Search for the lepton-flavour violating decays $B^+ \to K^+ μ^{\pm} e^{\mp}$

A search for the lepton-flavour violating decays $B^+ \to K^+ μ^{\pm} e^{\mp}$ is performed using a sample of proton-proton collision data, collected with the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8~{\rm TeV}$ and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3$\rm~fb^{-1}$. No significant signal is observed, and upper limits on the branching fractions are set as $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to K^+ μ^- e^+) < 7.0~(9.5) \times 10^{-9}$ and $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to K^+ μ^+ e^-) < 6.4~(8.8) \times 10^{-9}$ at 90 (95) % confidence level. The results improve the current best limits on these decays by more than one order of magnitude.

Measurement of $CP$-violating and mixing-induced observables in $B_s^0 \to ϕγ$ decays

A time-dependent analysis of the $B_s^0 \to ϕγ$ decay rate is performed to determine the $CP$-violating observables $S_{ϕγ}$ and $C_{ϕγ}$, and the mixing-induced observable $\mathcal{A}^Δ_{ϕγ}$. The measurement is based on a sample of $pp$ collision data recorded with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$ at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The measured values are \begin{align*} S_{ϕγ} &= 0.43 \pm 0.30 \pm 0.11, \\ C_{ϕγ} &= 0.11 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.11, \\ \mathcal{A}^Δ_{ϕγ} &= -0.67 \, ^{+0.37}_{-0.41} \pm 0.17, \end{align*} where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This is the first measurement of the observables $S$ and $C$ in radiative $B_s^0$ decays. The results are consistent with the Standard Model predictions.

Measurement of $C\!P$ observables in the process $B^0 \to DK^{*0}$ with two- and four-body $D$ decays

Measurements of $C\!P$ observables in $B^0 \to DK^{*0}$ decays are presented, where $D$ represents a superposition of $D^0$ and $\bar{D}^0$ states. The $D$ meson is reconstructed in the two-body final states $K^+π^-$, $π^+ K^-$, $K^+K^-$ and $π^+π^-$, and, for the first time, in the four-body final states $K^+π^-π^+π^-$, $π^+ K^-π^+π^-$ and $π^+π^-π^+π^-$. The analysis uses a sample of neutral $B$ mesons produced in proton-proton collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0, 2.0 and 1.8 $\rm fb^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s} = $ 7, 8 and 13 TeV, respectively. First observations of the decays $B^0 \to D(π^+ K^-)K^{*0}$ and $B^0 \to D(π^+π^-π^+π^-)K^{*0}$ are obtained. The measured observables are interpreted in terms of the $C\!P$-violating weak phase $γ$.

Observation of a narrow pentaquark state, $P_c(4312)^+$, and of two-peak structure of the $P_c(4450)^+$

A narrow pentaquark state, $P_c(4312)^+$, decaying to $J/ψp$ is discovered with a statistical significance of $7.3σ$ in a data sample of ${Λ_b^0\to J/ψp K^-}$ decays which is an order of magnitude larger than that previously analyzed by the LHCb collaboration. The $P_c(4450)^+$ pentaquark structure formerly reported by LHCb is confirmed and observed to consist of two narrow overlapping peaks, $P_c(4440)^+$ and $P_c(4457)^+$, where the statistical significance of this two-peak interpretation is $5.4σ$. Proximity of the $Σ_c^+\bar{D}^{0}$ and $Σ_c^+\bar{D}^{*0}$ thresholds to the observed narrow peaks suggests that they play an important role in the dynamics of these states.

Flat structures on the deformations of Gepner chiral rings

We propose a simple method for the computation of the flat coordinates and Saito primitive forms on Frobenius manifolds of the deformations of Jacobi rings associated with isolated singularities. The method is based on using a conjecture about integral representations for the flat coordinates and on the Saito cohomology theory. This reduces the computation to a simple linear problem. We consider the case of the deformed Gepner chiral rings. The knowledge of the flat structures of Frobenius manifolds can be used for exact solution of the models of the topological conformal field theories corresponding to these chiral rings.

Matrix model approach to minimal Liouville gravity revisited

Using the connection with the Frobenius manifold structure, we study the matrix model description of minimal Liouville gravity (MLG) based on the Douglas string equation. Our goal is to find an exact discrete formulation of the (q,p) MLG model that intrinsically contains information about the conformal selection rules. We discuss how to modify the Frobenius manifold structure appropriately for this purposes. We propose a modification of the construction for Lee-Yang series involving the $A_{p-1}$ algebra instead of the previously used $A_1$ algebra. With the new prescription, we calculate correlators on the sphere up to four points and find full agreement with the continuous approach without using resonance transformations.

Correlation Functions in Unitary Minimal Liouville Gravity and Frobenius Manifolds

We continue to study minimal Liouville gravity (MLG) using a dual approach based on the idea that the MLG partition function is related to the tau function of the A_q integrable hierarchy via the resonance transformations, which are in turn fixed by conformal selection rules. One of the main problems in this approach is to choose the solution of the Douglas string equation that is relevant for MLG. The appropriate solution was recently found using connection with the Frobenius manifolds. We use this solution to investigate three- and four-point correlators in the unitary MLG models. We find an agreement with the results of the original approach in the region of the parameters where both methods are applicable. In addition, we find that only part of the selection rules can be satisfied using the resonance transformations. The physical meaning of the nonzero correlators, which before coupling to Liouville gravity are forbidden by the selection rules, and also the modification of the dual formulation that takes this effect into account remains to be found.

Unitary Minimal Liouville Gravity and Frobenius Manifolds

We study unitary minimal models coupled to Liouville gravity using Douglas string equation. Our approach is based on the assumption that there exist an appropriate solution of the Douglas string equation and some special choice of the resonance transformation such that necessary selection rules of the minimal Liouville gravity are satisfied. We use the connection with the Frobenius manifold structure. We argue that the flat coordinates on the Frobenius manifold are the most appropriate choice for calculating correlation functions. We find the appropriate solution of the Douglas string equation and show that it has simple form in the flat coordinates. Important information is encoded in the structure constants of the Frobenius algebra. We derive these structure constants in the canonical coordinates and in the physically relevant domain in the flat coordinates. We find the leading terms of the resonance transformation and express the coefficients of the resonance transformation in terms of Jacobi polynomials.

Conformal blocks of Chiral fields in N=2 SUSY CFT and Affine Laumon Spaces

We consider the problem of computing N=2 superconformal block functions. We argue that the Kazama-Suzuki coset realization of N=2 superconformal algebra in terms of the affine sl(2) algebra provides relations between N=2 and affine sl(2) conformal blocks. We show that for N=2 chiral fields the corresponding sl(2) construction of the conformal blocks is based on the ordinary highest weight representation. We use an AGT-type correspondence to relate the four-point sl(2) conformal block with Nekrasov's instanton partition functions of a four-dimensional N=2 SU(2) gauge theory in the presence of a surface operator. Since the previous relation proposed by Alday and Tachikawa requires some special modification of the conformal block function, we revisit this problem and find direct correspondence for the four-point conformal block. We thus find an explicit representation for the affine sl(2) four-point conformal block and hence obtain an explicit combinatorial representation for the N=2 chiral four-point conformal block.

N=2 superconformal blocks and instanton partition functions

We consider the problem of computing (irregular) conformal blocks in 2d CFTs whose chiral symmetry algebra is the N=2 superconformal algebra. Our construction uses two ingredients: (i) the relation between the representation theories of the N=2 superconformal algebra and the affine sl(2) algebra, extended to the level of the conformal blocks, and (ii) the relation between affine sl(2) conformal blocks and instanton partition functions in the 4d N=2 SU(2) gauge theory with a surface defect. By combining these two facts we derive combinatorial expressions for the N=2 superconformal blocks in the Gaiotto limit.

Instantons and 2d Superconformal field theory

A recently proposed correspondence between 4-dimensional N=2 SUSY SU(k) gauge theories on R^4/Z_m and SU(k) Toda-like theories with Z_m parafermionic symmetry is used to construct four-point N=1 super Liouville conformal block, which corresponds to the particular case k=m=2. The construction is based on the conjectural relation between moduli spaces of SU(2) instantons on R^4/Z_2 and algebras like \hat{gl}(2)_2\times NSR. This conjecture is confirmed by checking the coincidence of number of fixed points on such instanton moduli space with given instanton number N and dimension of subspace degree N in the representation of such algebra.

Super Liouville conformal blocks from N=2 SU(2) quiver gauge theories

The conjecture about the correspondence between instanton partition functions in the N=2 SUSY Yang-Mills theory and conformal blocks of two-dimensional conformal field theories is extended to the case of the N=1 supersymmetric conformal blocks. We find that the necessary modification of the moduli space of instantons requires additional restriction of Z(2)-symmetry. This leads to an explicit form of the N=1 superconformal blocks in terms of Young diagrams with two sorts of cells.

AGT conjecture and Integrable structure of Conformal field theory for c=1

AGT correspondence gives an explicit expressions for the conformal blocks of $d=2$ conformal field theory. Recently an explanation of this representation inside the CFT framework was given through the assumption about the existence of the special orthogonal basis in the module of algebra $\mathcal{A}=Vir\otimes\mathcal{H}$. The basis vectors are the eigenvectors of the infinite set of commuting integrals of motion. It was also proven that some of these vectors take form of Jack polynomials. In this note we conjecture and verify by explicit computations that in the case of the Virasoro central charge $c=1$ all basis vectors are just the products of two Jack polynomials. Each of the commuting integrals of motion becomes the sum of two integrals of motion of two noninteracting Calogero models. We also show that in the case $c\neq1$ it is necessary to use two different Feigin-Fuks bosonizations of the Virasoro algebra for the construction of all basis vectors which take form of one Jack polynomial.

Higher Equations of Motion in Boundary Liouville Field Theory

In addition to the ordinary bulk higher equations of motion in the boundary version of the Liouville conformal field theory, an infinite set of relations containing the boundary operators is found. These equations are in one-to-one correspondence with the singular representations of the Virasoro algebra. We comment on the possible applications in the context of minimal boundary Liouville gravity.

Four-point function in Super Liouville Gravity

We consider the 2D super Liouville gravity coupled to the minimal superconformal theory. We analyze the physical states in the theory and give the general form of the n-point correlation numbers on the sphere in terms of integrals over the moduli space. The three-point correlation numbers are presented explicitly. For the four-point correlators, we show that the integral over the moduli space reduces to the boundary terms if one of the fields is degenerate. It turns out that special logarithmic fields are relevant for evaluating these boundary terms. We discuss the construction of these fields and study their operator product expansions. This analysis allows evaluating the four-point correlation numbers. The derivation is analogous to the one in the bosonic case and is based on the recently derived higher equations of motion of the super Liouville field theory.

Bootstrap in Supersymmetric Liouville Field Theory. I. NS Sector

A four point function of basic Neveu-Schwarz exponential fields is constructed in the N = 1 supersymmetric Liouville field theory. Although the basic NS structure constants were known previously, we present a new derivation, based on a singular vector decoupling in the NS sector. This allows to stay completely inside the NS sector of the space of states, without referencing to the Ramond fields. The four-point construction involves also the NS blocks, for which we suggest a new recursion representation, the so-called elliptic one. The bootstrap conditions for this four point correlation function are verified numerically for different values of the parameters.
