Phase transitions and entropy force of charged de Sitter black holes with cloud of string and quintessence

In this paper, we investigate the combined effects of the cloud of strings and quintessence on the thermodynamics of a Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter black hole. Based on the equivalent thermodynamic quantities considering the correlation between the black hole horizon and the cosmological horizon, we extensively discuss the phase transitions of the space-time. Our analysis prove that similar to the case in AdS space-time, second-order phase transitions could take place under certain conditions, with the absence of first-order phase transition in the charged de Sitter black holes with cloud of string and quintessence. The effects of different thermodynamic quantities on the phase transitions are also quantitatively discussed, which provides a new approach to study the thermodynamic qualities of unstable dS space-time. Focusing on the entropy force generated by the interaction between the black hole horizon and the cosmological horizon, as well as the Lennard-Jones force between two particles, our results demonstrate the strong degeneracy between the entropy force of the two horizons and the ratio of the horizon positions, which follows the surprisingly similar law given the relation between the Lennard-Jones force and the ratio of two particle positions. Therefore, the study of the entropy force between two horizons, is not only beneficial to the deep exploration of the three modes of cosmic evolution, but also helpful to understand the correlation between the microstates of particles in black holes and those in ordinary thermodynamic systems.

The gas depletion factor in galaxy clusters: implication from Atacama Cosmology Telescope Polarization experiment measurements

The gas depletion factor $γ(z)$, i.e., the average ratio of the gas mass fraction to the cosmic mean baryon fraction of galaxy clusters, plays a very important role in the cosmological application of the gas mass fraction measurements. In this paper, using the newest catalog of 182 galaxy clusters detected by the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) Polarization experiment, we investigate the possible redshift evolution of $γ(z)$ through a new cosmology-independent method. The method is based on non-parametric reconstruction using the measurements of Hubble parameters from cosmic chronometers. Unlike hydrodynamical simulations suggesting constant depletion factor, our results reveal the trend of $γ(z)$ decreasing with redshift. This result is supported by a parametric model fit as well as by calculations on the reduced ACTPol sample and on the alternative sample of 91 SZ clusters reported earlier in ACT compilation. Discussion of possible systematic effects leaves an open question about validity of the empirical relation $M_{tot}$-$f_{gas}$ obtained on very close clusters. These results might pave the way to explore the hot gas fraction within large radii of galaxy clusters as well as its possible evolution with redshift, which should be studied further on larger galaxy cluster samples in the upcoming X-ray/SZ cluster surveys.

Testing the Etherington's distance duality relation at higher redshifts: the combination of radio quasars and gravitational waves

In this paper we analyse the implications of the latest cosmological data sets to test the Etherington's distance duality relation (DDR), which connects the luminosity distance $D_L$ and angular diameter distance $D_A$ at the same redshift. For $D_L$ we consider the simulated data of gravitational waves from the third-generation gravitational wave detector (the Einstein Telescope, ET), which can be considered as standard candles (or standard siren), while the angular diameter distances $D_A$ are derived from the newly-compiled sample of compact radio quasars observed by very-long-baseline interferometry (VLBI), which represents a type of new cosmological standard ruler. Alleviating the absorption and scattering effects of dust in the Universe, this will create a valuable opportunity to directly test DDR at much higher precision with the combination of gravitational wave (GW) and electromagnetic (EM) signals. Our results show that, with the combination of the current radio quasar observations, the duality-distance relation can be verified at the precision of $10^{-2}$. Moreover, the Einstein Telescope ET would produce more robust constraints on the validity of such distance duality relation (at the precision of $10^{-3}$), with a larger sample of compact milliarcsecond radio quasars detected in future VLBI surveys.

Implications of the lens redshift distribution of strong lensing systems: cosmological parameters and the global properties of early-type galaxies

In this paper, we assemble a well-defined sample of early-type gravitational lenses extracted from a large collection of 158 systems, and use the redshift distribution of galactic-scale lenses to test the standard cosmological model ($Λ$CDM) and the modified gravity theory (DGP). Two additional sub-samples are also included to account for possible selection effect introduced by the detectability of lens galaxies. Our results show that independent measurement of the matter density parameter ($Ω_m$) could be expected from such strong lensing statistics. Based on future measurements of strong lensing systems from the forthcoming LSST survey, one can expect $Ω_m$ to be estimated at the precision of $ΔΩ_m\sim 0.006$, which provides a better constraint on $Ω_m$ than \textit{Planck} 2015 results. Moreover, use the lens redshift test is also used to constrain the characteristic velocity dispersion of the lensing galaxies, which is well consistent with that derived from the optical spectroscopic observations. A parameter $f_E$ is adopted to quantify the relation between the lensing-based velocity dispersion and the corresponding stellar value. Finally, the accumulation of detectable galactic lenses from future LSST survey would lead to more stringent fits of $Δf_E\sim10^{-3}$, which encourages us to test the global properties of early-type galaxies at much higher accuracy.

Satellite-based quantum steering under the influence of spacetime curvature of the Earth

Spacetime curvature of the Earth deforms wavepackets of photons sent from the Earth to satellites, thus influencing the quantum state of light. We show that Gaussian steering of photon pairs, which are initially prepared in a two-mode squeezed state, is affected by the curved spacetime background of the Earth. We demonstrate that quantum steerability of the state increases for a specific range of height $h$ and then gradually approaches a finite value with further increasing height of the satellite's orbit. Comparing with the peak frequency parameter, the Gaussian steering changes more for different squeezing parameters, while the gravitational frequency effect leads to quantum steering asymmetry between the photon pairs. In addition, we find that the influence of spacetime curvature on the steering in the Kerr spacetime is very different from the non-rotating case because special relativistic effects are involved.

The influence of Unruh effect on quantum steering for accelerated two-level detectors with different measurements

We study the dynamics of steering between two correlated Unruh-Dewitt detectors when one of them locally interacts with external scalar field via different quantifiers. We find that the quantum steering, either measured by the entropic steering inequality or the Cavalcanti-Jones-Wiseman-Reid inequality, is fragile under the influence of Unruh thermal noise. The quantum steering is found always asymmetric and the asymmetry is extremely sensitive to the initial state parameter. In addition, the steering-type quantum correlations experience "sudden death" for some accelerations, which are quite different from the behaviors of other quantum correlations in the same system. It is worth noting that the domination value of the tight quantum steering exists a transformation point with increasing acceleration. We also find that the robustness of quantum steerability under the Unruh thermal noise can be realized by choosing the smallest energy gap in the detectors.
