Fractional Equations of Kicked Systems and Discrete Maps

Starting from kicked equations of motion with derivatives of non-integer orders, we obtain "fractional" discrete maps. These maps are generalizations of well-known universal, standard, dissipative, kicked damped rotator maps. The main property of the suggested fractional maps is a long-term memory. The memory effects in the fractional discrete maps mean that their present state evolution depends on all past states with special forms of weights. These forms are represented by combinations of power-law functions.

Fractional Standard Map

Properties of the phase space of the standard map with memory are investigated. This map was obtained from a kicked fractional differential equation. Depending on the value of the parameter of the map and the fractional order of the derivative in the original differential equation this nonlinear dynamical system demonstrates attractors (fixed points, stables periodic trajectories, slow converging and slow diverging trajectories, ballistic trajectories, and fractal-like structures) and/or chaotic trajectories. At least one type of fractal-like sticky attractors in the chaotic sea was observed.

Fractional Generalization of Quantum Markovian Master Equation

We prove a generalization of the quantum Markovian equation for observables. In this generalized equation, we use superoperators that are fractional powers of completely dissipative superoperators. We prove that the suggested superoperators are infinitesimal generators of completely positive semigroups and describe the properties of this semigroup. We solve the proposed fractional quantum Markovian equation for the harmonic oscillator with linear friction. A fractional power of the Markovian superoperator can be considered a parameter describing a measure of "screening" of the environment of the quantum system: the environmental influence on the system is absent for $α=0$, the environment completely influences the system for $α=1$, and we have a powerlike environmental influence for $0<α<1$.

Weyl Quantization of Fractional Derivatives

The quantum analogs of the derivatives with respect to coordinates q_k and momenta p_k are commutators with operators P_k and $Q_k. We consider quantum analogs of fractional Riemann-Liouville and Liouville derivatives. To obtain the quantum analogs of fractional Riemann-Liouville derivatives, which are defined on a finite interval of the real axis, we use a representation of these derivatives for analytic functions. To define a quantum analog of the fractional Liouville derivative, which is defined on the real axis, we can use the representation of the Weyl quantization by the Fourier transformation.

Universal Electromagnetic Waves in Dielectric

The dielectric susceptibility of a wide class of dielectric materials follows, over extended frequency ranges, a fractional power-law frequency dependence that is called the "universal" response. The electromagnetic fields in such dielectric media are described by fractional differential equations with time derivatives of non-integer order. An exact solution of the fractional equations for a magnetic field is derived. The electromagnetic fields in the dielectric materials demonstrate fractional damping. The typical features of "universal" electromagnetic waves in dielectric are common to a wide class of materials, regardless of the type of physical structure, chemical composition, or of the nature of the polarizing species, whether dipoles, electrons or ions.

Fractional Equations of Curie-von Schweidler and Gauss Laws

The dielectric susceptibility of most materials follows a fractional power-law frequency dependence that is called the "universal" response. We prove that in the time domain this dependence gives differential equations with derivatives and integrals of noninteger order. We obtain equations that describe "universal" Curie-von Schweidler and Gauss laws for such dielectric materials. These laws are presented by fractional differential equations such that the electromagnetic fields in the materials demonstrate "universal" fractional damping. The suggested fractional equations are common (universal) to a wide class of materials, regardless of the type of physical structure, chemical composition or of the nature of the polarization.

Fractional Heisenberg Equation

Fractional derivative can be defined as a fractional power of derivative. The commutator (i/h)[H, ], which is used in the Heisenberg equation, is a derivation on a set of observables. A derivation is a map that satisfies the Leibnitz rule. In this paper, we consider a fractional derivative on a set of quantum observables as a fractional power of the commutator (i/h)[H, ]. As a result, we obtain a fractional generalization of the Heisenberg equation. The fractional Heisenberg equation is exactly solved for the Hamiltonians of free particle and harmonic oscillator. The suggested Heisenberg equation generalize a notion of quantum Hamiltonian systems to describe quantum dissipative processes.

Chains with Fractal Dispersion Law

Chains with long-range interactions are considered. The interactions are defined such that each nth particle interacts only with chain particles with the numbers n+a(m) and n-a(m), where m=1,2,3,... and a(m) is an integer-valued function. Exponential type functions a(m)=b^m, where b=2,3,.., are discussed. The correspondent pseudodifferential equations of chain oscillations are obtained. Dispersion laws of the suggested chains are described by the Weierstrass and Weierstrass-Mandelbrot functions.

Map of Discrete System into Continuous

Continuous limits of discrete systems with long-range interactions are considered. The map of discrete models into continuous medium models is defined. A wide class of long-range interactions that give the fractional equations in the continuous limit is discussed. The one-dimensional systems of coupled oscillators for this type of long-range interactions are considered. The discrete equations of motion are mapped into the continuum equation with the Riesz fractional derivative.

Fractional Derivative as Fractional Power of Derivative

Definitions of fractional derivatives as fractional powers of derivative operators are suggested. The Taylor series and Fourier series are used to define fractional power of self-adjoint derivative operator. The Fourier integrals and Weyl quantization procedure are applied to derive the definition of fractional derivative operator. Fractional generalization of concept of stability is considered.

Electromagnetic Fields on Fractals

Fractals are measurable metric sets with non-integer Hausdorff dimensions. If electric and magnetic fields are defined on fractal and do not exist outside of fractal in Euclidean space, then we can use the fractional generalization of the integral Maxwell equations. The fractional integrals are considered as approximations of integrals on fractals. We prove that fractal can be described as a specific medium.

Continuous Limit of Discrete Systems with Long-Range Interaction

Discrete systems with long-range interactions are considered. Continuous medium models as continuous limit of discrete chain system are defined. Long-range interactions of chain elements that give the fractional equations for the medium model are discussed. The chain equations of motion with long-range interaction are mapped into the continuum equation with the Riesz fractional derivative. We formulate the consistent definition of continuous limit for the systems with long-range interactions. In this paper, we consider a wide class of long-range interactions that give fractional medium equations in the continuous limit. The power-law interaction is a special case of this class.

The Liouville equation, first Bogoliubov hierarchy and Vlasov equations with derivatives of non-integer order are derived. Liouville equation with fractional derivatives is obtained from the conservation of probability in a fractional volume element. This equation is used to obtain Bogoliubov hierarchy and fractional kinetic equations with fractional derivatives. Statistical mechanics of fractional generalization of the Hamiltonian systems is discussed. Fractional kinetic equation for the system of charged particles are considered.

Magnetohydrodynamics of Fractal Media

The fractal distribution of charged particles is considered. An example of this distribution is the charged particles that are distributed over fractal. The fractional integrals are used to describe fractal distribution. These integrals are considered as approximations of integrals on fractals. Typical turbulent media could be of a fractal structure and the corresponding equations should be changed to include the fractal features of the media. The magnetohydrodynamics equations for fractal media are derived from the fractional generalization of integral Maxwell equations and integral hydrodynamics (balance) equations. Possible equilibrium states for these equations are considered.

Fokker-Planck Equation for Fractional Systems

The normalization condition, average values and reduced distribution functions can be generalized by fractional integrals. The interpretation of the fractional analog of phase space as a space with noninteger dimension is discussed. A fractional (power) system is described by the fractional powers of coordinates and momenta. These systems can be considered as non-Hamiltonian systems in the usual phase space. The generalizations of the Bogoliubov equations are derived from the Liouville equation for fractional (power) systems. Using these equations, the corresponding Fokker-Planck equation is obtained.

Dynamics of Fractal Solids

We describe the fractal solid by a special continuous medium model. We propose to describe the fractal solid by a fractional continuous model, where all characteristics and fields are defined everywhere in the volume but they follow some generalized equations which are derived by using integrals of fractional order. The order of fractional integral can be equal to the fractal mass dimension of the solid. Fractional integrals are considered as an approximation of integrals on fractals. We suggest the approach to compute the moments of inertia for fractal solids. The dynamics of fractal solids are described by the usual Euler's equations. The possible experimental test of the continuous medium model for fractal solids is considered.
