On the search for muonic photons in neutrino experiments

Conserved muonic number may turn out to be a conserved muonic charge, coupled to muonic photons, gamma_mu. Muons and muonic neutrinos would emit gamma_mu's, which might be discovered by analysing the data from the past and future high energy neutrino experiments (like CHARM II, CCFR, CHORUS, NOMAD, etc.). There are two sources of gamma_mu's in these experiments: 1) internal bremsstrahlung in pion and kaon decays into mu and nu_mu, which provide neutrino beams; 2) external bremsstrahlung of muons in the shielding of the neutrino beam. In both cases the gamma_mu's would pass freely through the shielding and produce narrow muonic pairs in the neutrino detectors. These pairs could be distinguished from the trident events nu_mu + Z -> nu_mu + mu^+ + mu^- + Z by their kinematical properties: small p_t of the muon pair, small invariant mass, etc. All the above processes are quantitatively analysed in this paper.

Measuring Z-gamma-Higgs vertex effects at e-gamma linear colliders

The one-loop process e,gamma->e,h for intermediate Higgs masses is considered. Exact cross sections for unpolarized and longitudinally polarized beams are computed and found to be more than two orders of magnitude larger than the rates for the crossed process e,e->gamma,h, in the energy range \sqrt{s}=(0.5-2) TeV. We show that, apart from being competitive with the gamma,gamma->H process for testing the one-loop gamma-gamma-H vertex, by requiring a final electron tagged at large angle the channel e,gamma->e,h provides an excellent way of testing the Z-gamma-H vertex.

Physical results by means of CompHEP

The CompHEP package was developed for calculations of decay and high energy collision processes with, correspondingly, up to 5 and 4 final particles in the lowest order (tree) approximation. The main idea put into CompHEP was to make available passing from the Lagrangian to final distributions efficiently with high level automation what is extremely needed in collider physics. The present talk describes a general structure of the CompHEP facilities and reports some physical results obtained with its help. The main purpose of the talk is to attract the attention of high energy physicists to this user-friendly package which is completely aimed at making easier their routine and tedious calculations in the TeV region.

Recursive Algorithm for the Generation of Relativistic Kinematics for Collisions and Decays with Regularizations of Sharp Peaks

We describe an algorithm for the generation of relativistic kinematics for collision and decay processes with multiparticle final states. In the framework of this algorithm it is possible to generate different kinematics covering most of practically interesting cases. One gets a possibility to introduce different sets of integration variables. As a result different sets of kinematical singularities can be regularized. To smooth sharp peaks some regularization formulas and procedures are used covering most typical cases. The algorithm is realized in the package CompHEP created for automatic calculations of collision and decay processes.

Probing the HHH vertex in e+e-, e-gamma and gamma-gamma collisions for light and intermediate Higgs bosons

We have studied double Higgs production at future linear colliders while paying special attention to the option of high-energy and high-luminosity photon beams. The main purpose was to examine the feasibility of e+e-, e-gamma and gamma-gamma colliders in order to probe the anomalous triple Higgs coupling, which is crucial for understanding the Standard Model. We considered mainly the cases of light and intermediate Higgs bosons. Double Higgs production is almost background free, except in the MH=MZ mass range, which is discussed separately. It is shown that for a light Higgs boson the HHH coupling can be measured even at e+e- collider at 500 GeV. For a intermediate Higgs boson a collider in the TeV region is suitable for such an investigation. We have estimated the bounds on the anomalous HHH coupling, which can be experimentally established using future linear colliders.

Single leptoquark production associated with hard photon emission in ep collisions at high energies

In this paper we consider single leptoquark resonance production associated with the emission of a hard photon. We have obtained analytical formulae for differential and total cross sections for the cases of scalar and vector leptoquarks. We have found that in reactions with scalar leptoquarks there is no photon radiation in some directions depending on the leptoquark electric charge (the radiative amplitude zero - the RAZ effect). For vector leptoquarks the exact RAZ is present only in the case of Yang-Mills coupling. We propose to use the RAZ effect to determine the types of leptoquarks. We conclude also that this effect opens a possibility to measure the leptoquark anomalous magnetic moment.

CompHEP - Specialized package for automatic calculations of elementary particle decays and collisions

At present time when a new generation of TeV colliders are beginning to operate one needs to calculate cross-sections for a great number of various reactions. Such calculations are united in the framework of the collider physical program, providing definite predictions how to detect the signatures of the new physics and separate them from the background. The CompHEP package was created for calculation of decay and high energy collision processes of elementary particles in the lowest order (tree) approximation. The main idea put into the CompHEP was to make available passing from the lagrangian to the final distributions effectively with the high level of automatization what is extremely needed in collider physics.

Two-Loop Gluon-Condensate Contributions To Heavy-Quark Current Correlators: Exact Results And Approximations

The coefficient functions of the gluon condensate $ $, in the correlators of heavy-quark vector, axial, scalar and pseudoscalar currents, are obtained analytically, to two loops, for all values of $z=q^2/4m^2$. In the limiting cases $z\to0$, $z\to1$, and $z\to-\infty$, comparisons are made with previous partial results. Approximation methods, based on these limiting cases, are critically assessed, with a view to three-loop work. High accuracy is achieved using a few moments as input. A {\em single} moment, combined with only the {\em leading} threshold and asymptotic behaviours, gives the two-loop corrections to better than 1% in the next 10 moments. A two-loop fit to vector data yields $<\frac{α_{\rm s}}πG^2>\approx0.021$ GeV$^4$.
