A dynamical system of temperature-dependent sex linked inheritance

Recently, R.Varro introduced a gonosomal algebra of the temperature-dependent sex determination system which is controlled by three temperature ranges. In this paper we study dynamical systems which are given by quadratic evolution operators of the gonosomal algebras of sex-liked populations. We show that this evolution operator can be reduced to an evolution operator of free population. Then using behavior of the free population we describe the set of limit points for trajectories of several evolution operators of the sex-linked populations.

Non-translation-invariant Gibbs Measures for Models With Uncountable Set of Spin Values on a Cayley Tree

We consider models with nearest-neighbor interactions and with the set $[0,1]$ of spin values, on a Cayley tree of order $k\geq 1$. It is known that the "splitting Gibbs measures" of the model can be described by solutions of a nonlinear integral equation. Recently, solving this integral equation some periodic (in particular translation-invariant) splitting Gibbs measures were found. In this paper we give three constructions of new sets of non-translation-invariant splitting Gibbs measures. Our constructions are based on known solutions of the integral equation.

A class of nilpotent evolution algebras

Recently, by A. Elduque and A. Labra a new technique and a type of an evolution algebra are introduced. Several nilpotent evolution algebras defined in terms of bilinear forms and symmetric endomorphisms are constructed. The technique then used for the classification of the nilpotent evolution algebras up to dimension five. In this paper we develop this technique for high dimensional evolution algebras. We construct nilpotent evolution algebras of any type. Moreover, we show that, except the cases considered by Elduque and Labra, this construction of nilpotent evolution algebras does not give all possible nilpotent evolution algebras.

Markov processes of cubic stochastic matrices: {\it Quadratic stochastic processes}

We consider Markov processes of cubic stochastic (in a fixed sense) matrices which are also called quadratic stochastic process (QSPs). A QSP is a particular case of a continuous-time dynamical system whose states are stochastic cubic matrices satisfying an analogue of the Kolmogorov-Chapman equation (KCE). Since there are several kinds of multiplications between cubic matrices we have to fix first a multiplication and then consider the KCE with respect to the fixed multiplication. Moreover, the notion of stochastic cubic matrix also varies depending on the real models of application. The existence of a stochastic (at each time) solution to the KCE provides the existence of a QSP. In this paper, our aim is to construct QSPs for two specially chosen notions of stochastic cubic matrices and two multiplications of such matrices (known as Maksimov's multiplications). We construct a wide class of QSPs and give some time-dependent behavior of such processes. We give an example with applications to the Biology, constructing a QSP which describes the time behavior (dynamics) of a population with the possibility of twin births.

Construction of flows of finite-dimensional algebras

Recently, we introduced the notion of flow (depending on time) of finite-dimensional algebras. A flow of algebras (FA) is a particular case of a continuous-time dynamical system whose states are finite-dimensional algebras with (cubic) matrices of structural constants satisfying an analogue of the Kolmogorov-Chapman equation (KCE). Since there are several kinds of multiplications between cubic matrices one has fix a multiplication first and then consider the KCE with respect to the fixed multiplication. The existence of a solution for the KCE provides the existence of an FA. In this paper our aim is to find sufficient conditions on the multiplications under which the corresponding KCE has a solution. Mainly our conditions are given on the algebra of cubic matrices (ACM) considered with respect to a fixed multiplication of cubic matrices. Under some assumptions on the ACM (e.g. power associative, unital, associative, commutative) we describe a wide class of FAs, which contain algebras of arbitrary finite dimension. In particular, adapting the theory of continuous-time Markov processes, we construct a class of FAs given by the matrix exponent of cubic matrices. Moreover, we remarkably extend the set of FAs given with respect to the Maksimov's multiplications of our previous paper (J. Algebra 470 (2017) 263--288). For several FAs we study the time-dependent behavior (dynamics) of the algebras. We derive a system of differential equations for FAs.

Construction of a set of p-adic distributions

In this paper adapting to $p$-adic case some methods of real valued Gibbs measures on Cayley trees we construct several $p$-adic distributions on the set $\mathbb{Z}_p$ of $p$-adic integers. Moreover, we give conditions under which these $p$-adic distributions become $p$-adic measures (i.e. bounded distributions).

$p$-adic dynamical systems of $(2,2)$-rational functions with unique fixed point

We consider a family of $(2,2)$-rational functions given on the set of complex $p$-adic field $\mathbb{C}_p$. Each such function has a unique fixed point. We study $p$-adic dynamical systems generated by the $(2,2)$-rational functions. We show that the fixed point is indifferent and therefore the convergence of the trajectories is not the typical case for the dynamical systems. Siegel disks of these dynamical systems are found. We obtain an upper bound for the set of limit points of each trajectory, i.e., we determine a sufficiently small set containing the set of limit points. For each $(2,2)$-rational function on $\mathbb{C}_p$ there are two points $\hat x_1=\hat x_1(f)$, $\hat x_2=\hat x_2(f)\in \mathbb{C}_p$ which are zeros of its denominator. We give explicit formulas of radiuses of spheres (with the center at the fixed point) containing some points such that the trajectories (under actions of $f$) of the points after a finite step come to $\hat x_1$ or $\hat x_2$. Moreover for a class of $(2,2)$-rational functions we study ergodicity properties of the dynamical systems on the set of $p$-adic numbers $Q_p$. For each such function we describe all possible invariant spheres. We show that the $p$-adic dynamical system reduced on each invariant sphere is not ergodic with respect to Haar measure.

Boundary conditions for translation-invariant Gibbs measures of the Potts model on Cayley trees

We consider translation-invariant splitting Gibbs measures (TISGMs) for the $q$-state Potts model on a Cayley tree of order two. Recently a full description of the TISGMs was obtained, and it was shown in particular that at sufficiently low temperatures their number is $2^{q}-1$. In this paper for each TISGM $μ$ we explicitly give the set of boundary conditions such that limiting Gibbs measures with respect to these boundary conditions coincide with $μ$.

On four state Hard Core Models on the Cayley Tree

We consider a nearest-neighbor four state hard-core (HC) model on the homogeneous Cayley tree of order $k$. The Hamiltonian of the model is considered on a set of "admissible" configurations. Admissibility is specified through a graph with four vertices. We first exhibit conditions (on the graph and on the parameters) under which the model has a unique Gibbs measure. Next we turn to some specific cases. Namely, first we study, in the case of a particular graph (the diamond), translation-invariant and periodic Gibbs measures. We provide in both cases the equations of the transition lines separating uniqueness from non--uniqueness regimes. Finally the same is done for "fertile" graphs, the so--called stick, gun, and key (here only translation invariant states are taken into account).

Algebras of cubic matrices

We consider algebras of $m\times m\times m$-cubic matrices (with $m=1,2,\dots$). Since there are several kinds of multiplications of cubic matrices, one has to specify a multiplication first and then define an algebra of cubic matrices (ACM) with respect to this multiplication. We mainly use the associative multiplications introduced by Maksimov. Such a multiplication depends on an associative binary operation on the set of size $m$. We introduce a notion of equivalent operations and show that such operations generate isomorphic ACMs. It is shown that an ACM is not baric. An ACM is commutative iff $m=1$. We introduce a notion of accompanying algebra (which is $m^2$-dimensional) and show that there is a homomorphism from any ACM to the accompanying algebra. We describe (left and right) symmetric operations and give left and right zero divisors of the corresponding ACMs. Moreover several subalgebras and ideals of an ACM are constructed.

Flow of finite-dimensional algebras

Each finite-dimensional algebra can be identified to the cubic matrix given by structural constants defining the multiplication between the basis elements of the algebra. In this paper we introduce the notion of flow (depending on time) of finite-dimensional algebras. This flow can be considered as a particular case of (continuous-time) dynamical system whose states are finite-dimensional algebras with matrices of structural constants satisfying an analogue of Kolmogorov-Chapman equation. These flows of algebras (FA) can also be considered as deformations of algebras with the rule (the evolution equation) given by Kolmogorov-Chapman equation. We mainly use the multiplications of cubic matrices which were introduced by Maksimov and consider Kolmogorov-Chapman equation with respect to these multiplications. If all cubic matrices of structural constants are stochastic (there are several kinds of stochasticity) then the corresponding FA is called stochastic FA (SFA). We define SFA generated by known quadratic stochastic processes. For some multiplications of cubic matrices we reduce Kolmogorov-Chapman equation given for cubic matrices to the equation given for square matrices. Using this result many FAs are given (time homogenous, time non-homogenous, periodic, etc.). For a periodic FA we construct a continuum set of finite-dimensional algebras and show that the corresponding discrete time FA is dense in the set. Moreover, we give a construction of an FA which contains algebras of arbitrary (finite) dimension. For several FAs we describe the time depending behavior (dynamics) of the properties to be baric, limit algebras, commutative, evolution algebras or associative algebras.

Tree-hierarchy of DNA and distribution of Holliday junctions

We define a DNA as a sequence of $\pm 1$'s and embed it on a path of Cayley tree. Using group representation of the Cayley tree, we give a hierarchy of a countable set of DNAs each of which 'lives' on the same Cayley tree. This hierarchy has property that each vertex of the Cayley tree belongs only to one of DNA. Then we give a model (energy, Hamiltonian) of this set of DNAs by an analogue of Ising model with three spin values (considered as DNA base pairs) on a set of admissible configurations. To study thermodynamic properties of the model of DNAs we describe corresponding translation invariant Gibbs measures (TIGM) of the model on the Cayley tree of order two. We show that there is a critical temperature $T_{\rm c}$ such that (i) if temperature $T>T_{\rm c}$ then there exists unique TIGM; (ii) if $T=T_{\rm c}$ then there are two TIGMs; (iii) if $T<T_{\rm c}$ then there are three TIGMs. Each such measure describes a phase of the set of DNAs. We use these results to study distributions of Holliday junctions and branches of DNAs. In case of very high and very low temperatures we give stationary distributions and typical configurations of the Holliday junctions.

Four Competing interactions for models with uncountable set of spin values on a Cayley Tree

In this paper we consider four competing interactions (external field, nearest neighbor, second neighbors and triples of neighbors) of models with uncountable (i.e. $[0,1]$) set of spin values on the Cayley tree of order two. We reduce the problem of describing the "splitting Gibbs measures" of the model to the analysis of solutions to some nonlinear integral equation and study some particular cases for Ising and Potts models. Also we show that periodic Gibbs measures for given models are either translation-invariant or periodic with period two and we give examples of the non-uniqueness of translation-invariant Gibbs measures.

Fuzzy transformations and extremality of Gibbs measures for the Potts model on a Cayley tree

We continue our study of the full set of translation-invariant splitting Gibbs measures (TISGMs, translation-invariant tree-indexed Markov chains) for the $q$-state Potts model on a Cayley tree. In our previous work \cite{KRK} we gave a full description of the TISGMs, and showed in particular that at sufficiently low temperatures their number is $2^{q}-1$. In this paper we find some regions for the temperature parameter ensuring that a given TISGM is (non-)extreme in the set of all Gibbs measures. In particular we show the existence of a temperature interval for which there are at least $2^{q-1} + q$ extremal TISGMs. For the Cayley tree of order two we give explicit formulae and some numerical values.

Constrained evolution algebras and dynamical systems of a bisexual population

Consider a bisexual population such that the set of females can be partitioned into finitely many different types indexed by $\{1,2,\dots,n\}$ and, similarly, that the male types are indexed by $\{1,2,\dots,ν\}$. Recently an evolution algebra of bisexual population was introduced by identifying the coefficients of inheritance of a bisexual population as the structure constants of the algebra. In this paper we study constrained evolution algebra of bisexual population in which type "1" of females and males have preference. For such algebras sets of idempotent and absolute nilpotent elements are known. We consider two particular cases of this algebra, giving more constrains on the structural constants of the algebra. By the first our constrain we obtain an $n+ν$- dimensional algebra with a matrix of structural constants containing only 0 and 1. In the second case we consider $n=ν=2$ but with general constrains. In both cases we study dynamical systems generated by the quadratic evolution operators of corresponding constrained algebras. We find all fixed points, limit points and some 2-periodic points of the dynamical systems. Moreover we study several properties of the constrained algebras connecting them to the dynamical systems. We give some biological interpretation of our results.

On cubic stochastic operators and processes

In this paper analogically as quadratic stochastic operators and processes we define cubic stochastic operator (CSO) and cubic stochastic processes (CSP). These are defined on the set of all probability measures of a measurable space. The measurable space can be given on a finite or continual set. The finite case has been investigated before. So here we mainly work on the continual set. We give a construction of a CSO and show that dynamical systems generated by such a CSO can be studied by studying of the behavior of trajectories of a CSO given on a finite dimensional simplex. We define a CSP and drive differential equations for such CSPs with continuous time.
