Linking infrared and ultraviolet parameters of pion-like states in strongly coupled gauge theories

It has been shown previously that in a relativistic constituent-quark model, predictions for the electromagnetic form factor of the pi meson match not only experimental data but also, in the limit of large momentum transfers, the asymptotics derived from Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). This is remarkable since no parameters are introduced to provide for this infrared-ultraviolet link. Here, we follow this approach, going beyond QCD. We obtain numerical relations between the gauge coupling constant, the decay constant and the charge radius of the pion-like meson in general strongly-coupled theories. These relations are compared to published lattice results for SU(2) gauge theory with two fermion flavours, and a good agreement is demonstrated. Further applications of the approach, to be explored elsewhere, include composite Higgs and dark-matter models.

Static electromagnetic moments and lepton decay constant of the $ρ$-meson in the instant form of relativistic quantum mechanics

The relativistic calculations of the electromagnetic form factors, static moments and lepton decay constant of the $ρ$-meson are given in the framework of the instant form of the relativistic quantum mechanics with different model wave functions. The modified impulse approximation (MIA) is used for the electroweak current operator. MIA provides Lorentz covariance and conservation law for current operators. The developed approach gives the nonzero quadrupole moment due to the relativistic Wigner spin rotation in the $S$-state of the quarks in $ρ$-meson

Radiative decays $V\rightarrow Pγ^{*}$ in the instant form of relativistic quantum mechanics

Calculations of form factor for the radiative decays $V\rightarrow Pγ^{*}$ process are performed in the framework of an instant form of relativistic quantum mechanics. The electromagnetic current operator for this decay is constructed. The transition form factor is obtained in the so called relativistic modified impulse approximation (MIA). The current operator satisfies the conditions of Lorentz-covariance and current conservation in MIA. The results of the calculations are compared with the analogous results in the light-front dynamics and in the model of vector meson dominance
