H\"older estimates of weak solutions to chemotaxis systems of fast diffusion type

We study a quasilinear chemotaxis system of singular type, where the diffusion operator is given by $\Delta u^m$ with $0<m<1$, corresponding to the fast diffusion regime, and where the chemotactic drift is nonlinear. Since H\"older continuity constitutes the optimal regularity class for weak solutions to the porous medium equation, we establish analogous regularity results for bounded solutions of parabolic--parabolic chemotaxis systems in this setting. The proof is based on a refined De Giorgi--Di Benedetto iteration scheme adapted to the coupled structure of the system. These results advance the understanding of the fine regularity properties of chemotaxis models with nonlinear diffusion, and demonstrate that the interplay between singular diffusion and aggregation exhibits a regularizing mechanism consistent with the porous medium paradigm.

Anisotropic Sobolev embeddings and the speed of propagation for parabolic equations

We consider a quasilinear parabolic Cauchy problem with spatial anisotropy of orthotropic type and study the spatial localization of solutions. Assuming the initial datum is localized with respect to a coordinate having slow diffusion rate, we bound the corresponding directional velocity of the support along the flow. The expansion rate is shown to be optimal for large times.

Harnack and pointwise estimates for degenerate or singular parabolic equations

In this paper we give both an historical and technical overview of the theory of Harnack inequalities for nonlinear parabolic equations in divergence form. We start reviewing the elliptic case with some of its variants and geometrical consequences. The linear parabolic Harnack inequality of Moser is discussed extensively, together with its link to two-sided kernel estimates and to the Li-Yau differential Harnack inequality. Then we overview the more recent developements of the theory for nonlinear degenerate/singular equations, highlighting the differences with the quadratic case and introducing the so-called intrinsic Harnack inequalities. Finally, we provide complete proofs of the Harnack inequalities in some paramount case to introduce the reader to the expansion of positivity method.
