Quantum Teleportation of a Single Qutrit using Two-Qutrit Entangled States

We demonstrate quantum teleportation of a qutrit system using a complete set of two-qutrit entangled states obtained from the representation theory of the SU(3) group. All measurement gates essential for end-to-end teleportation are systematically evaluated, and these are found to be non-unitary. Our approach extends Bennett's teleportation protocol to the qutrit system with minimal modifications, preserving operational simplicity and underscoring the necessity of non-unitary measurement operators in high-dimensional systems.

Qutrit-based Synthetic Three-Level System

We present a theoretical framework based on the $SU(3)$ group to construct synthetic three-level configurations from a two-qutrit system consisting of two three-level subsystems. Utilizing its underlying algebraic structure and a set of nine $SU(3)$ entangled states, we show that the system Hamiltonian can be mapped onto an effective synthetic three-level manifold without introducing Rydberg states. We investigate the entanglement dynamics of these synthetic configurations by introducing the $SU(3)$ I-concurrence and a generalized Wootters-type $SU(3)$ concurrence as quantitative measures of entanglement in such system.

Unitary and non-unitary operators leverage perfect and imperfect single qutrit teleportation

Teleportation, a novel scheme, initially posited by Bennett \textit{et.al}, has been studied here in the context of sending a single qutrit from Alice to Bob using two qutrit entangled channels as resources. In this paper we have considered two special two qutrit entangled states, which belong to $SU(3)$ group, as useful resources for teleportation. For the successful teleportation, these entangled states have been chosen as quantum channels shared between Alice and Bob. Another entangled basis of two qutrit states have been used as auxiliary states, which would help Alice to manipulate with her channel so that the single qutrit she holds can be successfully teleported to Bob. Bob's choices of measurement operators influence the retrieval of Alice's single qutrit.

Bloch Sphere of the Qutrit System

We present a novel method to study the Bloch space of the qutrit system by examining the Bloch trajectories in it. Since such system is inherently a three-level quantum system, therefore we use the SU(3) group as the basis group to obtain the Bloch vectors of different configurations of it. The norm of the Bloch space is evaluated from the geometric consideration and also from the dynamics of the Bloch vectors and both results are found to be identical. The analysis of the dynamical evolution of the Bloch vectors reveals an additional feature that, under resonant conditions, the Bloch sphere $\mathbb{S}^{7}$ splits into two parts, a four-sphere $\mathbb{S}^{4}$ and a two-sphere $\mathbb{S}^{2}$. The Bloch trajectories of the two sectors across different configurations exhibit a range of simple to complex curves, highlighting the non-trivial structure of the Bloch space of the qutrit system.

An Inequality for Entangled Qutrits in SU(3) basis

It is well-known from the representation theory of particle physics that the tensor product of two fundamental representation of SU(2) and SU(3) group can be decomposed to obtain the desired spectrum of the physical states. In this paper, we apply this tenet in case of two {\it non-local} qubits and qutrits, which leads the complete spectrum of their entangled states in their respective basis. For qutrit system, the study of their properties reveals the existence of a new $\sqrt{2}$ inequality, in addition to usual Bell-CHSH type $2\sqrt{2}$ inequality, which is significant from the experimental point of view.

Resonance fluorescence in $Λ$, $V$ and $Ξ$ -- type three-level configurations

We theoretically study the resonance fluorescence spectra of the lambda ($Λ$), vee ($V$) and cascade ($Ξ$) type three-level configurations. It is shown that each system with two detuning frequencies can be modelled using the $SU(3)$ symmetry group to derive a generalized optical Bloch equation. For each configuration, this equation is solved to calculate the two-time correlation function by invoking the quantum regression theorem. The incoherent part of the power spectra gives the characteristic multi-peak fluorescence profiles which are different for different configurations. We also discuss how the dressed-state structure of such system can explain the origin of quintuplet profile of the fluorescent spectrum.

Entangled States of Qutrit Bipartite System

We develop a systematic method to construct the Bell states of a qubit bipartite system while taking $SU(2)$ group as the basis group. An alternative formulation of fidelity, called $SU(2)$ fidelity, is proposed which gives the Bell-CHSH inequality. Taking analogy from the octet theory governed by the $SU(3)$ group, it is shown that the method can be easily generalized to derive all possible entangled states and the $SU(3)$ fidelity of the higher dimensional bipartite qutrit system. The properties of these states are studied which reveal the existence of some inequalities for the qutrit bipartite system.

A Compendium on General Relativity for Undergraduate Students

We give a pedagogical introduction of the essential features of General Theory of Relativity (GTR) in the format of an undergraduate (UG) project. A set of simple MATHEMATICA code is developed which enables the UG students to calculate the tensorial objects without prior knowledge of any package operation. The orbit equations of light and material particle in Minkowski and Schwarzschild spacetime are solved numerically to illustrate the crucial tests of GTR.

Collapse and Revival Oscillation in Double Jaynes-Cummings Model

We develop a systematic method of solving two non-interacting Jaynes-Cummings models by using the dressed state formalism in Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}_{AB}^{(2\otimes2)}$. It is shown that such model, called Double Jaynes-Cummings model (D-JCM), can be exactly solved if we take the initial bare state as the linear superposition of two Bell states. The collapse and revival oscillation, which is the standard trait of typical Jaynes-Cummings model, can be recovered if we make measurement at each local sites. Some consequence of the entanglement-induced dressing is discussed.

A unified approach to $Λ$-, $Ξ$- and $V$-type systems with one continuum

We present a systematic approach to classify the three-level-like models with two bound states coupled to a continuum. It is shown that, when one of the discrete levels of usual three-level Lambda- ($Λ$), cascade ($Ξ$) or Vee ($V$)-type systems is replaced by a continuum of states, the resulting each model can be classified into three distinct categories with nine possible configurations. We show that all these models are exactly solvable. We obtain and compare the asymmetric Fano line shapes of the spectra for all the models. Our results are important for exploring new coherent effects in a variety of physical systems involving continuum-bound coupling such as photoassociation of cold atoms, plasmonics, quantum dots, photonic crystals, electromagnetic metamaterials and so on.

Comparison of Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in lambda, cascade and vee three-level systems

We discuss the Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) in lambda, cascade and vee type three-level systems where the Hamiltonian and the Lindblad term of each configuration are expressed in the $SU(3)$ representation. At steady state, the Optical Bloch Equations of each configuration are solved to obtain the dispersion and absorption profiles of the probe field along with their group velocities. When the EIT condition is achieved at resonance, the population oscillation shows which of the bare states are contributing to form the dark state. Our study reveals that the dark state for the lambda and cascade system effectively coincides with the lowest bare state of that system, while for the vee system, it is a maximally superposed state of the middle and upper bare states.

Strong gravitational lensing by Schwarzschild black hole

Schwarzschild black holes can produce strong gravitational lensing. The relativistic images are produced due to bending of light around the black hole. We propose a model equation to study the strong gravitational lensing. The model equation can well describe the bending angle from a range very close to the photon sphere to the first relativistic image.

Bloch space structure, the qutrit wave function and atom-field entanglement in three-level systems

We have given a novel formulation of the exact solutions for the lambda, vee and cascade three-level systems where the Hamiltonian of each configuration is expressed in the SU(3) basis. The solutions are discussed from the perspective of the Bloch equation and the atom-field entanglement scenario. For the semiclassical systems, the Bloch space structure of each configuration is studied by solving the corresponding Bloch equation and it is shown that at resonance, the eight-dimensional Bloch sphere is broken up into two distinct subspaces due to the existence of a pair of quadratic constants. Because of the different structure of the Hamiltonian in the SU(3) basis, the non-linear constants are found to be distinct for different configurations. We propose a possible representation of the qutrit wave function and show its equivalence with the three-level system. Taking the bichromatic cavity modes to be in the coherent state, the amplitudes of all three quantized systems are calculated by developing an Euler angle based dressed state scheme. Finally following the Phoenix-Knight formalism, the interrelation between the atom-field entanglement and population inversion for all configurations is studied and the existence of collapses and revivals of two different types is pointed out for the equidistant cascade system in particular.

Bloch space structure of cascade, lambda and vee type of three-level systems and qutrit wave function

The cascade, lambda and vee type of three-level systems are shown to be described by three different Hamiltonians in the SU(3) basis. We investigate the Bloch space structure of each configuration by solving the corresponding Bloch equation and show that at resonance, the seven-dimensional Bloch sphere ${\mathcal S}^7$ is broken into two distinct subspaces ${\mathcal S}^2{\times}{\mathcal S}^4$ due to the existence of a pair of quadratic constants. We also give a possible representation of the qutrit wave function and discuss its equivalence with the three-level system.

Gravitational lensing by wormholes

We have investigated the gravitational lensing by two wormholes, viz., Janis-Newman-Winnicour (JNW) wormhole and Ellis wormhole. The deflection angle in the strong field limit is calculated and various lens parameters of two wormholes are compared. It is shown that the JNW wormhole exhibits the relativistic images, while the Ellis wormhole does not have any relativistic images due to the absence of its photon sphere.

Effect of field quantization on Rabi oscillation of equidistant cascade four-level system

We have exactly solved a model of equidistant cascade four-level system interacting with a single-mode radiation field both semiclassically and quantum mechanically by exploiting its similarity with Jaynes-Cummings model. For the classical field, it is shown that the Rabi oscillation of the system initially in the first level (second level) is similar to that of the system when it is initially in the fourth level (third level). We then proceed to solve the quantized version of the model where the dressed state is constructed by using a six parameter four-dimensional matrix and show that the symmetry exhibited in the Rabi oscillation of the system for the semiclassical model is completely destroyed on the quantization of the cavity field. Finally we have studied the collapse and revival of the system for the cavity field-mode in a coherent state to discuss the restoration of symmetry and its implication is discussed.
