Coherent states for Hamiltonians generated by supersymmetry

Coherent states are derived for one-dimensional systems generated by supersymmetry from an initial Hamiltonian with a purely discrete spectrum for which the levels depend analytically on their subindex. It is shown that the algebra of the initial system is inherited by its SUSY partners in the subspace associated to the isospectral part or the spectrum. The technique is applied to the harmonic oscillator, infinite well and trigonometric Poeschl-Teller potentials.

Constant curvature solutions of Grassmannian sigma models: (1) Holomorphic solutions

We present a general formula for the Gaussian curvature of curved holomorphic 2-spheres in Grassmannian manifolds G(m, n). We then show how to construct such solutions with constant curvature. We also make some relevant conjectures for the admissible constant curvatures in G(m, n) and give some explicit expressions, in particular, for G(2, 4) and G(2, 5).

A convenient criterion under which Z_2-graded operators are Hamiltonian

We formulate a simple and convenient criterion under which skew-adjoint Z_2-graded total differential operators are Hamiltonian, provided that their images are closed under commutation in the Lie algebras of evolutionary vector fields on the infinite jet spaces for vector bundles over smooth manifolds.

Hirota's virtual multi-soliton solutions of N=2 supersymmetric Korteweg-de Vries equations

We prove that Mathieu's N=2 supersymmetric Korteweg-de Vries equations with a=1 or a=4 admit Hirota's n-supersoliton solutions, whose nonlinear interaction does not produce any phase shifts. For initial profiles that can not be distinguished from a one-soliton solution at times t<<0, we reveal the possibility of a spontaneous decay and, within a finite time, transformation into a solitonic solution with a different wave number. This paradoxal effect is realized by the completely integrable N=2 super-KdV systems, whenever the initial soliton is loaded with other solitons that are virtual and become manifest through the tau-function as the time grows. Key words and phrases: Hirota's solitons, N=2 supersymmetric KdV, Krasil'shchik-Kersten system, phase shift, spontaneous decay.

Quaternionic Kahler Manifolds, Constrained Instantons and the Magic Square: I

The classification of homogeneous quaternionic manifolds has been done by Alekseevskii, Wolf et al using transitive solvable group of isometries. These manifolds are not generically symmetric, but there is a subset of quaternionic manifolds that are symmetric and Einstein. A further subset of these manifolds are the magic square manifolds. We show that all the symmetric quaternionic manifolds including the magic square can be succinctly classified by constrained instantons. These instantons are mostly semilocal, and their constructions for the magic square can be done from the corresponding Seiberg-Witten curves for certain N = 2 gauge theories that are in general not asymptotically free. Using these, we give possible constructions, such as the classical moduli space metrics, of constrained instantons with exceptional global symmetries. We also discuss the possibility of realising the Kahler manifolds in the magic square using other solitonic configurations in the theory, and point out an interesting new sequence of these manifolds in the magic square.

sh(2/2) Superalgebra eigenstates and generalized supercoherent and supersqueezed states

The superalgebra eigenstates (SAES) concept is introduced and then applied to find the SAES associated to the $sh(2/2)$ superalgebra, also known as Heisenberg--Weyl Lie superalgebra. This implies to solve a Grassmannian eigenvalue superequation. Thus, the $sh(2/2)$ SAES contain the class of supercoherent states associated to the supersymmetric harmonic oscillator and also a class of supersqueezed states associated to the $osp(2/2) \sdir sh(2/2)$ superalgebra, where $osp(2/2)$ denotes the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra generated by the set of operators formed from the quadratic products of the Heisenberg--Weyl Lie superalgebra generators. The properties of these states are investigated and compared with those of the states obtained by applying the group-theoretical technics. Moreover, new classes of generalized supercoherent and supersqueezed states are also obtained. As an application, the superHermitian and $η$--pseudo--superHermitian Hamiltonians without a defined Grassmann parity and isospectral to the harmonic oscillator are constructed. Their eigenstates and associated supercoherent states are calculated.

Invariant vector fields and the prolongation method for supersymmetric quantum systems

The kinematical and dynamical symmetries of equations describing the time evolution of quantum systems like the supersymmetric harmonic oscillator in one space dimension and the interaction of a non-relativistic spin one-half particle in a constant magnetic field are reviewed from the point of view of the vector field prolongation method. Generators of supersymmetries are then introduced so that we get Lie superalgebras of symmetries and supersymmetries. This approach does not require the introduction of Grassmann valued differential equations but a specific matrix realization and the concept of dynamical symmetry. The Jaynes-Cummings model and supersymmetric generalizations are then studied. We show how it is closely related to the preceding models. Lie algebras of symmetries and supersymmetries are also obtained.

Generalized coherent and squeezed states based on the $h(1) \otimes su(2)$ algebra

States which minimize the Schrödinger--Robertson uncertainty relation are constructed as eigenstates of an operator which is a element of the $h(1) \oplus \su(2)$ algebra. The relations with supercoherent and supersqueezed states of the supersymmetric harmonic oscillator are given. Moreover, we are able to compute gneneral Hamiltonians which behave like the harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian or are related to the Jaynes--Cummings Hamiltonian.

Polynomial Heisenberg algebras and higher order supersymmetry

It is shown that the higher order supersymmetric partners of the harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian provide the simplest non-trivial realizations of the polynomial Heisenberg algebras. A linearized version of the corresponding annihilation and creation operator leads to a Fock representation which is the same as for the harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian
