Dynamics of finite inhomogeneous particle systems with exclusion interaction

We study finite particle systems on the one-dimensional integer lattice, where each particle performs a continuous-time nearest-neighbour random walk, with jump rates intrinsic to each particle, subject to an exclusion interaction which suppresses jumps that would lead to more than one particle occupying any site. We show that the particle jump rates determine explicitly a unique partition of the system into maximal stable sub-systems, and that this partition can be obtained by a linear-time algorithm using only elementary arithmetic. The internal configuration of each stable sub-system possesses an explicit product-geometric limiting distribution, and the location of each stable sub-system obeys a strong law of large numbers with an explicit speed; the characteristic parameters of each stable sub-system are simple functions of the rate parameters for the corresponding particles. For the case where the entire system is stable, we provide a central limit theorem describing the fluctuations around the law of large numbers. Our approach draws on ramifications, in the exclusion context, of classical work of Goodman and Massey on partially-stable Jackson queueing networks.

Phase transitions in the time synchronization model

We continue the study of the time synchronization model from arXiv:1201.2141 . There are two types $i=1,2$ of particles on the line $R$, with $N_{i}$ particles of type $i$. Each particle of type $i$ moves with constant velocity $v_{i}$. Moreover, any particle of type $i=1,2$ jumps to any particle of type $j=1,2$ with rates $N_{j}^{-1}α_{ij}$. We find phase transitions in the clusterization (synchronization) behaviour of this system of particles on different time scales $t=t(N)$ relative to $N=N_{1}+N_{2}$.

Asymptotic behaviour in the time synchronization model

There are two types $i=1,2$ of particles on the line $R$, with $N_{i}$ particles of type $i$. Each particle of type $i$ moves with constant velocity $v_{i}$. Moreover, any particle of type $i=1,2$ jumps to any particle of type $j=1,2$ with rates $N_{j}^{-1}α_{ij}$. We discuss in details the initial desynchronization of this particle system, namely, we are interested in behaviour of the process when the total number of particles $N_1+N_2$ tends to infinity, the ratio $N_1/N_2$ is constant and the time $t>0$ is fixed.

Stochastic Chemical Kinetics with Energy Parameters

Abstact: We introduce new models of energy redistribution in stochastic chemical kinetics with several molecule types and energy parameters. The main results concern the situations when there are product form measures. Using a probabilistic interpretation of the related Boltzmann equation, we find some invariant measures explicitly and prove convergence to them.
