Integrability, Duality and Sigma Models

We introduce and study conformal field theories specified by $W-$algebras commuting with certain set of screening charges. These CFT's possess perturbations which define integrable QFT's. We establish that these QFT's have local and non-local Integrals of Motion and admit the perturbation theory in the weak coupling region. We construct factorized scattering theory which is consistent with non-local Integrals of Motion and perturbation theory. In the strong coupling limit the $S-$matrix of this QFT tends to the scattering matrix of the $O(N)$ sigma model. The perturbation theory, Bethe anzatz technique, renormalization group approach and methods of conformal field theory are applied to show, that the constructed QFT's are dual to integrable deformation of $O(N)$ sigma-models.

Integrable structure, W-symmetry and AGT relation

In these notes we consider integrable structure of the conformal field theory with the algebra of symmetries $\mathcal{A}=W_{n}\otimes H$, where $W_{n}$ is $W-$algebra and $H$ is Heisenberg algebra. We found the system of commuting Integrals of Motion with relatively simple properties. In particular, this system has very simple spectrum and the matrix elements of special primary operators between its eigenstates have nice factorized form coinciding exactly with the contribution of the bifundamental multiplet to the Nekrasov partition function for U(n) gauge theories.

On combinatorial expansion of the conformal blocks arising from AGT conjecture

In their recent paper \cite{Alday:2009aq} Alday, Gaiotto and Tachikawa proposed a relation between $\mathcal{N}=2$ four-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories and two-dimensional conformal field theories. As part of their conjecture they gave an explicit combinatorial formula for the expansion of the conformal blocks inspired from the exact form of instanton part of the Nekrasov partition function. In this paper we study the origin of such an expansion from a CFT point of view. We consider the algebra $\mathcal{A}=\text{\sf Vir}\otimes\mathcal{H}$ which is the tensor product of mutually commuting Virasoro and Heisenberg algebras and discover the special orthogonal basis of states in the highest weight representations of $\mathcal{A}$. The matrix elements of primary fields in this basis have a very simple factorized form and coincide with the function called $Z_{\text{\sf{bif}}}$ appearing in the instanton counting literature. Having such a simple basis, the problem of computation of the conformal blocks simplifies drastically and can be shown to lead to the expansion proposed in \cite{Alday:2009aq}. We found that this basis diagonalizes an infinite system of commuting Integrals of Motion related to Benjamin-Ono integrable hierarchy.

Parafermionic polynomials, Selberg integrals and three-point correlation function in parafermionic Liouville field theory

In this paper we consider parafermionic Liouville field theory. We study integral representations of three-point correlation functions and develop a method allowing us to compute them exactly. In particular, we evaluate the generalization of Selberg integral obtained by insertion of parafermionic polynomial. Our result is justified by different approach based on dual representation of parafermionic Liouville field theory described by three-exponential model.

Correlation functions of disorder fields and parafermionic currents in Z(N) Ising models

We study correlation functions of parafermionic currents and disorder fields in the Z(N) symmetric conformal field theory perturbed by the first thermal operator. Following the ideas of Al. Zamolodchikov, we develop for the correlation functions the conformal perturbation theory at small scales and the form factors spectral decomposition at large ones. For all N there is an agreement between the data at the intermediate distances. We consider the problems arising in the description of the space of scaling fields in perturbed models, such as null vector relations, equations of motion and a consistent treatment of fields related by a resonance condition.

On AGT conjecture

In these notes we consider relation between conformal blocks and the Nekrasov partition function of certain $\mathcal{N}=2$ SYM theories proposed recently by Alday, Gaiotto and Tachikawa. We concentrate on $\mathcal{N}=2^{*}$ theory, which is the simplest example of AGT relation.

On mass spectrum in 't Hooft's 2D model of mesons

We study 't Hooft's integral equation determining the meson masses M_n in multicolor QCD_2. In this note we concentrate on developing an analytic method, and restrict our attention to the special case of quark masses m_1=m_2=g/\sqrtπ. Among our results is systematic large-n expansion, and exact sum rules for M_n. Although we explicitly discuss only the special case, the method applies to the general case of the quark masses, and we announce some preliminary results for m_1=m_2.

Differential equation for four-point correlation function in Liouville field theory and elliptic four-point conformal blocks

Liouville field theory on a sphere is considered. We explicitly derive a differential equation for four-point correlation functions with one degenerate field $V_{-\frac{mb}{2}}$. We introduce and study also a class of four-point conformal blocks which can be calculated exactly and represented by finite dimensional integrals of elliptic theta-functions for arbitrary intermediate dimension. We study also the bootstrap equations for these conformal blocks and derive integral representations for corresponding four-point correlation functions. A relation between the one-point correlation function of a primary field on a torus and a special four-point correlation function on a sphere is proposed.

Correlation functions in conformal Toda field theory II

This is the second part of the paper 0709.3806v2. Here we show that three-point correlation function with one semi-degenerate field in Toda field theory as well as four-point correlation function with one completely degenerate and one semi-degenerate field can be represented by the finite dimensional integrals.

Correlation functions in conformal Toda field theory I

Two-dimensional sl(n) quantum Toda field theory on a sphere is considered. This theory provides an important example of conformal field theory with higher spin symmetry. We derive the three-point correlation functions of the exponential fields if one of the three fields has a special form. In this case it is possible to write down and solve explicitly the differential equation for the four-point correlation function if the fourth field is completely degenerate. We give also expressions for the three-point correlation functions in the cases, when they can be expressed in terms of known functions. The semiclassical and minisuperspace approaches in the conformal Toda field theory are studied and the results coming from these approaches are compared with the proposed analytical expression for the three-point correlation function. We show, that in the framework of semiclassical and minisuperspace approaches general three-point correlation function can be reduced to the finite-dimensional integral.

On scaling fields in $Z_N$ Ising models

We study the space of scaling fields in the $Z_N$ symmetric models with the factorized scattering and propose simplest algebraic relations between form factors induced by the action of deformed parafermionic currents. The construction gives a new free field representation for form factors of perturbed Virasoro algebra primary fields, which are parafermionic algebra descendants. We find exact vacuum expectation values of physically important fields and study correlation functions of order and disorder fields in the form factor and CFT perturbation approaches.

On differential equation on four-point correlation function in the Conformal Toda Field Theory

The properties of completely degenerate fields in the Conformal Toda Field Theory are studied. It is shown that a generic four-point correlation function that contains only one such field does not satisfy ordinary differential equation in contrast to the Liouville Field Theory. Some additional assumptions for other fields are required. Under these assumptions we write such a differential equation and solve it explicitly. We use the fusion properties of the operator algebra to derive a special set of three-point correlation function. The result agrees with the semiclassical calculations.

Exact and semiclassical approach to a class of singular integral operators arising in fluid mechanics and quantum field theory

A class of singular integral operators, encompassing two physically relevant cases arising in perturbative QCD and in classical fluid dynamics, is presented and analyzed. It is shown that three special values of the parameters allow for an exact eigenfunction expansion; these can be associated to Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one with positive, negative or vanishing curvature. For all other cases an accurate semiclassical approximation is derived, based on the identification of the operators with a peculiar Schroedinger-like operator.

Form factors of exponential fields for two-parametric family of integrable models

A two-parametric family of integrable models (the SS model) that contains as particular cases several well known integrable quantum field theories is considered. After the quantum group restriction it describes a wide class of integrable perturbed conformal field theories. Exponential fields in the SS model are closely related to the primary fields in these perturbed theories. We use the bosonization approach to derive an integral representation for the form factors of the exponential fields in the SS model. The same representations for the sausage model and the cosine-cosine model are obtained as limiting cases. The results are tested at the special points, where the theory contains free particles.

An eigenvalue problem related to the non-linear sigma-model: analytical and numerical results

An eigenvalue problem relevant for non-linear sigma model with singular metric is considered. We prove the existence of a non-degenerate pure point spectrum for all finite values of the size R of the system. In the infrared (IR) regime (large R) the eigenvalues admit a power series expansion around IR critical point R\to\infty. We compute high order coefficients and prove that the series converges for all finite values of R. In the ultraviolet (UV) limit the spectrum condenses into a continuum spectrum with a set of residual bound states. The spectrum agrees nicely with the central charge computed by the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz method
