Use of the Meta-analysis and Kolmogorov Criteria in the Finding of Singularities of a Nuclear Matter Created in Ultra Relativistic Nuclear Collisions

Published theoretical data from several models: PHSD and HSD both with and without chiral symmetry restoration (CSR), applied to experimental data on nuclear collisions from BEVALAC and SIS to LHC energies were analyzed using meta-analysis and Kolmogorov criteria. This made it possible to localize possible features of nuclear matter created in central nucleus-nucleus collisions. Ignition of a drop of quark-gluon plasma (QGP) begins already at an energy of about $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2 GeV. We estimate that this QGP droplet occupies a small fraction, 15 $\%$ (average radius of about 5.3 fermi if the fireball radius is 10 fermi) of the total volume of the fireball created at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.7 GeV. A drop of exotic matter undergoes a split phase transition: separated boundaries of sharp (1st order) crossover and CSR in chiral limit, between QGP and Quarkyonic matter at an energy about $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 3.5 GeV. The critical endpoint of 2nd order probably cannot be reached in nuclear collisions. The triple phase area occupies interval from $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 12 GeV to 15 GeV, the critical endpoint of 1st order at around $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 20 GeV. The boundary of smooth (2nd order) crossover transition with CSR in chiral limit between Quarkyonic matter and QGP was localized between $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 9.3 GeV and 12 GeV, and between Hadronic and QGP in the interval from $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 15 GeV to 20 GeV, the boundary of sharp (1st order) crossover transition with CSR in chiral limit between Hadronic matter and QGP was localized after $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 20 GeV. The phase trajectory of the hadronic corona, enveloping the exotic droplet, always remains in the hadronic phase.

The comparison of the 3-fluid dynamic model with experimental data

The article considers a way to compare large bulks of experimental data with theoretical calculations, in which the quality of theoretical models is clearly demonstrated graphically. The main idea of the method consists in grouping physical observables, represented by experiment and theoretical calculation, into samples, each of which characterizes a certain physical process. A further choice of a convenient criterion for comparing measurements and calculations, its calculation and averaging within each sample and then over all samples, makes it possible to choose the best theoretical model in the entire measurement area. Published theoretical data of the three-fluid dynamic model (3FD) applied to the experimental data from heavy-ion collisions at the energy range $\sqrt{s_{NN}}\,=\,2.7 - 63$ GeV are used as example of application of the developed methodology. When analyzing the results, the quantum nature of the fireball, created at heavy ion collisions, was taken into account. Thus, even at energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}\,=\,63$ GeV of central collisions of heavy ions, there is a nonzero probability of fireball formation without ignition of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). At the same time, QGP ignition at central collision energies above at least $\sqrt{s_{NN}}\,=\,12 GeV occurs through two competing processes, through a first-order phase transition and through a smooth crossover. That is, in nature, these two possibilities are realized, which occur with approximately the same probabilities.

On the Quantum Nature of a Fireball Created in Ultrarelativistic Nuclear Collisions

In the article, the fireball formed in the collision of relativistic nuclei is considered as a quantum object. Based on this, an attempt is made to explain the difference in the measurements of hyperon yields in the two experiments - NA49 and NA57. Using the basic principles of quantum mechanics, it was shown that a fireball can have two quantum states - with and without ignited Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). With an increase of the collision energy of heavy ions, the probability of QGP ignition increases. At the same time, the probability of the formation of fireball without QGP ignition also remains nonzero even at nuclear collision energies that are much higher than the threshold QGP formation energy, which may be erroneously considered to be fixed and which is intensively sought in modern heavy ion accelerators. Thus, at SPS energy of heavy ion collisions \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 17.3 GeV, which is much higher than the assumed threshold energy of QGP formation in the region around or slightly above of \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 3 GeV, only half of the central collisions of heavy ions bring to the formation of a fireball consisted of deconfined matter, the remaining half of the collisions lead to the formation of a fireball from only hadronic matter.

A possible evidence of the hadron-quark-gluon mixed phase formation in nuclear collisions

The performed systematic meta-analysis of the quality of data description (QDD) of existing event generators of nucleus-nucleus collisions allows us to extract a very important physical information. Our meta-analysis is dealing with the results of 10 event generators which describe data measured in the range of center of mass collision energies from 3.1 GeV to 17.3 GeV. It considers the mean deviation squared per number of experimental points obtained by these event generators, i.e. the QDD, as the results of independent meta-measurements. These generators and their QDDs are divided in two groups. The first group includes the generators which account for the quark-gluon plasma formation during nuclear collisions (QGP models), while the second group includes the generators which do not assume the QGP formation in such collisions (hadron gas models). Comparing the QDD of more than a hundred of different data sets of strange hadrons by two groups of models, we found two regions of the equal quality description of data which are located at the center of mass collision energies 4.4-4.87 GeV and 10.8-12 GeV. At the collision energies below 4.4 GeV the hadron gas models describe data much better than the QGP one and, hence, we associate this region with hadron phase. At the collision energies between 5 GeV and 10.8 GeV and above 12 GeV we found that QGP models describe data essentially better than the hadron gas ones and, hence, these regions we associate with the quark-gluon phase. As a result, the collision energy regions 4.4-4.87 GeV and 10.8-12 GeV we interpret as the energies of the hadron-quark-gluon mixed phase formation. Based on these findings we argue that the most probable energy range of the QCD phase diagram (tri)critical endpoint is 12-14 GeV.

Measurement of the vector and tensor analyzing powers for dp- elastic scattering at 880 MeV

The vector Ay and tensor analyzing powers Ayy and Axx for dp- elastic scattering were measured at Td = 880 MeV over the c.m. angular range from 60 to 140 degrees at the JINR Nuclotron. The data are compared with predictions of different theoretical models based on the use of nucleon-nucleon forces only. The observed discrepancies of the measured analyzing powers from the calculations require the consideration of additional mechanisms.

The light nuclei spin structure from hadronic channels at intermediate energies

The investigation of the d, 3H and 3He spin structure has been performed at the RIKEN(Japan) accelerator research facility and VBLHEP(JINR) using both polarized and unpolarized deuteron beams. The experimental results on the analyzing powers studies in dp- elastic scattering, d(d,3H)p and d(d,3He)n reactions are presented. The vector and tensor analyzing powers for dp-elastic scattering at 880 and 2000 MeV are obtained at the Nuclotron(VBLHEP). The result on the analyzing powers Ay, Ayy of the deuteron at 2000 MeV are compared with relativistic multiple scattering model calculations. The data on the tensor analyzing powers for the d(d,3H)p and d(d,3He)n reactions obtained at Ed = 200 and 270 MeV demonstrate the sensitivity to the 3H, 3He and deuteron spin structure. The essential disagreements between the experimental results and the theoretical calculations within the one-nucleon exchange model framework are observed. The wide experimental program on the study of the polarization effects in dp- elastic scattering, dp-nonmesonic breakup, d(d,3He)n, d(d,3H)p and d(3He,4He)p reactions using internal and extracted beam at Nuclotron is discussed.

The 270 MeV deuteron beam polarimeter at the Nuclotron Internal Target Station

A deuteron beam polarimeter has been constructed at the Internal Target Station at the Nuclotron of JINR. The polarimeter is based on spin-asymmetry measurements in the d-p elastic scattering at large angles and the deuteron kinetic energy of 270 MeV. It allows to measure vector and tensor components of the deuteron beam polarization simultaneously.
