On periodic $p$-harmonic functions on Cayley tree

We show that any periodic with respect to normal subgroups (of the group representation of the Cayley tree) of finite index $p$-harmonic function is a constant. For some normal subgroups of infinite index we describe a class of (non-constant) periodic $p$-harmonic functions. If $p\neq2$, the $p$-harmonicity is non-linear, i.e., the linear combination of $p$-harmonic functions need not be $p$-harmonic. In spite of this, we show that linear combinations of the $p$-harmonic functions described for normal subgroups of infinite index are also $p$-harmonic.

On Dynamics of $\ell$- Volterra Quadratic Stochastic Operators

We introduce a notion of $\ell$-Volterra quadratic stochastic operator defined on $(m-1)$-dimensional simplex, where $\ell\in\{0,1,...,m\}$. The $\ell$-Volterra operator is a Volterra operator iff $\ell=m$. We study structure of the set of all $\ell$-Volterra operators and describe their several fixed and periodic points. For $m=2$ and 3 we describe behavior of trajectories of $(m-1)$-Volterra operators. The paper also contains many remarks with comparisons of $\ell$-Volterra operators and Volterra ones.

Pirogov-Sinai Theory With New Contours for Symmetric Models

The contour argument was introduced by Peierls for two dimensional Ising model. Peierls benefited from the particular symmetries of the Ising model. For non-symmetric models the argument was developed by Pirogov and Sinai. It is very general and rather difficult. Intuitively clear that the Peierls argument does work for any symmetric model. But contours defined in Pirogov-Sinai theory do not work if one wants to use Peierls argument for more general symmetric models. We give a new definition of contour which allows relatively easier prove the main result of the Pirogov-Sinai theory for symmetric models. Namely, our contours allow us to apply the classical Peierls argument (with contour removal operation).

On a Phase Separation Point for One - Dimensional Models

In the paper a one-dimensional model with nearest - neighbor interactions $I_n, n\in \Z$ and spin values $\pm 1$ is considered. It is known that under some conditions on parameters $I_n$ the phase transition occurs for the model. We define a notion of "phase separation" point between two phases. We prove that the expectation value of the point is zero and its the mean square fluctuation is bounded by a constant $C(β)$ which tends to 1/4 if $β\to\infty$. Here $β=\frac{1}{T}$, $ T>0$-temperature.

Fertile Three State Hard-Core Models on a Cayley Tree

We consider nearest-neighbor fertile hard-core models, with three states, on a homogeneous Cayley tree. It is known that there are four type of such models. We investigate all of them and describe translation-invariant and periodic hard-core Gibbs measures. Also we construct a continuum set of non-periodic Gibbs measures.

On $F$-Quadratic Stochastic Operators

In this paper we introduce a notion of $F-$ quadratic stochastic operator. For a wide class of such operators we show that each operator of the class has unique fixed point. Also we prove that any trajectory of the $F$-quadratic stochastic operator converges to the fixed point exponentially fast.

A Contour Method on Cayley tree

We consider a finite range lattice models on Cayley tree with two basic properties: the existence of only a finite number of ground states and with Peierls type condition. We define notion of a contour for the model on the Cayley tree. By a contour argument we show the existence of $s$ different (where $s$ is the number of ground states) Gibbs measures.

On $q$- Component Models on Cayley Tree: The General Case

In the paper we generalize results of paper [12] for a $q$- component models on a Cayley tree of order $k\geq 2$. We generalize them in two directions: (1) from $k=2$ to any $k\geq 2;$ (2) from concrete examples (Potts and SOS models) of $q-$ component models to any $q$- component models (with nearest neighbor interactions). We give a set of periodic ground states for the model. Using the contour argument which was developed in [12] we show existence of $q$ different Gibbs measures for $q$-component models on Cayley tree of order $k\geq 2$.

On Non-Volterra Quadratic Stochastic Operators Generated by a Product Measure

In this paper we describe a wide class of non-Volterra quadratic stochastic operators using N. Ganikhadjaev's construction of quadratic stochastic operators. By the construction these operators depend on a probability measure $μ$ being defined on the set of all configurations which are given on a graph $G.$ We show that if $μ$ is the product of probability measures being defined on each maximal connected subgraphs of $G$ then corresponding non-Volterra operator can be reduced to $m$ number (where $m$ is the number of maximal connected subgraphs of $G$) of Volterra operators defined on the maximal connected subgraphs. Our result allows to study a wide class of non-Volterra operators in the framework of the well known theory of Volterra quadratic stochastic operators.

An example of one-dimensional phase transition

In the paper a one-dimensional model with nearest - neighbor interactions $I_n, n\in \Z$ and spin values $\pm 1$ is considered. We describe a condition on parametres $I_n$ under which the phase transition occurs. In particular, we show that the phase transition occurs if $I_n\geq |n|, n\in \Z.$

An Analysis of Ising Type Models On Cayley Tree by a Contour Argument

In the paper the Ising model with competing $J_1$ and $J_2$ interactions with spin values $\pm 1$, on a Cayley tree of order 2 (with 3 neighbors) is considered . We study the structure of the ground states and verify the Peierls condition for the model. Our second result gives description of Gibbs measures for ferromagnetic Ising model with $J_1<0$ and $J_2=0$, using a contour argument which we also develop in the paper. By the argument we also study Gibbs measures for a natural generalization of the Ising model. We discuss some open problems and state several conjectures.\

Gibbs Measures For SOS Models On a Cayley Tree

We consider a nearest-neighbor SOS model, spin values $0,1,..., m$, $m\geq 2$, on a Cayley tree of order $k$ . We mainly assume that $m=2$ and study translation-invariant (TI) and `splitting' (S) Gibbs measures (GMs). For $m=2$, in the anti-ferromagnetic (AFM) case, a symmetric TISGM is unique for all temperatures. In the ferromagnetic (FM) case, for $m=2$, the number of symmetric TISGMs varies with the temperature: here we identify a critical inverse temperature, $β^1_{\rm{cr}}$ ($=T_{\rm{cr}}^{\rm{STISG}}$) $\in (0,\infty)$ such that $\forall$ $0\leq β\leqβ^1_{\rm{cr}}$, there exists a unique symmetric TISGM $μ^*$ and $\forall$ $β>β^1_{\rm{cr}}$ there are exactly three symmetric TISGMs : $μ^*_+$, $μ^*_{\rm m}$ and $μ^*_-$ For $β>β^1_{\rm{cr}}$ we also construct a continuum of distinct, symmertric SGMs which are non-TI. Our second result gives complete description of the set of periodic Gibbs measures for the SOS model on a Cayley tree. We show that (i) for an FM SOS model, for any normal subgroup of finite index, each periodic SGM is in fact TI. Further, (ii) for an AFM SOS model, for any normal subgroup of finite index, each periodic SGM is either TI or has period two (i.e., is a chess-board SGM).
