NOVA-GS: Noise-Aware View-Consistent Gaussian Splatting for Low-Light Novel View Synthesis

Reconstructing 3D scenes under real-world low-light conditions remains challenging due to severe sensor noise, low signal-to-noise ratios, and degraded photometric consistency, which destabilize geometry estimation and novel view synthesis. Existing approaches often rely on well-lit reference data for reliable Structure-from-Motion (SfM) initialization under degraded inputs or apply per-view enhancement methods that introduce cross-view inconsistencies. To address these limitations, we propose \textbf{NOVA-GS}, a unified noise-aware framework for low-light 3D Gaussian Splatting that subsumes enhancement, denoising, and geometry optimization within a single process. Our method leverages VGGT-based feed-forward estimation to obtain robust camera poses and geometry directly from degraded inputs, eliminating the need for SfM. Building on this initialization, NOVA-GS integrates three coupled components: a structure-aware enhancement module for exposure correction, a self-supervised denoising module with blind-spot masking for pseudo-supervision, and a consistency-driven Gaussian Splatting optimization enforcing cross-view geometric coherence. We further introduce a noise-guided spherical harmonic regularization to suppress view-dependent artifacts in noisy regions. Extensive experiments on diverse real-world low-light datasets demonstrate improved geometric fidelity, color consistency, and robustness without requiring paired supervision or well-lit references. https://shaurya2524.github.io/nova-gs/

PRISM3D: Probabilistic Refinement and Robust Initialization for Physically Consistent Scene Modeling under Extreme Motion Blur

We address the inverse problem of blind 3D scene reconstruction from extremely motion-blurred images, a scenario where traditional Structure-from-Motion (SfM) pipelines fail. Existing approaches typically circumvent this bottleneck by relying on impractical sharp-image supervision. In this work, we introduce PRISM3D, a unified framework enabling robust reconstruction directly from severely degraded inputs. To overcome the lack of a reliable starting point, we propose a Robust Initialization strategy utilizing deep dense tracking method (VGGSfM) to recover global topology where feature matching fails. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to effectively leverage this paradigm to bootstrap 3D Gaussian Splatting from extreme motion blur. However, while robust, this initialization yields sparse and noisy geometry that causes deterministic optimization to diverge. To resolve this, we propose a coupled solution driven by probability and physics: we adopt a probabilistic formulation for geometric densification via Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) to robustly populate the sparse priors, while simultaneously modeling physical image formation via continuous Bezier Trajectories. Furthermore, while PRISM3D establishes a highly robust standalone pipeline, the availability of complementary event streams offers an opportunity to push the reconstruction fidelity further. To exploit this, we introduce PRISM3D-E, a multi-modal (RGB + Events) extension that seamlessly integrates high-temporal-resolution events as structural priors to maximize geometric recovery. Because existing datasets lack paired event streams under such severe degradation, we concurrently contribute the PRISM3D-E Benchmark to facilitate rigorous evaluation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that both our standalone RGB framework and its multi-modal extension establish new state-of-the-art performance.

GeMS: Efficient Gaussian Splatting for Extreme Motion Blur

We introduce GeMS, a framework for 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) designed to handle severely motion-blurred images. State-of-the-art deblurring methods for extreme blur, such as ExBluRF, as well as Gaussian Splatting-based approaches like Deblur-GS, typically assume access to sharp images for camera pose estimation and point cloud generation, an unrealistic assumption. Methods relying on COLMAP initialization, such as BAD-Gaussians, also fail due to unreliable feature correspondences under severe blur. To address these challenges, we propose GeMS, a 3DGS framework that reconstructs scenes directly from extremely blurred images. GeMS integrates: (1) VGGSfM, a deep learning-based Structure-from-Motion pipeline that estimates poses and generates point clouds directly from blurred inputs; (2) 3DGS-MCMC, which enables robust scene initialization by treating Gaussians as samples from a probability distribution, eliminating heuristic densification and pruning; and (3) joint optimization of camera trajectories and Gaussian parameters for stable reconstruction. While this pipeline produces strong results, inaccuracies may remain when all inputs are severely blurred. To mitigate this, we propose GeMS-E, which integrates a progressive refinement step using events: (4) Event-based Double Integral (EDI) deblurring restores sharper images that are then fed into GeMS, improving pose estimation, point cloud generation, and overall reconstruction. Both GeMS and GeMS-E achieve state-of-the-art performance on synthetic and real-world datasets. To our knowledge, this is the first framework to address extreme motion blur within 3DGS directly from severely blurred inputs.
