Are LHCb exotics $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0$, $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++}$ and $\overline{X}_0(2900)$ members of an $SU_F(3)$ ${\bf 6}$-plet?

Manifestly exotic scalar resonance $X_0(2900)^0$ with minimal quark content of $[\bar{c} \bar{s} u d]$ was reported by LHCb in 2020. More recently LHCb reported discovery of manifestly exotic $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0$ and $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++}$ scalar states, degenerate with the $X_0(2900)$. We argue that these are three of six members of the flavor $SU(3)_F$ symmetry ${\bf 6}$-plet. We predict the partial widths of $D(2900)^{*0}$, the crucial non-strange missing member of the tetraquark ${\bf 6}$-plet, and discuss the optimal decay channels for its detection.

Linear stability of periodic three-body orbits with zero angular momentum and topological dependence of Kepler's third law: a numerical test

We test numerically the recently proposed linear relationship between the scale-invariant period $T_{\rm s.i.} = T |E|^{3/2}$, and the topology of an orbit, on several hundred planar Newtonian periodic three-body orbits. Here $T$ is the period of an orbit, $E$ is its energy, so that $T_{\rm s.i.}$ is the scale-invariant (s.i.) period, or, equivalently, the period at unit energy $|E| = 1$. All of these orbits have vanishing angular momentum and pass through a linear, equidistant configuration at least once. Such orbits are classified in ten algebraically well-defined sequences. Orbits in each sequence follow an approximate linear dependence of $T_{\rm s.i.}$, albeit with slightly different slopes and intercepts. The orbit with the shortest period in its sequence is called the "progenitor": six distinct orbits are the progenitors of these ten sequences. We have studied linear stability of these orbits, with the result that 21 orbits are linearly stable, which includes all of the progenitors. This is consistent with the Birkhoff-Lewis theorem, which implies existence of infinitely many periodic orbits for each stable progenitor, and in this way explains the existence and ensures infinite extension of each sequence.

Periodic three-body orbits in the Coulomb potential

We numerically discovered around 100 distinct nonrelativistic collisionless periodic three-body orbits in the Coulomb potential in vacuo, with vanishing angular momentum, for equal-mass ions with equal absolute values of charges. These orbits are classified according to their symmetry and topology, and a linear relation is established between the periods, at equal energy, and the topologies of orbits. Coulombic three-body orbits can be formed in ion traps, such as the Paul, or the Penning one, where one can test the period vs topology prediction.

O(6) algebraic theory of three nonrelativistic quarks bound by spin-independent interactions

We apply the newly developed theory of permutation-symmetric O(6) hyperspherical harmonics to the quantum-mechanical problem of three non-relativistic quarks confined by a spin-independent 3-quark potential. We use our previously derived results to reduce the three-body Schrödinger equation to a set of coupled ordinary differential equations in the hyper-radius $R$ with coupling coefficients expressed entirely in terms of (i) a few interaction-dependent O(6) expansion coefficients and (ii) O(6) hyperspherical harmonics matrix elements, that have been evaluated in our previous paper. This system of equations allows a solution to the eigenvalue problem with homogeneous 3-quark potentials, which class includes a number of standard Ansätze for the confining potentials, such as the Y- and $Δ$-string ones. We present analytic formulae for the $K = 2, 3, 4, 5$ shell states' eigen-energies in homogeneous three-body potentials, which formulae we then apply to the Y- and $Δ$-string, as well as the logarithmic confining potentials. We also present numerical results for power-law pair-wise potentials with the exponent ranging between -1 and +2. In the process we resolve the 25 year-old Taxil and Richard vs. Bowler et al. controversy regarding the ordering of states in the $K = 3$ shell, in favor of the former. Finally, we show the first clear difference between the spectra of $Δ$- and Y-string potentials, which appears in $K \geq 3$ shells. Our results are generally valid, not just for confining potentials, but also for many momentum-independent permutation-symmetric homogenous potentials, that need not be pairwise sums of two-body terms. The potentials that can be treated in this way must be square-integrable under the O(6) hyperangular integral, however, which class does not include the Dirac $δ$-function.

Topological Dependence of Kepler's Third Law for Collisionless Periodic Three-Body Orbits with Vanishing Angular Momentum and Equal Masses

We present results of numerical calculations showing a three-body orbit's period's $T$ dependence on its topology. This dependence is a simple linear one, when expressed in terms of appropriate variables, suggesting an exact mathematical law. This is the first known relation between topological and kinematical properties of three-body systems. We have used these results to predict the periods of several sets of as yet undiscovered orbits, but the relation also indicates that the number of periodic three-body orbits with periods shorter than any finite number is countable.

Gravitational Waves from Periodic Three-Body Systems

Three bodies moving in a periodic orbit under the influence of Newtonian gravity ought to emit gravitational waves. We have calculated the gravitational radiation quadrupolar waveforms and the corresponding luminosities for the 13+11 recently discovered three-body periodic orbits in Newtonian gravity. These waves clearly allow one to distinguish between their sources: all 13+11 orbits have different waveforms and their luminosities (evaluated at the same orbit energy and body mass) vary by up to 13 orders of magnitude in the mean, and up to 20 orders of magnitude for the peak values.

Three Classes of Newtonian Three-Body Planar Periodic Orbits

We present the results of a numerical search for periodic orbits of three equal masses moving in a plane under the influence of Newtonian gravity, with zero angular momentum. A topological method is used to classify periodic three-body orbits into families, which fall into four classes, with all three previously known families belonging to one class. The classes are defined by the orbits geometric and algebraic symmetries. In each class we present a few orbits initial conditions, 15 in all; 13 of these correspond to distinct orbits.

On the smooth cross-over transition from the Delta-string to the Y-string three-quark potential

We comment on the assertion made by Caselle et al., J. Stat. Mech. 0603, P008 (2006), that the confining (string) potential for three quarks "makes a smooth cross-over transition from the Delta-string to the Y-string configuration at interquark distances of around 0.8 fm". We study the functional dependence of the three-quark confining potentials due to a Y-string, and the Delta-string and show that they have different symmetries, which lead to different constants of the motion (i.e. they belong to different "universality classes" in the parlance of the theory of phase transitions). This means that there is no "smooth cross-over" between the two, when their string tensions are identical, except at the vanishing hyper-radius. We also comment on a certain two-body potential approximation to the Y-string potential.

Positivity restrictions in polarized coincidence electronuclear scattering

We make a systematic examination of the role played by the restriction that the cross section in polarized coincidence electronuclear processes must be positive. The necessary formalism for unpolarized scattering structure functions is developed within two frameworks: (i) the response tensor method; and (ii) the Jacob-Wick method. Equivalence of the two methods is demonstrated for unpolarized scattering, and then the simpler Jacob-Wick method is applied to the polarized pseudoscalar electroproduction off a nucleon. We derive three known and eight new inequalities among the polarized target structure functions, as well as eleven new polarized ejectile structure functions inequalities. We also provide rules for this method to be used in deuteron two-body electrodisintegration in conjunction with the results published in Phys. Rev. C 40, 2479 (1989).

A next-to-next-to-leading order pp -> ppπ^0 transition operator in chiral perturbation theory

We discuss the results of a systematic calculation of the next-to-next-to-leading order amplitude for the pp -> ppπ^0 S-wave production at the threshold in heavy-baryon chiral perturbation theory. We find six new diagrams, two of which can be viewed as vertex corrections, of 15 - 20 %, to the pion-exchange graph, whereas the rest are much larger, one exceeding 900 %. We discuss the reasons for this enhancement, as well as the steps necessary to be taken before the final comparison with experiment.

A next-to-next-to-leading-order $pp \to ppπ^0$ transition operator in chiral perturbation theory

We present a systematic analysis of next-to-next-to-leading-order diagrams that contribute to the $pp \to ppπ^0$ production at threshold. Analytic expressions are given for the effective transition operators, and the relative importance of various types of diagrams is discussed. The vertex-correction-type graphs are found to give only small corrections to lower order graphs in conformity with expectations. By contrast, we find very large contributions from the two-pion graphs which can be interpreted as a part of effective $σ$-meson exchange diagrams. The recoil correction to the pion rescattering diagram also turns out to be large.

Composite photon and W^\pm, Z^0 vector bosons from a top-condensation model at fixed v = 247 GeV

Starting from the historical Fermi four-fermion low-energy effective electroweak interactions Lagrangian for the third generation of quarks, augmented by an NJL type interaction responsible for dynamical symmetry breaking and heavy quark mass generation, and fixing the scalar (Higgs) field v.e.v. at v = 247 GeV, we show that: (1) heavy quark bound states Q\bar Q with quantum numbers of the W^\pm bosons exist for arbitrarily weak (positive) vector coupling G_F, so long as the quark mass is sufficiently large; (2) a massive composite neutral vector boson (Z^0) appears; (3) a massless composite parity-conserving neutral vector boson (γ) appears, the composite Higgs-Kibble ghosts decouple from the quarks and other particles, the longitudinal components of the vector boson propagators vanish, as G_F \to G_F^expt = 1/(\sqrt2 v^2), which also implies that the cutoff Λ\to \infty. Thus, the Fermi interaction model is equivalent to a locally gauge invariant theory but with definite values of coupling constants and masses. The model discussed here was chosen for illustrative purposes and is not equivalent to the Standard Model.

On the chiral low-density theorem

We show how the linear "low-density theorem" of Drukarev and Levin can be extended to arbitrary positive integer power of the baryon density $ρ$. The n^th coefficient in the McLaurin expansion of the fermion condensate's $ρ$ dependence is the connected n-nucleon sigma term matrix element. We calculate the $O(ρ^2)$ coefficient in lowest-order perturbative approximation to the linear sigma model and then show how this and other terms can be iterated to arbitrarily high order. Convergence radius of the result is discussed.

Bound state in the vector channel of the extended Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model at fixed f_π

We show that, as a consequence of fixing f_π= 93 MeV: (1) a bound state pole in the J^P = 1^- scattering amplitude of the ENJL model exists for arbitrarily weak (positive) vector coupling G_2 so long as the constituent quark mass is sufficiently large; (2) there is a bound state for any quark mass when G_2 \geq 0.6/(8 f_π^2); (3) this bound state becomes massless at G_2 = 1/(8 f_π^2) and a tachyon for G_2 exceeding it. We show by way of an example that the model has no trouble fitting the ρmeson mass simultaneously with other observables.

Reply to Comment on "Hara's theorem in the constituent quark model"

In the preceding Comment it is alleged that a "hidden loophole" in the proof of Hara's theorem has been found, which purportedly invalidates the conclusions of the paper commented upon. I show that there is no such loophole in the constituent quark model, and that the "counterexample" presented in the Comment is not gauge invariant.

A Comment on General Formulae for Polarization Observables in Deuteron Electrodisintegration and Linear Relations

We establish a simple, explicit relation between the formalisms employed in the treatments of polarization observables in deuteron two-body electrodisintegration published by Arenhövel, Leidemann, and Tomusiak in Few-Body Systems {\bf 15}, 109 (1993) and the results of the present authors published in Phys.~Rev.~C {\bf 40}, 2479 (1989). We comment on the overlap between the two sets of results.

Monte Carlo and Renormalization Group Effective Potentials in Scalar Field Theories

We study constraint effective potentials for various strongly interacting $ϕ^4$ theories. Renormalization group (RG) equations for these quantities are discussed and a heuristic development of a commonly used RG approximation is presented which stresses the relationships among the loop expansion, the Schwinger-Dyson method and the renormalization group approach. We extend the standard RG treatment to account explicitly for finite lattice effects. Constraint effective potentials are then evaluated using Monte Carlo (MC) techniques and careful comparisons are made with RG calculations. Explicit treatment of finite lattice effects is found to be essential in achieving quantitative agreement with the MC effective potentials. Excellent agreement is demonstrated for $d=3$ and $d=4$, O(1) and O(2) cases in both symmetric and broken phases.
