Orthrus: Memory-Efficient Parallel Token Generation via Dual-View Diffusion

We introduce Orthrus, a simple and efficient dual-architecture framework that unifies the exact generation fidelity of autoregressive Large Language Models (LLMs) with the high-speed parallel token generation of diffusion models. The sequential nature of standard autoregressive decoding represents a fundamental bottleneck for high-throughput inference. While diffusion language models attempt to break this barrier via parallel generation, they suffer from significant performance degradation, high training costs, and a lack of rigorous convergence guarantees. Orthrus resolves this dichotomy natively. Designed to seamlessly integrate into existing Transformers, the framework augments a frozen LLM with a lightweight, trainable module to create a parallel diffusion view alongside the standard autoregressive view. In this unified system, both views attend to the exact same high-fidelity Key-Value (KV) cache; the autoregressive head executes context pre-filling to construct accurate KV representations, while the diffusion head executes parallel generation. By employing an exact consensus mechanism between the two views, Orthrus guarantees lossless inference, delivering up to a 7.8x speedup with only an O(1) memory cache overhead and minimal parameter additions.

Robust adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control for trajectory tracking for of cylindrical manipulator

This research proposes a robust adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control (AFSMC) approach to enhance the trajectory tracking performance of cylindrical robotic manipulators, extensively utilized in applications such as CNC and 3D printing. The proposed approach integrates fuzzy logic with sliding mode control (SMC) to bolster adaptability and robustness, with fuzzy logic approximating the uncertain dynamics of the system, while SMC ensures strong performance. Simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink demonstrate that AFSMC significantly improves trajectory tracking accuracy, stability, and disturbance rejection compared to traditional methods. This research underscores the effectiveness of AFSMC in controlling robotic manipulators, contributing to enhanced precision in industrial robotic applications.

Robust pid sliding mode control for dc servo motor speed control

This research proposes a Sliding Mode PID (SMC-PID) controller to improve the speed control performance of DC servo motors, which are widely used in industrial applications such as robotics and CNC. The objective of the proposed controller is to enhance the speed control performance of DC servo motors on the CE110 Servo Trainer. The proposed method integrates a traditional PID controller with a sliding mode control mechanism to effectively handle system uncertainties and disturbances. Experimental results show that the SMC-PID method provides significant improvements in accuracy and stability compared to traditional PID controllers, with metrics such as reduced overshoot, shorter settling time, and increased adaptability to system uncertainties. This research highlights the effectiveness of the SMC-PID controller, enhancing the performance of DC servo motor speed control.
