Lie symmetries of a generalized Fisher equation in cylindrical coordinates

In this work we studied a generalized Fisher equation in cylindrical coordinate using Lie symmetry method. We have determined for what type of source function the generalized Fisher equation has Lie Symmetries other than time translation symmetry when the diffusion function is given by an exponential function. Also the reduced ordinary differential equations are obtained corresponding to Lie symmetries of the generalized Fisher equation.

Lie symmetry classification and invariant solutions of time-fractional telegraph systems with variable coefficients

Time-fractional telegraph equations provide fundamental mathematical models for transport processes that exhibit memory and nonlocal effects in industrial and physical systems. These models arise naturally in heat transport in materials with thermal memory, wave propagation in viscoelastic media, and charge transport in spatially heterogeneous semiconductor devices. In this study, we investigate a class of time-fractional telegraph systems with spatially varying coefficients using Lie symmetry analysis and the Riemann--Liouville fractional derivative. We establish a complete Lie group classification for sufficiently differentiable coefficient functions and determine all functional forms that admit such symmetry extensions. The symmetry structure is shown to depend fundamentally on the relationship between the transport coefficient and the potential function, resulting in three distinct symmetry classes. For each case, optimal systems of one-dimensional Lie subalgebras are constructed, and the governing fractional partial differential equations are systematically reduced to fractional ordinary differential equations. Exact invariant solutions are obtained in closed form and expressed in terms of Mittag--Leffler functions, generalized Wright functions, and Fox $H$-functions. These analytical solutions provide valuable insights into fractional telegraph-type transport phenomena and serve as important benchmarks for validating numerical methods in industrial transport modeling and fractional evolution systems.

On invariant solutions of linear time-fractional diffusion-wave equations with variable coefficients

We study invariant solutions of a certain class of time-fractional diffusion-wave equations with variable coefficients via Lie symmetry analysis. In physics, the fractional diffusion equation describes transport dynamics that are governed by anomalous diffusion while the fractional wave equation describes oscillations and wave propagation in various physical systems. In order to obtain exact invariant solutions of these equations, we firstly determine infinitesimal symmetries with respect to the variable coefficients of the equations. With the help of these symmetries, we then find solutions in terms of Mittag-Leffler functions, generalized Wright functions and Fox H-functions.

Solutions of time fractional anomalous diffusion equations with coefficients depending on both time and space variables

We derive explicit solutions for time-fractional anomalous diffusion equations with diffusivity coefficients that depend on both space and time variables. These solutions are expressed in Fox-H and generalized Wright functions, which are commonly used in anomalous diffusion equations. Our study represents a significant advancement in our understanding of anomalous diffusion with potential applications in a wide range of fields.

On solutions of linear fractional differential equations and systems thereof

It is well-known that one-dimensional time fractional diffusion-wave equations with variable coefficients can be reduced to ordinary fractional differential equations and systems of linear fractional differential equations via scaling transformations. We then derive exact solutions to classes of linear fractional differential equations and systems thereof expressed in terms of Mittag-Leffler functions, generalized Wright functions and Fox H-functions. These solutions are invariant solutions of diffusion-wave equations obtained through certain transformations, which are briefly discussed. We show that the solutions given in this work contain previously known results as particular cases.

Lie symmetry analysis of a class of time fractional nonlinear evolution systems

We study a class of nonlinear evolution systems of time fractional partial differential equations using Lie symmetry analysis. We obtain not only infinitesimal symmetries but also a complete group classification and a classification of group invariant solutions of this class of systems. We find that the class of systems of differential equations studied is naturally divided into two cases on the basis of the type of a function that they contain. In each case, the dimension of the Lie algebra generated by the infinitesimal symmetries is greater than 2, and for this reason we present the structures and one-dimensional optimal systems of these Lie algebras. The reduced systems corresponding to the optimal systems are also obtained. Explicit group invariant solutions are found for particular cases.
