Topology-Aware Exploration of Energy-Based Models Equilibrium: Toric QC-LDPC Codes and Hyperbolic MET QC-LDPC Codes

This paper presents a method for achieving equilibrium in the ISING Hamiltonian when confronted with unevenly distributed charges on an irregular grid. Employing (Multi-Edge) QC-LDPC codes and the Boltzmann machine, our approach involves dimensionally expanding the system, substituting charges with circulants, and representing distances through circulant shifts. This results in a systematic mapping of the charge system onto a space, transforming the irregular grid into a uniform configuration, applicable to Torical and Circular Hyperboloid Topologies. The paper covers fundamental definitions and notations related to QC-LDPC Codes, Multi-Edge QC-LDPC codes, and the Boltzmann machine. It explores the marginalization problem in code on the graph probabilistic models for evaluating the partition function, encompassing exact and approximate estimation techniques. Rigorous proof is provided for the attainability of equilibrium states for the Boltzmann machine under Torical and Circular Hyperboloid, paving the way for the application of our methodology. Practical applications of our approach are investigated in Finite Geometry QC-LDPC Codes, specifically in Material Science. The paper further explores its effectiveness in the realm of Natural Language Processing Transformer Deep Neural Networks, examining Generalized Repeat Accumulate Codes, Spatially-Coupled and Cage-Graph QC-LDPC Codes. The versatile and impactful nature of our topology-aware hardware-efficient quasi-cycle codes equilibrium method is showcased across diverse scientific domains without the use of specific section delineations.

Cyclic Group Projection for Enumerating Quasi-Cyclic Codes Trapping Sets

This paper introduces a novel approach to enumerate and assess Trapping sets in quasi-cyclic codes, those with circulant sizes that are non-prime numbers. Leveraging the quasi-cyclic properties, the method employs a tabular technique to streamline the importance sampling step for estimating the pseudo-codeword weight of Trapping sets. The presented methodology draws on the mathematical framework established in the provided theorem, which elucidates the behavior of projection and lifting transformations on pseudo-codewords

Spherical and Hyperbolic Toric Topology-Based Codes On Graph Embedding for Ising MRF Models: Classical and Quantum Topology Machine Learning

The paper introduces the application of information geometry to describe the ground states of Ising models by utilizing parity-check matrices of cyclic and quasi-cyclic codes on toric and spherical topologies. The approach establishes a connection between machine learning and error-correcting coding. This proposed approach has implications for the development of new embedding methods based on trapping sets. Statistical physics and number geometry applied for optimize error-correcting codes, leading to these embedding and sparse factorization methods. The paper establishes a direct connection between DNN architecture and error-correcting coding by demonstrating how state-of-the-art architectures (ChordMixer, Mega, Mega-chunk, CDIL, ...) from the long-range arena can be equivalent to of block and convolutional LDPC codes (Cage-graph, Repeat Accumulate). QC codes correspond to certain types of chemical elements, with the carbon element being represented by the mixed automorphism Shu-Lin-Fossorier QC-LDPC code. The connections between Belief Propagation and the Permanent, Bethe-Permanent, Nishimori Temperature, and Bethe-Hessian Matrix are elaborated upon in detail. The Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) used in the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick Ising model can be seen as analogous to the back-propagation loss function landscape in training DNNs. This similarity creates a comparable problem with TS pseudo-codeword, resembling the belief propagation method. Additionally, the layer depth in QAOA correlates to the number of decoding belief propagation iterations in the Wiberg decoding tree. Overall, this work has the potential to advance multiple fields, from Information Theory, DNN architecture design (sparse and structured prior graph topology), efficient hardware design for Quantum and Classical DPU/TPU (graph, quantize and shift register architect.) to Materials Science and beyond.

An Modified Cole's Importance Sampling Method For Low Error Floor QC-LDPC Codes Construction

We modified Cole's Importance Sampling (IS) method for enumerating of Trapping Sets (TS, asymmetric subgraphs) causing an error under message-passing decoder. Proposed Cole's IS modifications based on combination of several ideas: parallel TS impulse tree decomposition using unwrapping of message passing iterations, according short cycles dense and straightforward idea of Tanner Graph/ Forney's Normal Graph symmetry - Graph Authomorphism. Its allowed superior Velasquez-Subramani and Karimi-Banihashemi TS enumerating methods. Particularly proposed method under PEG (1008, 504) Mackay code for single thread implementation 5027-times (71463 times, multi-treads) faster compare to Velasquez-Subramani LP method and 43-times faster compare to original Cole's method. For TS enumerating problem under (2640, 1320) Margulis code compare to Velasquez-Subramani LP method proposed method for single thread implementation 37958 times faster, 82-times faster than Karimi-Banihashemi and 134-times faster than Cole's original method. NVIDIA Titan RTX GPU implementation of proposed method gives a further 2-30 times acceleration. FPGA device providing further acceleration from 1.25 to 44 times. We show on example of QC-LDPC codes construction how improvement of EMD spectrum, increase hamming(code) distance effect on TS spectrum and BER/FER error-floor level.

Floor Scale Modulo Lifting for QC-LDPC codes

In the given paper we present a novel approach for constructing a QC-LDPC code of smaller length by lifting a given QC-LDPC code. The proposed method can be considered as a generalization of floor lifting. Also we prove several probabilistic statements concerning a theoretical improvement of the method with respect to the number of small cycles. Making some offline calculation of scale parameter it is possible to construct a sequence of QC-LDPC codes with different circulant sizes generated from a single exponent matrix using only floor and scale operations. The only parameter we store in memory is a constant needed for scaling.

Some problems of Graph Based Codes for Belief Propagation decoding

Short survey about code on the graph by example of hardware friendly quasi-cycle LDPC code. We consider two main properties of code: weight enumerator (well known from classic code theory) and Trapping sets pseudocodewords weight spectrum (a subgraph in code graph's which become reasone of decoding failure under Belief propagation). In paper we show fast methods to measure first components of TS enumerator using EMD=ACE constrains for high girth codes on the graph using graph spectral classification method. This approach simplify solving trouble of agreed between minimal TS pseudocode weight and code distance (which can be measure using knowledge of Authomorphism for algebraic code design methods or measure using lattice reduction(LLL,BKZ) for random graph design methods). In the end of article author raise several challenge problems to improve Sparse and Dense parity-check codes decoding under Belief propagation.

Upper and lower bound on the cardinality containing shortest vectors in a lattice reduced by block Korkin-Zolotarev method (Russian)

This article present a concise estimate of upper and lower bound on the cardinality containing shortest vector in a lattice reduced by block Korkin-Zolotarev method (BKZ) for different value of the block size. Paper show how density affect to this cardinality, in form of the ratio of shortest vector size and sucessive minimal. Moreover we give upper estimate of cardinality for critical and Goldstein-Mayer lattices.
