Multi-dimensional Weyl almost periodic type functions and applications

In this paper, we analyze multi-dimensional Weyl almost periodic type functions in Lebesgue spaces with variable exponents. The introduced classes seem to be new and not considered elsewhere even in the constant coefficient case. We provide certain applications to the abstract Volterra integro-differential equations in Banach spaces.

Electronic structure and magnetic properties of graphene/Co composites

The results of measurements of XPS spectra and magnetic properties of graphene/Co composites prepared by adding of CoCl$_2$x6H$_2$O diluted in ethyl alcohol to highly-splitted graphite are presented. XPS Co 2p measurements show two sets of 2p$_{3/2,1/2}$-lines belonging to oxidized and metallic Co-atoms. This means that metal in composite is partly oxidized. This conclusion is confirmed by magnetic measurements which show the presence of the main (from the metal) and shifted (from the oxide) hysteresis loops. The presence of oxide layer on the metal surface prevents the metal from the full oxidation and (as shown by magnetic measurements) provides the preservation of ferromagnetic properties after long exposure in ambient air which enables the use of graphene/metal composites in spintronics devices.

Mathematical model of solid tumor formation

The problem of the onset and growth of solid tumour in homogeneous tissue is regarded using an approach based on local interaction between the tumoral and the sane tissue cells. The characteristic sizes and growth rates of spherical tumours, the points of the beginning and the end of spherical growth, and the further development of complex structures (elongated outgrowths, dendritic structures, and metastases) are derived from the assumption that the reproduction rate of a population of cancer cells is a non-monotone function of their local concentration. The predicted statistical distribution of the characteristic tumour sizes, when compared to the clinical data, will make a basis for checking the validity of the theory.
