Towards Imperceptible Watermarking Via Environment Illumination for Consumer Cameras

This paper introduces a method for using LED-based environmental lighting to produce visually imperceptible watermarks for consumer cameras. Our approach optimizes an LED light source's spectral profile to be minimally visible to the human eye while remaining highly detectable by typical consumer cameras. The method jointly considers the human visual system's sensitivity to visible spectra, modern consumer camera sensors' spectral sensitivity, and narrowband LEDs' ability to generate broadband spectra perceived as "white light" (specifically, D65 illumination). To ensure imperceptibility, we employ spectral modulation rather than intensity modulation. Unlike conventional visible light communication, our approach enables watermark extraction at standard low frame rates (30-60 fps). While the information transfer rate is modest-embedding 128 bits within a 10-second video clip-this capacity is sufficient for essential metadata supporting privacy protection and content verification.

Null-Space Diffusion Distillation Unlocks Speed, Fidelity and Realism in Lensless Imaging

Lensless imaging reconstructs scenes from highly multiplexed measurements, resulting in a severely ill-posed inverse problem. In this work, we identify a fundamental trade-off between measurement consistency, perceptual quality, and inference speed across lensless reconstruction paradigms. Traditional methods favor consistency but produce perceptually degraded results, supervised approaches achieve high-quality reconstructions with fast inference but may violate physical constraints, and diffusion-prior methods achieve high perceptual quality and consistency--particularly when structured constraints such as range-null decomposition are used--but remain slow due to iterative sampling. Motivated by this observation, we propose Null-Space Diffusion Distillation (NSDD), a single-pass reconstruction model that distills structured diffusion-prior inference into an efficient feed-forward network. NSDD learns to produce high-quality reconstructions that preserve measurement consistency while avoiding costly iterative sampling. Experimental results demonstrate that NSDD achieves perceptual quality and consistency competitive with diffusion-prior methods, while providing significantly faster inference and offering a favorable balance across all three objectives. Furthermore, ablation experiments show that distilling the range--null decomposition improves reconstruction quality and robustness over unstructured full-reconstruction distillation, including on unseen real scenes. These results highlight the potential of structure-aware distillation for efficient lensless imaging. Code is available at github.com/JRCSAVSN/NullSpaceDiffusionDistillation.

Extended Depth-of-Field Lensless Imaging using an Optimized Radial Mask

The freedom of design of coded masks used by mask-based lensless cameras is an advantage these systems have when compared to lens-based ones. We leverage this freedom of design to propose a shape-preserving optimization scheme for a radial-type amplitude coded mask. Due to the depth-independency of the radial mask's point spread function, they can be used for extending the effective depth of field (DOF) of a lensless imaging system. In this paper we optimized a coded mask for improved frequency response, while retaining its radial characteristics and therefore extended-DOF capabilities. We show that our optimized radial mask achieved better overall frequency response when compared to naive implementations of a radial mask. We also quantitatively and qualitatively demonstrated the extended DOF imaging achieved by our optimized radial mask in simulations by comparing it to different non-radial coded masks. Finally, we built a prototype camera to validate the extended DOF capabilities of our coded mask in real scenarios.

Single-Image Depth from Defocus with Coded Aperture and Diffusion Posterior Sampling

We propose a single-snapshot depth-from-defocus (DFD) reconstruction method for coded-aperture imaging that replaces hand-crafted priors with a learned diffusion prior used purely as regularization. Our optimization framework enforces measurement consistency via a differentiable forward model while guiding solutions with the diffusion prior in the denoised image domain, yielding higher accuracy and stability than classical optimization. Unlike U-Net-style regressors, our approach requires no paired defocus-RGBD training data and does not tie training to a specific camera configuration. Experiments on comprehensive simulations and a prototype camera demonstrate consistently strong RGBD reconstructions across noise levels, outperforming both U-Net baselines and a classical coded-aperture DFD method.

Jacobi-Koszul-Vinberg structures on Jacobi-left-symmetric algebroids

A Koszul-Vinberg manifold is a generalization of a Hessian manifold, and their relation is similar to the relation between Poisson manifolds and symplectic manifolds. Koszul-Vinberg structures and Poisson structures on manifolds extend to the structures on algebroids. A Koszul-Vinberg structure on a left-symmetric algebroid is regarded as a symmetric analogue of a Poisson structure on a Lie algebroid. We define a Jacobi-Koszul-Vinberg structure on a Jacobi-left-symmetric algebroid as a symmetric analogue of a Jacobi structure on a Jacobi algebroid. We show some properties of Jacobi-Koszul-Vinberg structures on Jacobi algebroids and give the definition of a Jacobi-Koszul-Vinberg manifold, which is a symmetric analogue of a Jacobi manifold.

Educational Effects in Mathematics: Conditional Average Treatment Effect depending on the Number of Treatments

This study examines the educational effect of the Academic Support Center at Kogakuin University. Following the initial assessment, it was suggested that group bias had led to an underestimation of the Center's true impact. To address this issue, the authors applied the theory of causal inference. By using T-learner, the conditional average treatment effect (CATE) of the Center's face-to-face (F2F) personal assistance program was evaluated. Extending T-learner, the authors produced a new CATE function that depends on the number of treatments (F2F sessions) and used the estimated function to predict the CATE performance of F2F assistance.

Compatibility between Jacobi structures and pseudo-Riemannian cometrics on Jacobi algebroids

We define compatibility between Jacobi structures and pseudo-Riemannian cometrics on Jacobi algebroids. This notion is a generalization of the compatibility between Poisson structures and pseudo-Riemannian cometrics on manifolds, which was defined by Boucetta. We show that the compatibility with a cometric is ``preserved'' by the Poissonization of a Jacobi structure. Furthermore, we prove that for a contact pseudo-metric structure on a manifold, satisfying the compatibility condition is equivalent to being a Sasakian pseudo-metric structure.

Anti-Stokes Photoluminescence from CsPbBr3 Nanostructures Embedded in a Cs$_4$PbBr$_6$ Crystal

Lead halide perovskites possess high photoluminescence (PL) efficiency and strong electron-phonon interactions, and therefore the optical cooling using up-conversion PL has been expected. We investigate anti-Stokes PL from green-luminescent Cs$_4$PbBr$_6$, whose origin is attributable to CsPbBr3 nanostructures embedded in a Cs$_4$PbBr$_6$ crystal. Because of the high transparency, low refractive index, and high stability of Cs$_4$PbBr$_6$, the green PL displays high external quantum efficiency without photo-degradation. Time-resolved PL spectroscopy reveals the excitonic behaviors in recombination process. The shape of the PL spectrum is almost independent of excitation photon energy, which means that the spectral width is determined by homogeneous broadening. We demonstrate that the phonon-assisted process dominates the Urbach tail of optical absorption and anti-Stokes PL at room temperature. Anti-Stokes PL is observed down to 70 K. We determine the temperature dependence of the Urbach energy and estimate the strength of the electron-phonon coupling. Our spectroscopic data show that CsPbBr3 nanostructures have potentially useful features for optical cooling.

Dirac pairs on Jacobi algebroids

We define Dirac pairs on Jacobi algebroids, which is a generalization of Dirac pairs on Lie algebroids introduced by Kosmann-Schwarzbach. We show the relationship between Dirac pairs on Lie and on Jacobi algebroids, and that Dirac pairs on Jacobi algebroids characterize several compatible structures on manifolds or on Jacobi algebroids.

Hom-Poisson-Nijenhuis structures on Hom-Lie algebroids and Hom-Dirac structures on Hom-Courant algebroids

In this paper, we develop the theory of Hom-Lie algebroids, Hom-Lie bialgebroids and Hom-Courant algebroids introduced by Cai, Liu and Sheng. Specifically, we introduce the notions of Hom-Poisson, Hom-Nijenhuis and Hom-Poisson-Nijenhuis structures on a Hom-Lie algebroid and the notion of Hom-Dirac structures on a Hom-Courant algebroid. We show that these structures satisfy similar properties to structures non "Hom-"version. For example, there exists the hierarchy of a Hom-Poisson-Nijenhuis structure and we have a relation between Hom-Dirac structures and Maurer-Cartan type equation. Moreover we show that there exists a one-to-one correspondence between the pairs consisting of a Poisson structure on $M$ and a Poisson isomorphism for it.

Pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds

We introduce the notion of pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds. These manifolds are generalizations of Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds by Magri and Morosi \cite{MM}. We show that any pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifold has an associated quasi-Lie bialgebroid as in the case of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds by Sti$\acute{\mathrm{e}}$non and Xu \cite{SX}. Hence, since a quasi-Lie bialgebroid has an associated Courant algebroid, we have new materials to construct Courant algebroids. In the "nondegenerate" case, we show that the conditions of pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis structures can be reduced. Therefore we can provide lots of non-trivial examples of pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds.

The deformations of symplectic structures by moment maps

We study deformations of symplectic structures on a smooth manifold $M$ via the quasi-Poisson theory. By a fact, we can deform a given symplectic structure $ω$ to a new symplectic structure $ω_t$ parametrized by some element $t$ in $Λ^2\mathfrak{g}$, where $\mathfrak{g}$ is the Lie algebra of a Lie group $G$. Moreover, we can get a lot of concrete examples for the deformations of symplectic structures on the complex projective space and the complex Grassmannian.

Design of a Nanometer Beam Size Monitor for ATF2

We developed an electron beam size monitor for extremely small beam sizes. It uses a laser interference fringe for a scattering target with the electron beam. Our target performance is < 2 nm systematic error for 37 nm beam size and < 10% statistical error in a measurement using 90 electron bunches for 25 - 6000 nm beam size. A precise laser interference fringe control system using an active feedback function is incorporated to the monitor to achieve the target performance. We describe an overall design, implementations, and performance estimations of the monitor.
