A multicenter benchmark and clinically structured metric for coronary CTA report generation

Reliable evaluation of automated coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) report generation requires standardized multicentre benchmarks and clinically structured metrics. We established a four-centre benchmark comprising 3,021 CCTA series from 818 patient-report pairs to evaluate seven open-source three-dimensional vision-language models. We developed CSM$_{\text{CCTA}}$, a clinically structured metric for CCTA report evaluation, with patient-, vessel-, and segment-level variables defined according to clinical guidelines. Report pairs are compared at the finest shared anatomical level, and the contributions of different clinical components are weighted based on expert assessments. We estimated these weights using 70 expert-scored cases and evaluated clinical alignment in a non-overlapping set of 30 cases. CSM$_{\text{CCTA}}$ showed a strong correlation with radiologist scores (Pearson's $r=0.97$, $p<0.001$), exceeding the next-best metric, FORTE ($r=0.70$), by 0.27, and agreed with expert preferences in 115 of 160 pairwise comparisons (71.9\%). Under controlled perturbations, CSM$_{\text{CCTA}}$ remained stable to clinically equivalent wording and decreased monotonically with progressive information omission. In the multicenter benchmark, the CCTA-trained C2RG model achieved the highest CSM$_{\text{CCTA}}$ scores across all four hospitals, although its performance remained far from optimal. In contrast, CCTA-irrelevant reports accounted for up to 98.7\% of the outputs from generalist models. Together, the benchmark provides a standardized setting for model comparison, while CSM$_{\text{CCTA}}$ enables clinically structured evaluation of finding agreement and anatomical specificity. These results support a more clinically aligned and anatomically resolved approach to evaluating CCTA report generation. Code is available at https://openi.pcl.ac.cn/OpenMedIA/CSM_CCTA.

MELLON - Multimodal Enhanced LLM for Online Navigation

Web navigation agents are capable of addressing various types of tasks on different websites. Current baselines on web navigation are either unimodal or lack strong reasoning abilities given multimodal inputs. Focusing on the WebShop benchmark, a real-world website simulation, we explore the alignment of text and images, as well as multimodal reasoning and planning abilities, to enhance the performance of web navigation agents. We propose three innovative multimodal enhancements: Multimodal Enhanced LLM for Online Navigation (MELLON), VQAgent, and Multimodal Ranker. MELLON demonstrates a significant improvement in task completion accuracy, with a 9.26% increase after just one epoch of training. Our findings suggest the necessity of further exploration into multimodal approaches, with a focus on more extensive training and alignment strategies to enhance the effectiveness of web navigation agents.

RV and TTV Measurements of Two Transiting Long-Period Giants around TOI-4600

TOI-4600b and c, originally identified by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and reported by I. Mireles et al. (2023), are a rare pair of transiting long-period giant planets ($\rm P_b=82.7$ days, $\rm P_c=482.8$ days) orbiting an early K dwarf. In this work, we refine the orbital parameters of the TOI-4600 system by combining new TESS photometry, ground-based transit follow-up, and radial velocity (RV) observations from MAROON-X. We obtain improved constraints on planetary masses and eccentricities, and update other parameters, such as the stellar age. For TOI-4600b, we measure a mass of $M_p = 74.7^{+4.7}_{-4.4}\,M_{\oplus}$ and an eccentricity of $e=0.153^{+0.020}_{-0.018}$, and $M_p = 212.53^{+13.26}_{-13.03}\,M_{\oplus}$ and $e=0.219^{+0.015}_{-0.018}$ for TOI-4600c. We find significant transit timing variations (TTV) in both planets, with semi-amplitudes of approximately $1$\,hr. We derive Transit Spectroscopy Metric values of 16.87 for TOI-4600b and 10.09 for TOI-4600c, indicating that both planets are promising JWST targets for studying the atmospheres of temperate and cold Jupiters, a relatively poorly characterized sample thus far. These updated parameters and TTV ephemerides are important for planning and interpreting future photometric, spectroscopic, and dynamical studies of the TOI-4600 system.

Splats in Splats++: Robust and Generalizable 3D Gaussian Splatting Steganography

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has recently redefined the paradigm of 3D reconstruction, striking an unprecedented balance between visual fidelity and computational efficiency. As its adoption proliferates, safeguarding the copyright of explicit 3DGS assets has become paramount. However, existing invisible message embedding frameworks struggle to reconcile secure and high-capacity data embedding with intrinsic asset utility, often disrupting the native rendering pipeline or exhibiting vulnerability to structural perturbations. In this work, we present \textbf{\textit{Splats in Splats++}}, a unified and pipeline-agnostic steganography framework that seamlessly embeds high-capacity 3D/4D content directly within the native 3DGS representation. Grounded in a principled analysis of the frequency distribution of Spherical Harmonics (SH), we propose an importance-graded SH coefficient encryption scheme that achieves imperceptible embedding without compromising the original expressive power. To fundamentally resolve the geometric ambiguities that lead to message leakage, we introduce a \textbf{Hash-Grid Guided Opacity Mapping} mechanism. Coupled with a novel \textbf{Gradient-Gated Opacity Consistency Loss}, our formulation enforces a stringent spatial-attribute coupling between the original and hidden scenes, effectively projecting the discrete attribute mapping into a continuous, attack-resilient latent manifold. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method substantially outperforms existing approaches, achieving up to \textbf{6.28 db} higher message fidelity, \textbf{3$\times$} faster rendering, and exceptional robustness against aggressive 3D-targeted structural attacks (e.g., GSPure). Furthermore, our framework exhibits remarkable versatility, generalizing seamlessly to 2D image embedding, 4D dynamic scene steganography, and diverse downstream tasks.

On-the-fly Large-scale 3D Reconstruction from Multi-Camera Rigs

Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have enabled efficient free-viewpoint rendering and photorealistic scene reconstruction. While on-the-fly extensions of 3DGS have shown promise for real-time reconstruction from monocular RGB streams, they often fail to achieve complete 3D coverage due to the limited field of view (FOV). Employing a multi-camera rig fundamentally addresses this limitation. In this paper, we present the first on-the-fly 3D reconstruction framework for multi-camera rigs. Our method incrementally fuses dense RGB streams from multiple overlapping cameras into a unified Gaussian representation, achieving drift-free trajectory estimation and efficient online reconstruction. We propose a hierarchical camera initialization scheme that enables coarse inter-camera alignment without calibration, followed by a lightweight multi-camera bundle adjustment that stabilizes trajectories while maintaining real-time performance. Furthermore, we introduce a redundancy-free Gaussian sampling strategy and a frequency-aware optimization scheduler to reduce the number of Gaussian primitives and the required optimization iterations, thereby maintaining both efficiency and reconstruction fidelity. Our method reconstructs hundreds of meters of 3D scenes within just 2 minutes using only raw multi-camera video streams, demonstrating unprecedented speed, robustness, and Fidelity for on-the-fly 3D scene reconstruction.

From Generation to Adaptation: Comparing AI-Assisted Strategies in High School Programming Education

This exploratory case study investigated two contrasting pedagogical approaches for LCA-assisted programming with five novice high school students preparing for a WeChat Mini Program competition. In Phase 1, students used LCAs to generate code from abstract specifications (From-Scratch approach), achieving only 20% MVP completion. In Phase 2, students adapted existing Minimal Functional Units (MFUs), small, functional code examples, using LCAs, achieving 100% MVP completion. Analysis revealed that the MFU-based approach succeeded by aligning with LCA strengths in pattern modification rather than de novo generation, while providing cognitive scaffolds that enabled students to navigate complex development tasks. The study introduces a dual-scaffolding model combining technical support (MFUs) with pedagogical guidance (structured prompting strategies), demonstrating that effective LCA integration depends less on AI capabilities than on instructional design. These findings offer practical guidance for educators seeking to transform AI tools from sources of frustration into productive learning partners in programming education.
