The different ways of description of the $S=0$ particle with oscillator-like interaction are considered. The results are in conformity with the previous paper of S. Bruce and P. Minning.
The oscillator-like interaction is introduced in the equation for the particle of arbitrary spin, given by Dirac and re-written to a matrix form by Dowker.
The equations for various spin particles with oscillator-like interactions are discussed in this talk. Contents: 1. Comment on "The Klein-Gordon Oscillator"; 2. The Dirac oscillator in quaternion form; 3. The Dirac-Dowker oscillator; 4. The Weinberg oscillator; 5. Note on the two-body Dirac oscillator.
The present review includes the description of theoretical methods for the investigations of the spectra of hydrogen-like systems. Various versions of the quasipotential approach and the method of the effective Dirac equation are considered. The new methods, which have been developed in the eighties, are described. These are the method for the investigation of the spectra by means of the quasipotential equation with the relativistic reduced mass and the method for a selection of the logarithmic corrections by means of the renormalization group equation. The special attention is given to the construction of a perturbation theory and the selection of graphs, whereof the contributions of different orders of $α$, the fine structure constant, to the energy of the fine and hyperfine splitting in a positronium, a muonium and a hydrogen atom could be calculated. In the second part of this article the comparison of the experimental results and the theoretical results concerning the wide range of topics is produced. They are the fine and hyperfine splitting in the hydrogenic systems, the Lamb shift and the anomalous magnetic moments of an electron and a muon. Also, the problem of the precision determination of a numerical value of the fine structure constant, connected with the above topics, is discussed.
The composite system, formed by two $S=1$ particles, is considered. The field operators of constituents are transformed on the $(1,0)\oplus (0,1)$ representation of the Lorentz group. The problem of interaction of $S=1$ particle with the electromagnetic field is also discussed.
The present status of theoretical and experimental investigations of the decay rate of a positronium is considered. The increasing interest to this problem has been caused by the disagreement of the calculated value of $Γ_3 (o-Ps)$ and the recent series of precise experiments. The necessity of new calculations on the basis of the quantum field methods in bound state theory is pointed out with taking into account the dependence of the interaction kernel on relative energies.
This talk presents the review of forgotten but attractive formalism proposed by Joos and Weinberg in the sixties for description of high-spin particles. Problems raised in the recent works [Ahluwalia {\it et al.}] are discussed. New results obtained by the author in his preceding papers ["Hadronic J.", 1993, v. 16, No. 5, pp. 423-428; No. 6, pp. 459-467; Preprints IFUNAM FT-93-19, 24, 35] are reported. In {\it Appendix}, bibliography of publications related with mentioned $2(2S+1)$- component formalism is presented.
On the basis of the Kadyshevsky equal-time (quasipotential) approach, a set of partial-wave equations is derived for the wave function of a gluonium, a bound state of two gluons. The field operators of constituent gluons are considered as six component quantities according to the Joos-Weinberg $2(2S+1)$- component approach. The quasiclassical quantization condition for relativistic two-particle states and the above set could be used for calculations of gluonium energy levels.
Relativistic three-dimensional quasipotential (equal-time) equations are considered, which describe bound states of fermion and boson of spin S=0 or S=1. The spin structure of the interaction quasipotentials in such systems is studied, and corresponding partial-wave equation for the simplest case is obtained. Such equations can be used in calculations of energy spectra, decay rates and structure functions of quark-diquark systems (nucleons and their resonances) as well as for description of ($πμ$)- atom.
The interaction of the spinor field with the Weinberg's $2(2S+1)$- component massless field is considered. New interpretation of the Weinberg's spinor is proposed. The equation analogous to the Dirac oscillator is obtained.
The quasipotential in the fourth order of perturbation theory is calculated in the Coulomb gauge for the unequal mass particles. It could be used for the future calculations of energy spectra in two-body systems.
