Schwinger-Dyson equation for quarks in a QCD inspired model

We discuss formulation of QCD in Minkowski-spacetime and effect of an operator product expansion by means of normal ordering of fields in the QCD Lagrangian. The formulation of QCD in the Minkowski-spacetime allows us to solve a constraint equation and decompose the gauge field propagator in the sum of an instantaneous part, which forms a bound state, and a retarded part, which contains the relativistic corrections. In Quantum Field Theory, for a Lagrangian with unordered operator fields, one can make normal ordering by means of the operator product expansion, then the gluon condensate appear. This gives us a natural way of obtaining a dimensional parameter in QCD, which is missing in the QCD Lagrangian. We derive a Schwinger-Dyson equation for a quark, which is studied both numerically and analytically. The critical value of the strong coupling constant $α_s = 4/π$, above which a nontrivial solution appears and a spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking occurs, is found. For the sake of simplicity, the considered model describes only one flavor massless quark, but the methods can be used in more general case. The Fourier-sine transform of a function with log-power asymptotic was performed.

Radiative breaking of conformal symmetry in the Standard Model

Radiaitve mechanism of conformal symmetry breaking in a comformal-invariant version of the Standard Model is considered. The Coleman-Weinberg mechanism of dimensional transmutation in this system gives rise to finite vacuum expectation values and, consequently, masses of scalar and spinor fields. A natural bootstrap between the energy scales of the top quark and Higgs boson is suggested.

Von Neumann's Quantization of General Relativity

Von Neumann's procedure is applied for quantization of General Relativity. We quantize the initial data of dynamical variables at the Planck epoch, where the Hubble parameter coincides with the Planck mass. These initial data are defined via the Fock simplex in the tangent Minkowskian space-time and the Dirac conformal interval. The Einstein cosmological principle is applied for the average of the spatial metric determinant logarithm over the spatial volume of the visible Universe. We derive the splitting of the general coordinate transformations into the diffeomorphisms (as the object of the second Nöther theorem) and the initial data transformations (as objects of the first Nöther theorem). Following von Neumann, we suppose that the vacuum state is a quantum ensemble. The vacuum state is degenerated with respect to quantum numbers of non-vacuum states with the distribution function that yields the Casimir effect in gravidynamics in analogy to the one in electrodynamics. The generation functional of the perturbation theory in gravidynamics is given as a solution of the quantum energy constraint. We discuss the region of applicability of gravidynamics and its possible predictions for explanation of the modern observational and experimental data.

Spontaneous radiatively induced breaking of conformal invariance in the Standard Model

A mechanism of radiatively induced breaking of the conformal symmetry in the Standard Model is suggested. The system of one scalar (Higgs) and one fermion (top-quark) fields with Yukawa and $ϕ^4$ interactions is considered. The infrared instability of the Coleman-Weinberg effective potential for this system leads to the appearance of a finite renormalization scale and thus to breaking of the conformal symmetry. Finite condensates of both scalar and spinor fields appear. It is shown that the top quark condensate can supersede the tachyon mass of the Higgs field. The Higgs boson is treated as an elementary scalar and the standard mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking remains unchanged. The difference from the Standard Model appears in the value of the Higgs boson self-coupling constant.

Principles of Quantum Universe

The present monograph is devoted to the theory of gravitation derived consequently as joint nonlinear realization of conformal and affine symmetries by means of Cartan differential forms. In the framework of the joint nonlinear realization of conformal and affine symmetries the interpretation of the last cosmological observational data of Ia Supernovae, anisotropy of the primordial radiation temperature and the mass spectrum of electroweak bosons, including the Higgs particle mass in the expected region ~ 125 GeV, is given. All these observational and experimental data testify to the vacuum energy dominance. The vacuum Casimir energy is a source of intensive cosmological quantum creation gravitons and electroweak bosons including Higgs particles from the empty Universe during the first 10^(-12) sec. The products of decay of the electroweak bosons give the matter content of the present day Universe, including primordial radiation and its baryon asymmetry.

Condensate Mechanism of Conformal Symmetry Breaking and the Higgs Boson

A mechanism of spontaneous conformal symmetry breaking based on field condensates in the Standard Model of strong and electroweak interactions is suggested. It is shown that an existence of the top quark condensate can supersede the tachyon mass term in the Higgs potential in the standard mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking. Considering the ratio of a field condensate to the corresponding mass power (depending on quantum statistics) for various fields as a conformal invariant, we obtain the Higgs boson mass to be about $130\pm 15$ GeV.

Conformal and Affine Hamiltonian Dynamics of General Relativity

The Hamiltonian approach to the General Relativity is formulated as a joint nonlinear realization of conformal and affine symmetries by means of the Dirac scalar dilaton and the Maurer-Cartan forms. The dominance of the Casimir vacuum energy of physical fields provides a good description of the type Ia supernova luminosity distance--redshift relation. Introducing the uncertainty principle at the Planck's epoch within our model, we obtain the hierarchy of the Universe energy scales, which is supported by the observational data. We found that the invariance of the Maurer-Cartan forms with respect to the general coordinate transformation yields a single-component strong gravitational waves. The Hamiltonian dynamics of the model describes the effect of an intensive vacuum creation of gravitons and the minimal coupling scalar (Higgs) bosons in the Early Universe.

Bound States in Gauge Theories as the Poincare Group Representations

The bound state generating functional is constructed in gauge theories. This construction is based on the Dirac Hamiltonian approach to gauge theories, the Poincaré group classification of fields and their nonlocal bound states, and the Markov-Yukawa constraint of irreducibility. The generating functional contains additional anomalous creations of pseudoscalar bound states: para-positronium in QED and mesons in QCD in the two gamma processes of the type of γ+ γ= π_0+para-positronium. The functional allows us to establish physically clear and transparent relations between the perturbative QCD to its nonperturbative low energy model by means of normal ordering and the quark and gluon condensates. In the limit of small current quark masses, the Gell-Mann-Oakes-Renner relation is derived from the Schwinger-Dyson (SD) and Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equations. The constituent quark masses can be calculated from a self-consistent non-linear equation.

Conformal Hamiltonian Dynamics of General Relativity

The General Relativity formulated with the aid of the spin connection coefficients is considered in the finite space geometry of similarity with the Dirac scalar dilaton. We show that the redshift evolution of the General Relativity describes the vacuum creation of the matter in the empty Universe at the electroweak epoch and the dilaton vacuum energy plays a role of the dark energy.

Pion Polarizability in the NJL model and Possibilities of its Experimental Studies in Coulomb Nuclear Scattering

The charge pion polarizability is calculated in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model, where the quark loops (in the mean field approximation) and the meson loops (in the $1/N_c$ approximation) are taken into account. We show that quark loop contribution dominates, because the meson loops strongly conceal each other. The sigma-pole contribution $(m^2_σ-t)^{-1}$ plays the main role and contains strong t-dependence of the effective pion polarizability at the region $|t|\geq 4M_π^2$. Possibilities of experimental test of this sigma-pole effect in the reaction of Coulomb Nuclear Scattering are estimated for the COMPASS experiment.

Is it possible to estimate the Higgs Mass from the CMB Power Spectrum?

General Relativity and Standard Model are considered as a theory of dynamical scale symmetry with definite initial data compatible with the accepted Higgs mechanism. In this theory the Early Universe behaves like a factory of electroweak bosons and Higgs scalars, and it gives a possibility to identify three peaks in the Cosmic Microwave Background power spectrum with the contributions of photonic decays and annihilation processes of primordial Higgs, W, and Z bosons in agreement with the QED coupling constant, Weinberg's angle, and Higgs' particle mass of about 118 GeV.

Generating Functional for Bound States in QED

The manifestly Lorentz covariant formulation of quantum electrodynamics disregards Coulomb instantaneous interaction and its consequence - instantaneous bound states (IBS's). In this article we consider the way of construction the IBS generating functional using the operator generalization of the initial data in the Dirac Hamiltonian approach to QED.

Relativistic Universe Scenario

The luminocity-distance -- redshift SN Ia data and the Cosmic Microwave Background power spectrum are discussed in the context of the results and ideas of the eminent Russian physicist-theorist N.A. Chernikov. His results include the Boltzmann-Chernikov distribution in the kinetic theory of relativistic gas, conformal invariant theory of scalar field, and the vacuum cosmological creation of particles. We use these results for explanation of the origin of matter content of the Universe in the modern relativistic physics.

Higgs Particle Mass in Cosmology

A version of the Standard Model is considered, where the electroweak symmetry breaking is provided by cosmological initial data given for the zeroth Fourier harmonic of the Higgs field $<ϕ>$. The initial data symmetry breaking mechanism removes the Higgs field contribution to the vacuum energy density, possible creation of monopoles, and tachion behavior at high energies, if one imposes an ``inertial'' condition on the Higgs potential $\textsf{V}_{\rm Higgs}(<ϕ>)=0$. The requirement of zero radiative corrections to this {\em inertial} condition coincides with the limiting point of the vacuum stability in the Standard Model. The latter together with the direct experimental limit gives the prediction for the mass of the Higgs boson to be in the range $114 < m_h \lsim 134$ GeV.

Hamiltonian Unification of General Relativity and Standard Model

The Hamiltonian approach to the General Relativity and the Standard Model is studied in the context of its consistency with the Newton law, the Higgs effect, the Hubble cosmological evolution and the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation physics. The version of the Higgs potential is proposed, where its constant parameter is replaced by the dynamic zeroth Fourier harmonic of the very Higgs field. In this model, the extremum of the Coleman--Weinberg effective potential obtained from the unit vacuum--vacuum transition amplitude immediately predicts mass of Higgs field and removes tremendous vacuum cosmological density. We show that the relativity principles unambiguously treat the Planck epoch, in the General Relativity, as the present-day one. It was shown that there are initial data of the Electro-Weak epoch compatible with supposition that all particles in the Universe are final products of decays of primordial Higgs particles and W-, Z-vector bosons created from vacuum at the instant treated as the "Big-Bang".

To a question on the η\to π^0 γγdecay width in meson-baryon chiral model

It is shown in the work of one of the authors in 1979 (MKV) that the contribution to the amplitude of this decay from diagrams with one baryon loop is equal to zero and contributions from diagrams with meson loops appear very small. However, pole diagrams with intermediate vector mesons were not considered there. Here it is shown that contributions of these pole diagrams dominate. The meson-baryon chiral model used here is compared with known quark chiral models. The obtained results are in satisfactory agreement with recent experimental data.

Higgs effect in Conformal Cosmology & Supernova Data

The formulation of the Higgs effect is studied in the Glashow--Weinberg--Salam Standard Model, where the constant part of the Higgs potential is identified with the zeroth mode of the Higgs field. In this model, the Coleman--Weinberg effective potential obtained from the vacuum--vacuum transition amplitude is equal to unity at the extremum. This extremum immediately removes tremendous vacuum cosmological density and predicts mass of Higgs field. In this model, the kinetic energy density of the Higgs field and any scalar field can be treated as the rigid state origin that explains Supernova data in the conformal cosmology without the $Λ$ term.

Radiative Kaon Decay in Chiral Perturbation Theory

We analyze the possibility of experimental investigation of new low-energy relations between the values of resonance masses in the meson form factors and the differential rate of radiative kaon decay $K^+\to π^+ e^+e^-(μ^+μ^- )$ at the current level of the experimental precision. A set of arguments is listed in favour of that these relations can be a consequence of weak static interactions in the Standard Model.
