Recollements of Triangulated Categories and the Singularity Category of a Triangular Matrix Category

Introduced by Buchweitz, the singularity category of an algebra $A$ measures its homological singularity, vanishing if and only if $A$ has finite global dimension. This notion extends naturally to the context of $k$-categories. In this paper we study the singularity category of a triangular matrix category $Λ:=\left[ \begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{T} & 0 \\ M & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix}\right]$. By utilizing the framework of recollements, we provide a characterization of this category, proving that when certain homological conditions are satisfied, there exists an equivalence of singularity categories $D_{sg}(\mathrm{Mod(Λ)})\simeq D_{sg}(\mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{U}))$. This result generalizes the one obtained by Pin Liu and Ming Lu in [16].

Homological epimorphisms in functor categories and singularity categories

Given a homological epimorphism $π:\mathcal{C}\longrightarrow \mathcal{C}/\mathcal{I}$ between $K$-categories, we show that if the ideal $\mathcal{I}$ satisfies certain conditions, then there exists an equivalence between the singularity categories $\mathbf{D}_{sg}(\mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{C}))$ and $ \mathbf{D}_{sg}(\mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{C}/\mathcal{I}))$. This result generalizes the one obtained by Xiao-Wu Chen in [6]. We apply our result to the one point extension category and show that there is a singular equivalence between a $K$-category $\mathcal{U}$ and its one point extension category $Λ:=\left[ \begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{C}_{K} & 0 \\ \underline{M} & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix}\right].$

A recollement of differential graded categories

In this paper, we prove that given a differential graded category C and B a full differential graded subcategory closed under coproducts, there is a canonical recollement of differential graded categories, for which we use enriched categories tools. We continue the study of differential graded triangular matrix categories as initiated in [22]. We show that given a recollement between functor dg-categories we can induce a new recollement between differential graded triangular matrix categories, this is a generalization of a result given by Chen and Zheng in [5, Theorem 4.4].

Differential graded triangular matrix categories

This paper focuses on defining an analog of differential-graded triangular matrix algebra in the context of differential-graded categories. Given two dg-categories $\mathcal{U}$ and $\mathcal{T}$ and $M \in \text{DgMod}(\mathcal{U} \otimes \mathcal{T}^{\text{op}})$, we construct the differential graded triangular matrix category $Λ:= \left( \begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{T} & 0 \\ M & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix} \right)$. Our main result is that there is an equivalence of dg-categories between the dg-comma category $(\text{DgMod}(\mathcal{T}),\text{GDgMod}(\mathcal{U}))$ and the category $\text{DgMod}\left( \left( \begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{T} & 0 \\ M & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix} \right)\right)$. This result is an extension of a well-known result for Artin algebras (see, for example, [2,III.2].

Homological theory of $k$-idempotent ideals in dualizing varieties

In this work, we develop the theory of $k$-idempotent ideals in the setting of dualizing varieties. Several results given previously in \cite{APG} by M. Auslander, M. I. Platzeck, and G. Todorov are extended to this context. Given an ideal $\mathcal{I}$ (which is the trace of a projective module), we construct a canonical recollement which is the analog to a well-known recollement in categories of modules over artin algebras. Moreover, we study the homological properties of the categories involved in such a recollement. Consequently, we find conditions on the ideal $\mathcal{I}$ to obtain quasi-hereditary algebras in such a recollement. Applications to bounded derived categories are also given.

Triangular Matrix Categories I: Dualizing Varieties and generalized one-point extension

Following Mitchell's philosophy, in this paper we define the analogous of the triangular matrix algebra to the context of rings with several objects. Given two additive categories $\mathcal{U}$ and $\mathcal{T}$ and $M\in \mathsf{Mod}(\mathcal{U}\otimes \mathcal{T}^{op})$ we construct the triangular matrix category $\mathbfΛ:=\left[\begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{T} & 0 \\ M & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix}\right]$. First, we prove that there is an equivalence $\Big( \mathsf{Mod}(\mathcal{T}), \mathbb{G}\mathsf{Mod}(\mathcal{U})\Big) \simeq \mathrm{Mod}(\mathbfΛ)$. One of our main results is that if $\mathcal{U}$ and $\mathcal{T}$ are dualizing $K$-varieties and $M\in \mathsf{Mod}(\mathcal{U}\otimes \mathcal{T}^{op})$ satisfies certain conditions then $\mathbfΛ:=\left[\begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{T} & 0 \\ M & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix}\right]$ is a dualizing variety (see theorem 6.10). In particular, $\mathrm{mod}(\mathbfΛ)$ has Auslander-Reiten sequences. Finally, we apply the theory developed in this paper to quivers and give a generalization of the so called one-point extension algebra.

Triangular Matrix Categories II: Recollements and functorially finite subcategories

In this paper we continue the study of triangular matrix categories $\mathbfΛ=\left[ \begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{T} & 0 \\ M & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix}\right]$ initiated in [21]. First, given an additive category $\mathcal{C}$ and an ideal $\mathcal{I}_{\mathcal{B}}$ in $\mathcal{C}$, we prove a well known result that there is a canonical recollement $\xymatrix{\mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{C}/\mathcal{I}_{\mathcal{B}})\ar[r]_{} & \mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{C})\ar[r]_{}\ar@<-1ex>[l]_{}\ar@<1ex>[l]_{} & \mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{B})\ar@<-1ex>[l]_{}\ar@<1ex>[l]_{}}$. We show that given a recollement between functor categories we can induce a new recollement between triangular matrix categories, this is a generalization of a result given by Chen and Zheng in [11, theorem 4.4]. In the case of dualizing $K$-varieties we can restrict the recollement we obtained to the categories of finitely presented functors. Given a dualizing variety $\mathcal{C}$, we describe the maps category of $\mathrm{mod}(\mathcal{C})$ as modules over a triangular matrix category and we study its Auslander-Reiten sequences and contravariantly finite subcategories, in particular we generalize several results from [24]. Finally, we prove a generalization of a result due to {Smalø} ([35, Theorem 2.1]), which give us a way of construct functorially finite subcategories in the category $\mathrm{Mod}\Big(\left[ \begin{smallmatrix} \mathcal{T} & 0 \\ M & \mathcal{U} \end{smallmatrix}\right]\Big)$ from those of $\mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{T})$ and $\mathrm{Mod}(\mathcal{U})$.
