopy lifting maps associated to Hochschild cocycles using the comultiplicative structure. We show that the scalars can be described by some recurrence relations and we give several examples where these scalars appear in the literature. In particular, for a member of a family of quiver algebras, we describe Hochschild 2-cocycles and their associated homotopy lifting maps and determine the Maurer-Cartan elements of the quiver algebra in two ways: (i) by the use of homotopy lifting maps and (ii) by the use of a combinatorial star product that arises from the deformation of algebras using reduction systems.

Bracket structure on Hochschild cohomology of Koszul quiver algebras using homotopy liftings

We present the Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the Hochschild cohomology of Koszul algebras defined by quivers and relations using the idea of homotopy liftings. E.L. Green, G. Hartman, E.N. Marcos and O. Solberg provided a canonical way of constructing a minimal projective bimodule resolution of a Koszul quiver algebra. The resolution has a comultiplicative structure which we use to define homotopy lifting maps. We first present a short example that demonstrates the theory. We then study the Gerstenhaber algebra structure on Hochschild cohomology of a family of bound quiver algebras, some members of which are counterexamples to the Snashall-Solberg finite generation conjecture. We give examples of homotopy lifting maps for degree $2$ and degree $1$ cocycles and draw connections to derivation operators. As an application, we describe Hochschild 2-cocycles satisfying the Maurer-Cartan equation.

Homotopy liftings and Hochschild cohomology of some twisted tensor products

The Hochschild cohomology of a tensor product of algebras is isomorphic to a graded tensor product of Hochschild cohomology algebras, as a Gerstenhaber algebra. A similar result holds when the tensor product is twisted by a bicharacter. We present new proofs of these isomorphisms, using Volkov's homotopy liftings that were introduced for handling Gerstenhaber brackets expressed on arbitrary bimodule resolutions. Our results illustrate the utility of homotopy liftings for theoretical purposes.

Cup product on Hochschild cohomology of a family of quiver algebras

Let k be a field, q in k. We derive a cup product formula on the Hochschild cohomology ring of a family Lambda_q of quiver algebras. Using this formula, we determine a subalgebra of k[x,y] isomorphic to Hochschild cohomology modulo N, where N is the ideal generated by homogeneous nilpotent elements. We explicitly construct non-nilpotent Hochschild cocycles which cannot be generated by lower homological degree elements, thus disproving the Snashall-Solberg finite generation conjecture.
