Stability of the Quantum Coherent Superradiant States in Relation to Exciton-Phonon Interactions and the Fundamental Soliton in Hybrid Perovskites

The use of macroscopic coherent quantum states at room temperature is crucial in modern quantum technologies. In light of recent experiments demonstrating high-temperature superfluorescence in hybrid perovskite thin films, in this work we investigate the stability of the superradiant state concerning exciton-phonon interactions, taking into account the specifics of perovskites. We focused on quasi-2D Wannier excitons interacting with longitudinal optical (LO) phonons in polar crystals, as well as with acoustic phonons. Our study leads to the derivation of nonlinear equations in the coordinate space that govern the exciton wavefunction's coefficient in the single-exciton basis for the lowest exciton state, which translates to the complex-valued polarization. The resulting equations take the form of a 2D nonlocal nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation. We perform a linear stability analysis of the plane wave solutions for the equations in question, which allows us to establish stability criteria. This analysis is particularly important for evaluating the stability of the superradiant state in the considered quasi-2D structures, as the superradiant state represents a specific case of the plane wave solution. In scenarios involving the weakly nonlocal NLS equation, we find that it transitions into a purely nonlocal form. Furthermore, interactions between the exciton and acoustic phonons reduce the intensity of modulationally stable waves compared to the case without such interactions. Our analytical results are corroborated by numerical calculations. We also numerically solve the 2D nonlocal NLS equation in the polar coordinates and obtain its fundamental soliton solution, which is stable.

Theory of High-Temperature Superfluorescence in Hybrid Perovskite Thin Films

The recent discovery of high-temperature superfluorescence in hybrid perovskite thin films has opened new possibilities for harnessing macroscopic quantum phenomena in nanotechnology. This study aimed to elucidate the mechanism that enables high-temperature superfluorescence in these systems. The proposed model describes a quasi-2D Wannier exciton in a thin film that interacts with phonons via the longitudinal optical phonon-exciton Frohlich interaction. We show that the superradiant properties of the coherent state in hybrid perovskites are stable against perturbations caused by the longitudinal optical phonon-exciton Frohlich interaction. Using the multiconfiguration Hartree approach, we derive semiclassical equations of motion for a single-exciton wavefunction, where the vibrational degrees of freedom interact with the Wannier exciton through a mean-field Hartree term. Superradiance is effectively described by a non-Hermitian term in the Hamiltonian. The analysis was then extended to multiple excited states using the semiclassical Hamiltonian as the basic model. We demonstrate that the ground state of the model exciton Hamiltonian with long-range interactions is a symmetric Dicke superradiant state, where the Frohlich interaction is nullified. The additional density matrix-based consideration draws an analogy between this system and stable systems, where the conservation laws determine the nullification of the constant (momentum-independent) decay rate part. In the exciton-phonon system, nullification is associated with the absence of a momentum-independent component in the Wannier exciton-phonon interaction coupling function.

Effects of Electron-Vibrational Interaction in Polariton Luminescence: Non-Markovian Fano Resonances and Hot Luminescence

We have developed a non-Markovian theory of the polariton luminescence taking the molecular vibrations into account. The calculations were made in the polariton basis. We have shown that the frequency shift and the polariton spectral lines broadening strongly depend on the frequency-dependent exciton contribution to the polariton. In the single-mode microcavity our non-Markovian theory predicts the Fano resonances in the polariton luminescence, and also narrowing of the spectral lines with the increase of the total number of molecules in the case of the intramolecular nature of the low frequency vibrations. The theory enables us to consider a non-equilibrium (hot) exciton-polariton luminescence similar to the hot luminescence of molecules and crystals. This opens a way for its observation in organic-based nanodevices.

The minimal model of light harvesting complex with dipole-quadrupole interaction derived from ab initio calculation

A minimal, one-parameter model of the excitonic Hamiltonian for the light harvesting complex of purple bacteria (LH2) based on ab initio calculation of the excitonic energies is proposed. The set of input parameters contains positions of atoms in 27 bacteriochlorophyll pigments only. The excitation energies, transition dipole and quadrupole moments of the bacteriochlorophyll units were calculated by advanced multiconfigurational multireference method. In the work we investigate influence of the dipole-quadrupole interaction on the particularities of the absorption spectra and circular dichroism and on the wave-functions localization. We demonstrate that although the spectra changes are small the dipole-quadrupole interaction term leads, however, to almost complete separation of the system onto two subsystems: the small B800 ring of pigments and the large B850 ring. The latter observation is seemed essential for formulation of energy transport models in light harvesting complexes.

Spectral problem of block-rectangular hierarchical matrices

The spectral problem for matrices with a block-hierarchical structure is often considered in context of the theory of complex systems. In the present article, a new class of matrices with a block-rectangular non-symmetric hierarchical structure is introduced and the corresponding spectral problem is investigated. Using these results we study a model of error generation in information sequence where such block-rectangular hierarchical matrices appear in a natural way.

Non-Degenerate Ultrametric Diffusion

General non-degenerate p-adic operators of ultrametric diffusion are introduced. Bases of eigenvectors for the introduced operators are constructed and the corresponding eigenvalues are computed. Properties of the corresponding dynamics (i.e. of the ultrametric diffusion) are investigated.
