Let $R$ be a commutative Noetherian ring, $Φ$ a system of ideals of $R$ and $M,X$ two $R$-modules. In this paper, we study the Artinianness and cofiniteness of the module $H^i_Φ(M,X)$ which is an extension of the generalized local cohomology modules of Herzog.
Let R be a commutative noetherian ring. In this paper, we study specialization-closed subsets of Spec R. More precisely, we first characterize the specialization-closed subsets in terms of various closure properties of subcategories of modules. Then, for each nonnegative integer n we introduce the notion of n-wide subcategories of R-modules to consider the question asking when a given specialization-closed subset has cohomological dimension at most n.
We introduce a concept of formal local homology modules which is in some sense dual to P. Schenzel's concept of formal local cohomology modules. The dual theorem and the non-vanishing theorem of formal local homology modules will be shown. We also give some conditions for formal local homology modules being finitely generated or artinian.
We introduce a notion of generalized local cohomology modules with respect to a pair of ideals $(I,J)$ which is a generalization of the concept of local cohomology modules with respect to $(I,J).$ We show that generalized local cohomology modules $H^i_{I,J}(M,N)$ can be computed by the Čech cohomology modules. We also study the artinianness of generalized local cohomology modules $H^i_{I,J}(M,N).$
We study basic properties of the generalized ideal transforms $D_I(M, N)$ and the set of associated primes of the modules $R^iD_I(M,N).$
We introduce a local homology theory for linearly compact modules which is in some sense dual to the local cohomology theory of A. Grothendieck. Some basic properties such as the noetherianness, the vanishing and non-vanishing of local homology modules of linearly compact modules are proved. A duality theory between local homology and local cohomology modules of linearly compact modules is developed by using Matlis duality and Macdonald duality. As consequences of the duality theorem we obtain some generalizations of well-known results in the theory of local cohomology for semi-discrete linearly compact modules.
