Low metallicity solar model finds the prove in Borexino data

The Borexino Collaboration interprets its data within the framework of Bulk Silicate Earth model and the model of the Sun with high metallicity. Other authors have given a different interpretation of the same data within the framework of Hydridic Earth model and low-metallicity Sun model. In order to understand what occasion takes place in Nature, the Borexino single events energy spectrum was numerically simulated using the Monte Carlo method for various assumptions about the processes that could exist in Nature. The existence of large potassium geo-antineutrino flux and its absence were considered. At the same time, the high or low metallicity of the Sun were included in simulations. A comparison of counting rates reconstruction from simulated data with the reconstruction ones from Borexino single events spectrum demonstrates that large potassium geo-antineutrino flux with low metallicity of the Sun is preferable and is realized in Nature.

The indication for $^{40}$K geo-antineutrino flux with Borexino phase-III data

We provide the indication of high flux of $^{40}$K geo-antineutrino and geo-neutrino ($^{40}$K-geo-($\barν + ν$)) with Borexino Phase III data. This result was obtained by introducing a new source of single events, namely $^{40}$K-geo-($\barν + ν$) scattering on electrons, in multivariate fit analysis of Borexino Phase III data. Simultaneously we obtained the count rates of events from $^7$Be, $pep$ and CNO solar neutrinos. These count rates are consistent with the prediction of the Low metallicity Sun model SSM B16-AGSS09. MC pseudo-experiments showed that the case of High metallicity Sun and absence of $^{40}$K-geo-($\barν + ν$) can not imitate the result of multivariate fit analysis of Borexino Phase III data with introducing $^{40}$K-geo-($\barν + ν$) events. We also provide arguments for the high abundance of potassium in the Earth.

Air ions induced aerosol sensing by eye-safe LIDAR

Low concentrations aerosols quantification is rather challenging for LIDAR instruments due to eye-safety restrictions so high energy pulses cannot be utilized to improve the sensitivity. Highly sensitive but eye-save LIDAR has been developed for the quantification of the water droplet aerosol which was induced by air ions. Few days sensing of aerosols in closed tunnel revealed a strong correlation between air optical transparency (LIDAR measurements) and concentrations of positive/negative ions (ion counter Sapphir 3-M). The correlation coefficient was observed to be almost unity for the air transparency signal and air ions unipolarity coefficient. High sensitivity of the water droplet aerosol quantification makes the developed eye-safe LIDAR a perspective instrument for space resolved measurements of the air ions distribution. Space and time resolved measurements of air ions exhalation can be a new instrument for tectonic activity study including new earthquake forecasting indicators search.

Test of beta and antineutrino spectra symmetry in beta-decay

The mechanism of beta decay in nature is not understood yet. Mirrored energy spectra of electron and antineutrino can clarify the situation. A special experiment is needed to measure antineutrino spectrum from known beta-decaying isotope to compare it with the beta one. One of ongoing experiments with large volume detector can be chosen to make the experiment. Another possibility is to make a special experiment close to a powerful source of mixture of known beta-decaying isotopes. If sufficient differences in shape will be observed the method of antineutrino spectrum calculation should be revised.

The reactor antineutrino spectrum calculation

New fissile isotopes antineutrino spectra ($^{235}$U, $^{238}$U, $^{239}$Pu and $^{241}$Pu) calculation is presented. On base of summation method the toy model was developed. It was shown that total antineutrino number is conserved in framework of given database on individual fragments yields. The analysis of antineutrino spectrum shape says that any presented antineutrino spectrum should satisfy to the total antineutrino number conservation.

Simulation of an experiment on looking for sterile neutrinos at nuclear reactor

The simulation of an experiment on looking for sterile neutrinos at a nuclear reactor at short distances is presented. It has been shown that statistical fluctuations in experimental bins always imitate the oscillatory behavior of the spectrum. An amplitude of the detectable oscillations decreases when statistics grows up in case of oscillations absence, while mass parameter tends to be accidental. When we simulate spectra in a detector with oscillations the parameters found in fitting become close to parameters applied to spectra starting from statistics 10$^5$ events in near detector.

On first detection of solar neutrinos from CNO cycle with Borexino

Borexino collaboration reported about first measurement of solar CNO-$ν$ interaction rate in Borexino detector. This result is consistent with Hydridic Earth model prediction about the contribution of $^{40}$K geo-antineutrino interactions in single Borexino events. The potassium abundance in the Earth in the range $1 ÷1.5$\% of the Earth mass could give the observed enhancement of counting rate above expected CNO-$ν$ counting rate. The Earth intrinsic heat flux must be in the range $200 ÷300$ TW for this potassium abundance. This value of the heat flux can explain the ocean heating observed by the project ARGO. We consider that Hydridic Earth model actually corresponds better to CNO-$ν$ Borexino results than Silicate Earth model.

On the contribution of the $^{40}$K geo-antineutrino to single Borexino events

We propose to include in the analysis of Borexino single event energy spectrum the scattering of $^{40}$K geo-antineutrinos by scintillator electrons. The Hydridic Earth model predicts the concentration of potassium in modern Earth from 1\% to 4\% of the Earth mass. We calculated contribution of $^{40}$K geo-antineutrino interactions in single Borexino events for these concentrations. This contribution is comparable to the contribution from the interaction of CNO neutrinos. We discuss the reasons for using the Hydridic Earth model.

Joint analysis of spectral reactor neutrino experiments

The analysis of experiments at nuclear reactors where inverse beta decay reaction positron spectrum was measured at different distances from reactor core is presented here. It was found that there appear three enclosed zones of neutrino oscillation parameters when joint analysis is applied on the $Δm^{2}-\sin^{2}2θ$ plane. The parameters that found are partially crossed with similar regions originating from other non reactor experiments where they observed neutrino oscillations having unusual mass parameter about 1 eV^2 and amplitude about 0.04. Confidence level for observed regions achieves the value of 99.9%.

Geoneutrinos and the Earth inner parts structure

The connection between geoneutrino registration and the Earth theory test is discussed. We compare standard theory of lithosphere plates and hypothesis of hydride Earth. Last hypothesis adds additional neutrino source $-$ planet core in which the initial Earth composition is conserved. Large volume scintillation detector is supposed to install at Baksan neutrino observatory INR RAS at Caucasus. The detector will register all possible neutrino fluxes, but mainly geo-neutrinos. So kind a detector (or detector net) placed in a number of sites on the Earth surface can measure all radioactivity from $^{238}$U and $^{232}$Th, because their neutrino energy exceeds the inverse beta-decay reaction threshold. By this way it will it possible to understand if there are any more neutrino sources in the Earth other than the crust and mantle.

Research of the natural neutrino fluxes by use of large volume scintillation detector at Baksan

A large volume scintillation detector is supposed to install at Baksan neutrino observatory INR RAS at Caucasus. The detector will register all possible neutrino fluxes, but mainly geo-neutrinos. In the article the neutrino fluxes are discussed and expected effects in proposed detector are estimated. The design and construction of such a detector is expected to be a part of all the world similar detectors net that is under construction in modern times.

Measuring of fissile isotopes partial antineutrino spectra in direct experiment at nuclear reactor

The direct measuring method is considered to get nuclear reactor antineutrino spectrum. We suppose to isolate partial spectra of the fissile isotopes by using the method of antineutrino spectrum extraction from the inverse beta decay positron spectrum applied at Rovno experiment. This admits to increase the accuracy of partial antineutrino spectra forming the total nuclear reactor spectrum. It is important for the analysis of the reactor core fuel composition and could be applied for non-proliferation purposes.

We consider the possibilities of studying a supernova collapse neutrino burst at Baksan Neutrino Observatory (Institute for Nuclear Research, Russian Academy of Sciences) using the prposed 5-kt target-mass liquid scintillation spectrometer. Attention is given to the influence of mixing angle $θ_{13}$ on the expected rates and spectra of neutrino events.

Inverse Beta Decay in a Nonequilibrium Antineutrino Flux from a Nuclear Reactor

The evolution of the reactor antineutrino spectrum toward equilibrium above the inverse beta-decay threshold during the reactor operating period and the decay of residual antineutrino radiation after reactor shutdown are considered. It is found that, under certain conditions, these processes can play a significant role in experiments seeking neutrino oscillations.

Weak and Magnetic Inelastic Scattering of Antineutrinos on Atomic Electrons

Neutrino scattering on electrons is considered as a tool for laboratory searches of the neutrino magnetic moment. We study inelastic $\barν_ee^-$-scattering on electrons bound in the germanium (Z=32) and iodine (Z=53) atoms for antineutrinos generated in a nuclear reactor core and also in the $^{90}$Sr-$^{90}$Y and $^{147}$Pm artificial sources. Using the relativistic Hartree-Fock-Dirac model, we calculate both the magnetic and weak scattering cross sections for the recoil electron energy range of 1 to 100 keV where a higher sensitivity to the neutrino magnetic moment could be achieved. Particular attention is paid to the approximate procedure which allows us to take into account the effects of atomic binding on the inelastic scattering spectra in a simple way.
