Proof of Swiss Cheese Version of Deligne's Conjecture

For an associative algebra A we consider the pair "the Hochschild cochain complex C*(A,A) and the algebra A". There is a natural 2-colored operad which acts on this pair. We show that this operad is quasi-isomorphic to the singular chain operad of Voronov's Swiss Cheese operad. This statement is the Swiss Cheese version of the Deligne conjecture formulated by M. Kontsevich in arXiv:math/9904055.

Formality of the homotopy calculus algebra of Hochschild (co)chains

The Kontsevich-Soibelman solution of the cyclic version of Deligne's conjecture and the formality of the operad of little discs on a cylinder provide us with a natural homotopy calculus structure on the pair (C^*(A), C_*(A)) ``Hochschild cochains + Hochschild chains'' of an associative algebra A. We show that for an arbitrary smooth algebraic variety X with the structure sheaf O_X the sheaf (C^*(O_X), C_*(O_X)) of homotopy calculi is formal. This result was announced in paper [29] by the second and the third author.

The Van den Bergh duality and the modular symmetry of a Poisson variety

We consider a smooth Poisson affine variety with the trivial canonical bundle over complex numbers. For such a variety the deformation quantization algebra A_h enjoys the conditions of the Van den Bergh duality theorem and the corresponding dualizing module is determined by an outer automorphism of A_h intrinsic to A_h. We show how this automorphism can be expressed in terms of the modular class of the corresponding Poisson variety. We also prove that the Van den Bergh dualizing module of the deformation quantization algebra A_h is free if and only if the corresponding Poisson structure is unimodular.

Formality theorems for Hochschild chains in the Lie algebroid setting

In this paper we prove Lie algebroid versions of Tsygan's formality conjecture for Hochschild chains both in the smooth and holomorphic settings. In the holomorphic setting our result implies a version of Tsygan's formality conjecture for Hochschild chains of the structure sheaf of any complex manifold and in the smooth setting this result allows us to describe quantum traces for an arbitrary Poisson Lie algebroid. The proofs are based on the use of Kontsevich's quasi-isomorphism for Hochschild cochains of R[[y_1,...,y_d]], Shoikhet's quasi-isomorphism for Hochschild chains of R[[y_1,...,y_d]], and Fedosov's resolutions of the natural analogues of Hochschild (co)chain complexes associated with a Lie algebroid.

The homotopy Gerstenhaber algebra of Hochschild cochains of a regular algebra is formal

The solution of Deligne's conjecture on Hochschild cochains and the formality of the operad of little disks provide us with a natural homotopy Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the Hochschild cochains of an associative algebra. In this paper we construct a natural chain of quasi-isomorphisms of homotopy Gerstenhaber algebras between the Hochschild cochain complex C(A) of a regular commutative algebra A over a field of characteristic zero and the Gerstenhaber algebra of multiderivations of A. Unlike the original approach of the second author based on the computation of obstructions our method allows us to avoid the bulky Gelfand-Fuchs trick and prove the formality of the homotopy Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the sheaf of polydifferential operators on a smooth algebraic variety, a complex manifold, and a smooth real manifold.

A Simple Algebraic Proof of the Algebraic Index Theorem

In math.QA/0311303 B. Feigin, G. Felder, and B. Shoikhet proposed an explicit formula for the trace density map from the quantum algebra of functions on an arbitrary symplectic manifold M to the top degree cohomology of M. They also evaluated this map on the trivial element of K-theory of the algebra of quantum functions. In our paper we evaluate the map on an arbitrary element of K-theory, and show that the result is expressed in terms of the A-genus of M, the Deligne-Fedosov class of the quantum algebra, and the Chern character of the principal symbol of the element. For a smooth (real) symplectic manifold (without a boundary), this result implies the Fedosov-Nest-Tsygan algebraic index theorem.

Hochschild cohomology of quantized symplectic orbifolds and the Chen-Ruan cohomology

We prove the additive version of the conjecture proposed by Ginzburg and Kaledin. This conjecture states that if X/G is an orbifold modeled on a quotient of a smooth affine symplectic variety X (over C) by a finite group G\subset Aut(X) and A is a G-stable quantum algebra of functions on X then the graded vector space HH(A^G) of the Hochschild cohomology of the algebra A^G of invariants is isomorphic to the graded vector space H_{CR}(X/G)((h)) of the Chen-Ruan (stringy) cohomology of the orbifold X/G.

A Formality Theorem for Hochschild Chains

We prove Tsygan's formality conjecture for Hochschild chains of the algebra of functions on an arbitrary smooth manifold M using the Fedosov resolutions proposed in math.QA/0307212 and the formality quasi-isomorphism for Hochschild chains of R[[y_1, ..., y_d]] proposed in paper math.QA/0010321 by Shoikhet. This result allows us to describe traces on the quantum algebra of functions on an arbitrary Poisson manifold.

Hochschild Cohomology versus De Rham Cohomology without Formality Theorems

We exploit the Fedosov-Weinstein-Xu (FWX) resolution proposed in q-alg/9709043 to establish an isomorphism between the ring of Hochschild cohomology of the quantum algebra of functions on a symplectic manifold M and the ring H(M, C((h))) of De Rham cohomology of M with the coefficient field C((h)) without making use of any version of the formality theorem. We also show that the Gerstenhaber bracket induced on H(M,C((h))) via the isomorphism is vanishing. We discuss equivariant properties of the isomorphism and propose an analogue of this statement in an algebraic geometric setting.

Covariant and Equivariant Formality Theorems

We give a proof of Kontsevich's formality theorem for a general manifold using Fedosov resolutions of algebras of polydifferential operators and polyvector fields. The main advantage of our construction of the formality quasi-isomorphism is that it is based on the use of covariant tensors unlike Kontsevich's original proof, which is based on $\infty$-jets of polydifferential operators and polyvector fields. Using our construction we prove that if a group G acts smoothly on a manifold M and M admits a G-invariant affine connection then there exists a G-equivariant quasi-isomorphism of formality. This result implies that if a manifold M is equipped with a smooth action of a finite or compact group G or equipped with a free action of a Lie group G then M admits a G-equivariant formality quasi-isomorphism. In particular, this gives a solution of the deformation quantization problem for an arbitrary Poisson orbifold.
