Measurement of the weak mixing angle at a Super Charm-Tau factory with data-driven monitoring of the average electron beam polarization

A method for measuring the average longitudinal polarization of the electron beam at an electron-positron collider operating near the $J/\psi$ resonance is proposed. The method utilizes the differential cross-section of $J/\psi\to [\Lambda\to p\pi^-][\bar{\Lambda}\to\bar{p}\pi^+]$ decay. It can be used to measure the average longitudinal polarization of electrons with the statistical precision better than $10^{-3}$ at a Super Charm-Tau factory operating at the luminosity of $10^{35}~\mathrm{cm}{}^{-2}\mathrm{s}{}^{-1}$. The method is discussed in the context of the weak mixing angle measurement in the same experiment.

A method for model-independent measurement of the CKM angle $\beta$ via time-dependent analysis of the $B^0\to D\pi^+\pi^-$, $D\to K_S^0\pi^+\pi^-$ decays

A new method for model-independent measurement of the CKM angle $\beta$ is proposed, that employs time-dependent analysis of flavour-tagged $B^0\to D\pi^+\pi^-$ decays with $D$ meson decays into CP-specific and~$K_S^0\pi^+\pi^-$ final states. This method can be used to measure the angle $\beta$ with future data from the Belle II and LHCb experiments with the precision level of one degree.

Sample of Cataclysmic Variables from 400d X-ray Survey

We present a sample of eight cataclysmic variables (CVs) identified among the X-ray sources of the 400 square degree (400d) X-ray ROSAT/PSPC survey. Based on this sample, we have obtained preliminary constraints on the X-ray luminosity function of CVs in the solar neighbourhood in the range of low luminosities, L_X=~1e29-1e30 erg/s (0.5-2 keV). We show that the logarithmic slope of the CV luminosity function in this luminosity range is less steep than that at L_X>1e31 erg/s. Our results show that of order of thousand CVs will be detected in the SRG/eROSITA all-sky survey at high Galactic latitudes, which will allow to obtain much more accurate measurements of their X-ray luminosity function.

Measurement of the CKM angle $\varphi_1$ in $B^0\to\bar{D}{}^{(*)0}h^0$, $\bar{D}{}^0\to K_S^0\pi^+\pi^-$ decays with time-dependent binned Dalitz plot analysis

We report a measurement of the CP violation parameter $\varphi_1$ obtained in a time-dependent analysis of $B^0\to\bar{D}{}^{(*)0}h^0$ decays followed by $\bar{D}{}^0\to K_S^0\pi^+\pi^-$ decay. A model-independent measurement is performed using the binned Dalitz plot technique. The measured value is $\varphi_1 = 11.7^{\circ}\pm7.8^{\circ}({\rm stat.})\pm 2.1^{\circ}({\rm syst.})$. Treating $\sin{2\varphi_1}$ and $\cos{2\varphi_1}$ as independent parameters, we obtain $\sin{2\varphi_1} = 0.43\pm 0.27({\rm stat.})\pm 0.08({\rm syst.})$ and $\cos{2\varphi_1} = 1.06\pm 0.33({\rm stat.})^{+0.21}_{-0.15}({\rm syst.})$. The results are obtained with a full data sample of $772 \times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs collected near the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider.

First study of η_c, η(1760) and X(1835) production via η'π^+π^- final states in two-photon collisions

The invariant mass spectrum of the η' π^+ π^- final state produced in two-photon collisions is obtained using a 673 fb^{-1} data sample collected in the vicinity of the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider. We observe a clear signal of the η_c and measure its mass and width to be M(η_c)=(2982.7 +- 1.8(stat) +- 2.2(syst) +- 0.3(model)) MeV/c^2 and Γ(η_c) = (37.8^{+5.8}_{-5.3}(stat) +- 2.8(syst) +- 1.4(model)) MeV/c^2. The third error is an uncertainty due to possible interference between the η_c and a non-resonant component. We also report the first evidence for η(1760) decay to η' π^+ π^-; we find two solutions for its parameters, depending on the inclusion or not of the X(1835), whose existence is of marginal significance in our data. From a fit to the mass spectrum using coherent X(1835) and η(1760) resonant amplitudes, we set a 90% confidence level upper limit on the product Γ_{γγ} \BR (η' π^+ π^-) for the X(1835).
